Then the angst started to bore me, and I did some searching on the internet and spoiled the ending for myself.
Hatori was my favorite. (Hari/Aya fan over here~. XD *shot*)
And I liked Yuki, too.. Not at first.... But he really grew on me.

Yeah, I watched the whole anime, and read a few manga, but I never really got into it that damn much...

I've also seen the anime, but I didn't care for it that much. I read the manga beforehand, and I just think that the comic conveys the true plot of Fruits Basket so much better than the anime. They gave Tohru and a lot of other characters annoying voices in the English dub, and the end of the series left a lot to be desired (ie. Tohru's meeting with Akito, her friends confronting her in the cemetary). Plus, the anime hardly introduced us to the last couple Zodiac members and Akito.
Overall, I preferred the manga to the anime. BTW, sorry if some of the scenes I mentioned above are inaccurate...I haven't seen the anime in over a year. If anyone else is interested in Fruits Basket, I'd highly recommend checking it out for some cheesy but beautiful moments--just read the manga rather than watch the anime!

I'm up to about Vol. 13 or 14, I don't remember...I have to agree that the angst is kinda out-of-hand later. But still, I'm interested to see what happens near the end. Yes, I have been spoiled about the ending and the youknowwhat. But somehow, it just make me want to see it more.
Top 3 characters would have to be Momiji, Tohru, and Kakeru. <3 Kakeru.
