Yeah, I agree. Captain Olimar seems a clear candidate for being a playable character. He'd have an interesting moveset.

Think of it this way: Pick up the AT, and Olimar appears with a number of Pikmin (a dozen, maybe more). He orders them to do one of three things. Order them to gang up on the opponent you're in combat with at the time, or split up and attack different opponents, or go around and gather the items currently on the stage for you.
