When I'm not playing 1-5, I like Ema. However, on Day One, she's just annoying and it's so clear that she is just Maya.2, she's also far too perky, considering her sister's on trial. On Day Two, she cracks out the luminol and actually becomes useful. The perkiness is toned down and she starts to become her own character as you get deeper into the story. On Day Three, her character really shines when you get into SL-9, and I start to like her. Lana is great, especially on Day Three, when she's on the witness stand and Gant is just generally awesome. For a 'gimmicky' character Jake isn't as annoying as he should be, probably because he's so intergrated into the story.
Ini should also jump off a cliff. Playing 2-2 with no text skip is just painful.

And when you think about it, she only channeled Mia, like, 3 times. Usually Pearl does the channeling since an 8 year old is a lot more useful than Maya will ever be.
Aside from the channelings, the only time Maya actually helped you was in case 4 of AA when her stupidity actually got you evidence.
And even so, WHO THE HELL JUPS IN FRONT OF A SCARY OLD GUY THAT HAS AN ELECTRIC-SHOCKY-PAINFUL THING?
She *might* tie Regina in stupidity.

Yeah. Franny kind of acted like a petulant child. She carried herself with authority and force, but she seemed to switch between a professional to an annoying schoolyard bully, then to a pouty child who didn't get her way.
Maya...yeah, she's no lawyer, but she is useful. In two cases, she manages to stave off the verdict simply through a blind, ballsy outburst, buying Phoenix time and giving him the opening to make the case. She also got the info Phoenix needed in 2-1...before he went and forgot who he was. Then there's the bullet, of course. And for those questioning her judgment in that case, she kinda was trying to help protect Phoenix, wasn't she?
She is trouble though, one can't deny that. But useless....to that, I have to say...

The stun-gun thing is unfair, since 1) the both of them would have likely got stun-gunned either way, and 2) she was trying to save both Phoenix and evidence. And in the midst of that, she procured possibly the most vital piece of evidence.
And the things she 'stole' were somewhat relevant after all. You needed the card to examine the scene, and the poster helped point out a contradiction in the case. Food...well, everyone has their quirks, so why not food for Maya?
