Well, if even there was somehow a relevance to him being in... or maybe Wolf link could become him after like umm a Final Smash or something, Like Zero Suit Samus... although after link's final smash... wait... it doesn't show us the enemy flying in any of the videos after link uses his final smash... they may have hid something...

Well, a character doesn't have to have a direct connection to Nintendo to be in Brawl. There are currently just two criteria a character needs to meet to be eligable to be in the game;
1. The character has to be in at least one game that has been on any Nintendo system, both home consoles and handhelds included.
2. The character must have originated as a video game character first. For example, Pokémon Trainer can be included because the video games came before everything else. Goku from Dragonball Z, however, cannot be included because he originated from a manga.
Sonic meets both criteria, so he's as eligable as any Nintendo character to be included in the game. That's not to say he will be, but it's certainly possible.

I highly doubt all seventeen profiled characters will be unlocked at the start. A handful of them, especially Mario, Link, Pikachu and Kirby, among others,with the rest as unlockables would be a more realistic guess.

• A new character, possibly one from a game series that hasn't been in SSB yet (Pikmin, Phoenix Wright, Animal Crossing, or Resident Evil).
• Another part of Adventure Mode.
• A character's Final Smash (Peach, Zelda, Wario, Ike, Kirby, Fox, Pkmn Trainer, ZSS, or Diddy).
• A new Pokéball Pokémon.
• A new stage (the ones of Pokémon, Kirby, Metroid, or Wario).
It could also be a How To Play, a veteran character (only C. Falcon, Ness and Ice Climbers left), or a new Assist Trophy.

General Scales? I pray that doesn't happen. Fighting him and play Adventures is was bad enough. The last thing we need is a flashback to it.
If anything, Andross, the Aparoid Queen, Final Command Boss or maybe even Mutant Pigma are going to be a boss for Starfox. Also, I get the feeling we're get to play as Starwolf as playable characters since he has been playable in Assault(alright Semi-playable) and in Command. Plus, I got they feeling they're gonna throw his in Father into the game somehow.

But anyways, great stuff that got me laughing.
On a more serious note, lately we've been getting new characters with the "challenger approaching" banner identifying them as newcomers that are first revealed on the site. Now normally, the "challenger approaching" part is used when there's a match to unlock the character in the game. So is it natural to think these guys could be hidden characters?

The second update is a how-to-play regarding special moves, though in doing so it also profiles Meta Knight's moveset:
- His B-standard is Mach Tornado, where a large twister of energy seems to surround Meta Knight for a moment.
- His B-Side is Triple Dash, which looks like a really fast sideway stab.
- His B-Down is Dimensional Cape, where Meta Knight uses his cape to hit opponents, much like Mario's b-side.
- His B-Up is Shuttle Loop, which looks like a jump that goes straight up while he slashes his sword in a circular pattern.

Well, this doesn't confirm nor deny that he isn't. For all we know, he could be a boss, but using a more modern appearance than the AT. Probably the one from Command, to match Fox.
