I was playing towards the end of GS3, around Case 5, I noticed that one of the Judges kept saying "Aboot" at certain times of the trial. So, I am wondering..... Is this one of the "Infamous" typos made by Capcom, (where its supposed to say,"About", not "Aboot"), or is this something that was meant/said by the Judge intentionally? :eh?:

Oh come on...he said it about 5 times,so you would think it may be a spelling error and not a typo, but since "about" is a common word...how can you think that the translators will make a mistake?

Yeah, Canadians pronounce "about" as "aboot", so it was typed like that to emphasize that point.

However...
Spoiler: Case 5 spoilers, very small though
Since those two judges are brothers, how come the judge doesn't say "aboot" too?

I have no Photoshop skills, so I have no sig. Boo...

I grew up in British Columbia and can confirm that no one said "aboot." Personally I blame Canadian stereotypes on the east side.

Also, Zee or Zed?

How is the pronounciation of a word racism? I don't accent my R's very strongly because I have the standard accent one acquires from Sydney, NSW, Australia. That doesn't make me racist. It doesn't make you racist if you yell "CRIKEY!!" at me either (although I will roll my eyes at you).

When I went to Ontario in 2005 and the Niagara Falls area, the pronouciation of 'aboot' WAS there, but oh my it was subtle. It was actually quite cute. If I hadn't heard about the jokes played on it previously in popular TV media, I never would have known or picked it up.

As to why the Judge doesn't say 'aboot', and the Judge's brother does, my guess is that maybe the Judge has been in Los Angeles a pretty darn long time? He IS rather old. If you spend an exceptionally long time in one place, (sometimes, but not always) your accent can fade away and you pickup the local one.

As to why one says 'aboot' and one does not, my guess is that either both Judges initially lived in either Canada, or Los Angeles, and one moved. :phoenix: Of course this is baseless conjecture, but hey, forum speculation is fun, neh? :edgy:

I have to admit... playoff beards, aboot.... double-doubles, and hosers... He's a wannabe.

He does not have a playoff beard - if he had a psyche lock, I'd simply present a NHL schedule! Playoffs aren't until late April or the beginning of May! He wouldn't have a playoff beard until the playoffs!

He says "aboot" but he doesn't seem to show any other signs of a French-Canadian accent.

Sure, he mentions "hoser" and a "double-double" but really, we Canadians don't use those words too often.

Thus - I present to you, the Judge's brother - a Canadian wannabe!
