I don't think there is a "best game ever". There are so many different types of great games with so many different qualities that I find it impossible to choose one as "the best".

Exactly what I was going to say. A sense of "the best game you've ever played" is something that will always change, or at least fluctuate quite a bit. It's better to pick out your favorite game per system, or even your favorite overall series (or two in this case), as those give you more of a choice than just a "best".

Yeah, I can narrow down some of my favorite games for each console, but one over all others is not a decision I can make.

Eeeeeeh, there are lots of them!
Super Mario World and Yoshi's island for SNES, Starfox Lylat Wars for N64 (Tough I don't have an N64), Sonic 3&K (Genesis) and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (originally for Dreamcast, then for Gamecube), and The Legend of Zelda:the Wind Waker for GC.

XD Aw man, that's hard. I've enjoyed practically every video game I've ever played.

But, the one that's closest to my heart is Pokemon Red, the first video game I ever recieved (my fifth or sixth birthday, if I remember correctly) and played on my own. It has a lot of fond memories for me.

--One-time playable games--
MONKEY ISLAND. YES. Make 5 already, LucasArts.
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. Cool point and click. (LucasArts also did it >_<)
The campaigns in Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge were also kinda cool to do.
Mario/Luigi Superstar Saga. I didn't finish it yet, but I'm sure I'm only going to finish it once.
Luigi's Mansion. I stopped playing when...

--Maybe more than once replayable--
Legend of Zelda, both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. They both had something the other game didn't.
And Master Quest. (I don't own Master Quest.) Maybe Link to the Past too. Adventure of Link was fun to play a few times too.
I like every Zelda game I own and/or played. >_<
Starfox 64. It was just fun.
Banjo Kazooie/Tooie were also kinda fun too. Has almost no replay value though.
Also, the pokeymans-on-handheld-rpg-series. Addicting. Damn.
Mario 64. If you played it, you'd know.
And the first Sonic game on the Genesis. Running, jumping, and running, and there's no significant storyline if you
just start playing and don't read the guidebook or something. Cool.

--Replayable games--
Super Smash Bros. Melee. My all-time most-awesome-in-my-opinion game on the Gamecube ever released.
(I didn't play Windwaker)
Stratosphere. Extra cool points for you if you still know it. Tell me if you do.
Soldat. Pretty fun and addicting online multiplayer 2D shooter.
Pokeymans Puzzle League. I REALLY don't like Pokemon, but that game is so damn addicting. Too bad I don't have it. :\
Worms World Party. But I stopped playing it.
The Settlers II, but it takes so damn long to get a good start. Or not.. (thunder)
Stepmania. Yes, it's Dance Dance Revolution for your PC, and it's free. Now buy a dancepad and get dancing.
Line flippin' rider. Why did no one mention it? It's addicting. >_>
Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and/or 2. Get your coaster full with people and launch them into oblivion.

It's between the Splinter Cell/Metal Gear Solid series. I'm a sucker for tactical espionage games and I love anything that has to do with spies/covert ops.
