Well...

I don't mean to bring up one of the oldest arguments of SSBB, but there is at least ONE person from Kingdom Hearts working on SSBB. And if there is one in the music department, there might be more than one area they're helping with.

Sora IS, at least to me, an eligible 3rd party character. After all, the Kingdom Hearts series doesn't make much sense unless you play Chain of Memories, which is strictly GBA.

No, that's not a fact at all. In fact, you've basically just said something really stupid.

Just because a company puts an option into a game, and does it extremely poorly, does not mean the game is better than it would be 'without it.' If online mode is so cumbersomely lagged, especially with the random nature of 'world' play, there is no way the 'half assed online' play is superior to it's absence. Spending 20 minutes watching characters move 3 frames every 2 minutes and then losing suddenly is not a greater outcome than not doing it at all.

At least with the Friends mode, you should have relative control over the play features and lag--but the fact that Nintendo felt lag was important enough to be mentioned in their own update makes me wary of how slow the game will be.

Well, if you read the other updates around, you'll see he's more often apologetic - I doubt the lag is more than in any other online Wii game.
And even if it is, it's still a major selling point - while the game might not be better by having it, it'll help Nintendo a lot.

So now we have another new Pokéball Pokémon, Piplup. It slides around using surf, picking up anyone it comes in contact with and sweeping them away. It works better on the simpler stages.

While it does kill the alt starter theory, it's all not bad new. This confirms that if they do make another playable Pokemon, it could be taken from 4th generation.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing Lucario as a playable character at all.

Konami had a presentation that featured a couple screens of Snake in Brawl. There are two items worth noting in the screens provided. Mr. Saturn and the Home Run Bat. Yay.

So when the company avoids the lag, it means that it doesn't exist? :eh?:

And it's no way it's 30 frames in 2 minutes. Even PS2 emulators don't lag that badly. (Even Wii emulators maybe XD)

A few things to note about these screenshots:

The first two is Snake getting a breifing on Mario. From what I've heard, the full dialogue specifically mentions something about how Mario first appeared in the 80's (the arcade Donkey Kong).

The third shows Snake hanging from a Cipher, which many speculate to be his B-up recovery move.

The last one, of course, contains the homerun bat and Mr. Saturn, which means we'll probably see them in updates soon.

But how are they going to stuff four individual movesets into one character then? It hasn't been done in SSBM, so I highly doubt they'll do different in Brawl. I mean, different pokemon are one thing, but now different movesets?

No, I still stand by my possible theory that you can edit Pokémon Trainer with unlockable Pokémon. One weak but fast (Squirtle), one balanced (Ivysaur), and one power house (Charizard). I get the idea from the fact that they say how you can save data via names, so you don't have to always custom-edit your Pkmn Trainer. Also, I think the Pokémon may share some similar moves (not all of them, of course), like why Charizard has Rock Smash.

While Charizard can glide, ones like Treecko and Chimchar could crawl, and so on. It's really just a theory, and it's in the hope that they can expand on the Pokémon Trainer instead of adding a second one or have characters like that with several 'movesets.' But it's a pretty loose theory, so don't think I'm crossing my fingers for it. But if such a thing could happen, it would not only make SSBB much more varied and customizable, but finally bring the Pokémon brawl I and many fans have always wanted; true, it's a lot of Pokémon, but they all are Nintendo characters. ;)

Yes, I understand it's a pretty loose theory. They'd have to create a mode specifically for the Pokemon Trainer in order for it to happen, but meh.

Snake already? Damn, that was supposed to be later. Oh well, at least I can piss off Ike fans by posting this image around.

I take it Konami showing Snake at their own presentation brought this over for Sakurai to announce Snake on Dojo. I was so sure that he wouldn't show Snake or any other "unlockables" before the game's release, but now Snake's been announced, would that mean more possible "unlockable" characters would be announce in the future weeks? I'm still hoping to see more newcomers to show up.
