Who would you say was dominant? Game cube, Ps2, or Xbox?

PS2 was the definate winner of the last generation.

Reasons: A majority of Exclusive PS2 titles for it that sold majorly. Games like God of War, Final Fantasy, Any RPG Game that was a hit. Movie Game adaptations that didn't suck. Good 1st Party IP's where released on it, and consecutively and timely.And of course some AWESOME 2d Fighters coming out for it. Major 3rd party support from Activision, EA, Square-Enix, ect.

XB was in 2nd place, A few good Microsoft Studios only IPs released, Halo, Halo 2. Some Movie Game Adaptations. Sports Games, XBox Live support, Some 3rd party support.

and Gamecube was the definate loser in this Gen, aside from its excellent 1st party IPs. There was little to no 3rd party support. and a majority of crappy kids games came out for it.



Now, I'm a major Nintendo Supporter, but I too own a PS2. And frankly, I am a realist and I know when the team I support loses.


Now in this Gen, Nintendo seems to have the leg up in the console wars with the wii, and 3rd party support is there, but seeing a library of excellent games like the PS2 had are gonna be a while.... that is if they can ditch the whole "Casual Gamer" market..

PS3 is having trouble with a long development time, 3rd party support dwindling, and DELAYS AFTER DELAYS on games because the developers need more time to implement the software properly.

XB360 is doing good, and I have to say, its probably the more stable of the 3 systems right now... >_>

Well, the PS2 is only leading by 80 million units... I'd say there isn't a clear cut winner.

no thats considered "hardcore"

"casual" is basically people who don't normally play games with a passion, but perfer games like Nintendogs, Big Brain, Brain Age, Clubhouse Games, Wii Sports, Wii Play, Petz Series, Imagine Series, ect. -note 100% of these titles are DS/Wii games-

Casuals used to be the people that play Zelda/Mario/GTA/Halo/Madden/Need for Speed etcetera

Now, thanks to Nintendo, non-gamers have become the casuals, and the former casuals have become the hardcore gamers. Guess where that leaves the former hardcore gamers? :/

It leaves them in that space between Nerd and Loser.

It basically leaves them out really. If you think about it, when was the last time a game didn't receive so much hype, yet was a great game that only the handful of people played?

Phoenix Wright was one, so was Trauma Center. And last I checked, The current "hardcore" profile doesn't like it because it isn't Halo/GTA/Madden/ect. And the current "casual" profile think the games are too hard for them to comprehend.

Etrian Odyssey is the last I can recall, though there's quite a few games that fit the bill coming out on the DS and PSP.

It's the next-gen consoles that concern me. :S
