AMVs usually suck as well, as it's just taking it another step. And any 10 year old can insert several diffrent movie clippings into moviemaker and add a music file to it.

AMVs are like fanfiction - it's super easy to make one that sucks. But making one that's good? There are some AMAZING and hilarious AMVs.
Though I kind of feel like the golden days of AMVs are over. A few years ago, anything that didn't take you 20 hours to make didn't even get noticed. Now they're everywhere! It's been a long time since I've seen a new video that really impressed me (though to be honest, the only time I look for them is at conventions, and Anime Central has had a really weak showing these last few years).

Maybe if a PW anime becomes a reality, we can see some good PW amvs not using the trailers.
