But there's actually no real proof (that I know of) that he was named after the play, either. There's no definate mention of it in the game. But originally he did have the same name of the river that plays an important part in so many of T&T's cases.
Either way, the "T" is meant to be silent.

Heh, when you said "French play" I thought you were erronously implying a Frenchperson wrote it... sorry!
But yes and yes, my inference was that as someone from round my parts had written it (even if in French to begin with), the pronounciation of said things would be more skewed to how the British/Irish would say them.
Though we still haven't really gotten to answer my query... does most of the US then pronounce it "go" with a long "o" as in "ready, stready, go" rather than with a short "o" sound? Our survey says...!
