I beleive Campaign and multiplayer is fucking amazing. Halo IS a decent FPS. Why dont you try playing it first. (Or if you did, I stand wrong)

Our GM's girlfriend came in today, mostly because she was going to get Halo 3 from the Gamestop just a few stores down. She played the beta, said multiplayer rocked pretty hard... Kinda wish we got out earlier, but hey, at least we got to hear our GM say "Attention Halo customers. The bathrooms are now closed. Please leave the store and go purchase your game."

I'm no stranger to FPS games, kid.
And I STILL find Halo--particularly the refined gameplay of Halo 3--the single best console shooter ever made, and a DAMN good FPS in its own right. It's a remarkably complete game, and I've found myself really enjoying virtually every bit of the campaign and all of the multiplayer I've played thus far.
