I did some searching but nothing came up for this awesome game--
Controversial, classy, with some deep social and governmental issues at task (at least in my opnion)... I haven't had such a rude mind-fuck since I watched Fight Club a few months ago :edgy:

Please tell me someone here has played it and give your thoughts!

It got so screwy towards the end that I stopped paying attention to details and just shot every single mother fucker I laid eyes on. X_X

There's not a whole lot of explanation for the how/why/when aspects of the story's more supernatural features, especially the ongoing conflict between Harman and Kun Lan.

I loved Andre Ulmeyda, though. Poor guy.

Fantastic game, although it does have some very nasty control issues. It's also probably my least favourite of Suda 51's works, compared to some of his other masterpieces(Looking at you Flower, Sun & Rain) it doesn't seem quite so great.

I thought Killer7 was an excellent game full of great moments and the storyline was awesome, if sometimes confusing.

Remember the cutscene where the chef fires a shot at Mask de Smith and he stops the bullet by headbutting it? Coolest videogame moment ever!

Ironically, that was the portion that required incredible attention and, at the same time, the ability to take things at face value and understanding that they really are saying what they're saying.

It only took me two play-throughs to really have a good grasp on the plot, but it was still somewhat vague at times, following that "I'll say something once, now remember it for the rest of the game because it's important" route.

I played the first few levels and let someone borrow it, then they just told me everything, that bastard. I need to get it back and beat it, a very creepy game no doubt.

Ah, regardless of anything, I was happy to add this game to my collection. Although it was quite odd and quirky, I still have some fond memories of it.

Entirely disturbing, and very deep. Probably not the best game out there, but definitely one of the most stylish.

You know, I almost forgot all about it until I saw this topic. I'll definitely have to whip it out sometime soon and have another playthrough. Maybe get around to the Killer8 mode, or whatever it was.

I would definitely say that the Gamecube version was the best out of the two releases. My little brother had the Playstation 2 version and to be honest, it didn't quite feel the same. Maybe due to the loading times, or something.

The load times are better in the GC version? I found that was something really out of place and a bit crippling to the game itself. I remember my sister saying she could imagine that switching between personas was meant to be like a flick of a switch.

I'm not really good with political plots, but things concerning
Spoiler:
the third eye and developing dissociative identities
was what really got me once I was into it.
Also,
Spoiler:
I didn't think for a moment that Garcian was behind it all, lol... What a kick in the balls.

Now you say that, I recall what I hated about the Playstation 2 version.

In the GC version, your sister would've been exactly right.

I think his name was Con Smith, from what I recall.

The two personas I always ended up using became a cross-up between either Coyote Smith or Dan Smith. But then again, I would imagine Dan Smith to be a quite popular, regardless.

The two I least used would've been MASK de Smith due to the fact it was impossible to hit the vital spots on the Heaven's Smiles with his weapon, and I really disliked using Kevin Smith, too. Mostly because he was entirely useless, in my opinion.

I've always wanted to get ahold of a copy of the Japanese version. I heard that the dialogue from the ghost characters is all in terrible Engrish, and since it was so bad, they merely made it sound all spooky and mixed up in the Western version of the game.

I didn't like Dan very much, but ended up using him the most (because, let's face it, he's the most useful). My personal favorites were Con Smith and Kevin Smith, actually. In Con's case, raining hellfire on enemies is always fun, not to mention the fast getaways - Kevin never had to pause to reload, and once you get his stats up he becomes quite a killing machine. I'm actually sad that Mask didn't have more utility, I like making things explode.

The only flaw in that theory... Is that a lot of people, including me, actually get the plot. :|

Some of it has that "up to interpretation feel", but there is still a solid, follow-able storyline within it.

:larry: The thing is, she hates the GC controller so much she refuses to play it...

And I believe Kevin's usefulness lies in his ability to dissapear and the fact that his hand doesn't waver when he's aiming. According to Hand in Killer7 his eyes glow. :meekins:

I don't know why but I was soooooo drawn into that story.

I honestly think that Killer7 is one of the best games that came out of the last gen. It's innovative, it has the mindfuck that I've craved since playing Silent Hill, the graphics are more impressive (I think) than games this gen, and the characters/scenarios are simply amazing.

I love Suda51.

*screams* I love Killer 7! I'm the official Japanese to English Translator for Killer 7 SINdicate! <3 I love Con Smith, and the complexity of the story. Ah who gives a flying fuck if it's railing. It's a compelling story and an awesome game I'll always love!

I shall always be Con Smith's Angel baby!

It had potential, but I didn't like it. The controls were so terrible. I was able to kill the first 1 or 2 monsters, but that monster dispenser thing I wasn't able to do anything about. And then I gave up on it. I hate the controls with a passion.

Did I mention that the controls suck?

Silly boy. All you need to do is press Y (Gamecube version) and you'll see the vials charge up on the left.

Well, It was a bit of a time ago, and on playstation 2, so I don't remember exactly what went wrong (no vial in the first place, refusing to fill, inability to fire... I don't remember), but I know I wasn't able to do anything but shoot normally, and I ended up getting mauled by those exploding zombies that it dropped.

Also, having to hold down 2 diffrent buttons, control the analoge stick to aim, have to press the shoot key, AND having to chare the vials - I would essentially need to press 5 buttons at the same time. That's terrible.
