Oh, so many fond memories of Star Fox 64! My brother and I specialized for different stages and would switch off to get the best scores.

I felt it was such a shame that they followed it up with Star Fox Adventures - I never had much faith in the series after that debacle, and I never bothered to pick up Assault or Command.

Though I -should-.

"It's about time you showed up, Fox. You're the only hope for our world."

Star Fox 64 is my favorite game of all time. I got so many good memories of this game. I have to admit that I must have played it hundred of times if not going into thousands. I just never get tired of it. Every playthrough always feels so unique and yet familiar!

@Bee: Assault is alright game, It's not Starfox 64 but not Adventures either. It could have been better if it had less on-foot stuff. I would suggest getting it since it's a Player's Choice Title.

And Command is pretty much the closest thing to Starfox 64 we may see for a long time. I suggest you get a few spare stylus as it's extremely stylus heavy. The only real problem is that the storyline is kinda iffy but good gameplay.

It was great for its time, and has aged well. Its graphics may be dated, but the gameplay is solid and fun enough to look past it.

And for the record, I found Assault to be just as good, if not better than SF64. 64 had the best flight combat, script and voice acting, but Assault was better in just about everything else.

Maybe not my top five, but it's a sure fire classic, does everything right and is just... innovative and brilliant. Especially the "Independence Day" inspired dogfight level...!

Took 3 replies for barrel roll to come up... whoa, fail.

I personally never saw the appeal of Star Fox, Panzer Dragoon was an infinitely superior rail-shooter but hey, no one ever owned a Sega Saturn. :/

Gotta love Lylat Wars. I love the multiple ways of battling and also the bosses... How come no other Star Fox games hold a candle to it?

Yeah, It's too easy of a joke to make considering the topic and that it would considered in bad taste.

Who else here feels sad they took Peppy out of the team? Because, you know, he did spawn a good number of the "bad" quotes.

I have all of the quotes memorized since I played it and beat it few hundred times since I was a kid and they just kinda grew on me. :larry2:

I just love this game. Slippy and Peppy pissed me off, though. Eiether Peppy was telling me how to do my job or Slippy was in peril.

Ya, A lot of N64 games ruled, but Star Fox was truly one of the best, I loved finding the secrets like, The loops in the asteroid field ! But for some reason I could never help myself from shooting my team mates out of the air, maybe its cause THEY PISSED ME OFF!!! but still, fun game :godot: :godot:

It will always be a classic. I never did play the gamecube version I heard it was no where near as good. The DS version dispite its different gameplay is pretty good though.

The Gamecube version is often overseen because the singleplayer wasn't that good. However, the multiplayer had a lot of stages, weapons, and characters, and was actually lots of fun.

Yeah, I have agree with one this point. The multiplayer was pretty impressive and it sure had a nice amount of unlockables. And they are actually worth going for. The only thing I wish is that there was a to add Computer Players to the matches for more action or adding more play value.

I loved this game as a kid, and still do now.

I always found it fun to shoot my fellow wingmen down. ["Get out of my way, damn it!" I said. "NOOOOOO!" they replied.]
