Uh, the first and the second are very similar.

The third game is in full 3D with free camera, with night and day.

Symphonia-something?

No offense, but...you're joking, right? Did you honestly just suggest that Wind Waker should have come out on the PS2? Seriously? I'm going to assume you're joking.

Well, I've wanted to play Wind Waker for some time, and it would just have been easier if it came out on a console I had :P

It's not based on logical marketing, just personal dissapointment.. :gant:

10) Half-Life 2

Where are the really good dissapointments? Red Steel? Lair? Pokemon Colliseum?

Read the actual message in it before critizing me in putting Half-Life 2 as a dissapointment :P

Red Steel I've never played (except as a sucky n-gage game that I really didn't expect to be anything but sucky), Lair I havn't even heard of, and Pokemon Colluseum had some cool minigames and I didn't think it was a dissapointment in the first place. Wasn't it called Pokemon Stadium, though? Or are you talking about a complete diffrent game? :eh?:

Oh, also. I remembered another two dissapointments:

Final Fantasy Tactics

For the playstation. I don't think of it as awesome. I played it only because it was said to be great, and because I had heard that Final Fantasy 12 was based on it quite a bit. What a letdown. I spend, I think, one to one and a half hour getting through the TUTORIAL. THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY SCREENS IN THE GAME. It doesn't help that the controls arn't intuitional. I mean, in Final Fantasy Tactics: Advanced, there were less screens and the controls were better. Here, there are, I think, close to 20 diffrent setup screens, and 10 of them for each character, or something, I never got the heck out of it. I really didn't like the tutorial, but I had to go through it because I have no idea what the heck I was doing. WAY TOO MANY FEATURES. Then I tried out the game, finally. The first mission you control one character, your main character. Okay, so that's how you do things. Then, in the 2nd mission, the first *real* mission, I am one character again, but now I only have ONE ally, and the enemy is impossible to beat. I die extremely easily. I never got that you had to place some ally characters at a screen, because that just never made sence. I only thought you could move your main character arround on that field. Turns out you have to click on an empty field.... yeah, like that makes sence. With that gigantic tutorial, such a basic thing like that should be explained, right? Yeah. Not. Anyway, the storyline is just too long as well. It was too damn boring. Sure, it's the startup storyline, but it doesn't really matter when it's the first mission I have to redo several times over. Anyway, once I actually beat that, thanks to help here at court records, I find out that I cannot train my characters before the next mission, which turns out to be impossible. I have to save some guy, but he dies before I can even get CLOSE to him. What the heck is that all about? Give me a break! And then I just lose the mission! How unfair! I really didn't want to play it after this, and gave up on it. What a shitty game!

Fire Emblem series

Ooh, Fire Emblem. Sounds like Breath of Fire, so it has to have dragons in it, right?! Yeah. At the VERY LAST PART OF THE MISSION IN ONLY ONE OF THE GAMES I'VE PLAYED. Ehm... anyway. What a terrrible gameplay. Boring. Whenever my characters die, I reload. I mean, come on. It's not like I want to lose a character. But this is so easy to do. There are also just too many characters in the game, especially when they only get experience when THEY kill/attack something. That really ruins the game alot, because I have to spend my time trying to balance out some characters, and then later it turns out that might not be a good idea because I get my ass kicked. Why are there so few training options? It's redicolous. While the story may be mildly interesting, it just doesn't counter the fact that this really isn't a good game series. And all the overview two-frame animations really piss me off in the long run. Even if the close-up attack animations are nice enough, that's just about the only thing. Also, I think the battles are so long. There isn't really much I like in the series. And I heard it was supposed to be good -.-

I don't have that many really.....

1. Halo series: TBH, I expected better, but when I played it it was just.....meh.... It's not that I completely hate it. It's just it let me down. The gameplay was great,it was very solid for a FPS,but the game itself is just same old same old...... (I'm probably gonna have Halo fans chewing my ear off for this......)

2.Kingdom Hearts 2:This just upset me. The battle system was great and all,but it just was annoying just trying to figure out what the hell was going on. And going to worlds over and over again didn't honestly appeal to me either. I'm sorry but this was just a major let down.....

3. Final Fantasy 10: I have to say, this game confused the hell outta me......I thought it was tad too girly for my tastes (What with all the pretty boys and the Tidus and Luna love scenes) Real men don't cry,the tough it up!!! *cough* sorry, went macho there for a moment.... but something about this installment really embarrassed me just to play it!

It did not suck. Disappointing, I can understand, but suck? It was basically RollerCoaster Tycoon except with smoother textures, cleaner graphics, several ride improvements, and newer rides. To say it was balls would be saying RollerCoaster Tycoon was a steaming pile of shit. Name several things RCT2 detracted from the original game and maybe I'll understand how you feel.

Now, RCT3 was just...no. It didn't even come with an instruction manual! You had to go into the 'Help' menu to and read it there. What a load of bull! <_<

Oh dear - I just went out and bought Super Paper Mario yesterday :larry:

And I am a huge RCT fan, and you're so right that the 3D-ness of the third game SUCKED! I absolutely adore the first two, and I love their isometric cuteness! It was so difficult to build anything in the third one, let alone build a decent coaster!

Other disappointents:

Any Tomb Raider past the first 3 is just a rehash, boring, and unnecessary

Drawn to Life - The premise is fantastic, and the drawing element is fun, but if you're perfectionist like me, spend 15 minutes drawing something THAT YOU NEVER NEED TO USE AGAIN, it can get a little frustrating. The gameplay itself is childish, crude and boring.

Nintendogs - It's probably just me, but I got bored after 4 days.

Halo 2 and 3 - Okay, they're good, but it's the not living up to the hype that is the disappointment. They're good, but they ain't all that! Oh, and whoever said HL2 is a disappointment, I really can't understand that - now THAT is an FPS! Love it!

10. Shinobi
Awesome game, they just made it too short.

9. Bujingai
Again, too short.

8. Gyakuten Saiban: Yomigaeru Gyakuten
I didn´t like the last case, it was so overdone. And game is simply easy without Psyche-locks etc.

7. Dragonball Z: Sparking Neo (A.K.A Tenkaichi 2)
No major renewals.

6. Shadow the Hedgehog
Sticky controls, hard, voices suck, camera sucks etc.

5. PPG: Relish Rumble
Hard, boring.

4. Playstation 3
In the matter of fact, nothing new.

3. Wallace and Gromit: Project Zoo
Controls suck along with almost everything.

2.Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament
Wish I had japanese version, I just can´t stand the American voices! Gameplay and controls suck!

1. Castle Shikigami 2: War of the Worlds
I hope I had the japanese version, there isn´t story or even speaking! No wonder it cost 7€.

Strange...I thought the Psyche-Locks were merely an investigation gimmick. Mind you, I thought they added a nice touch to the series but at the same time they felt really tacked on. They were a nice addition in second game but I was disappointed that they did nothing in the third game to improve on the mechanics.

10. Croc

I loved this game when I was little, and I still do... but Argh! the controls... >_>

9. Ninja Gaiden XBOX

Too hard. I don't have God like reflexes thank you, but I would like to have them just so I could experience more of this awesome game.

8. Billy Hatcher

I bought it simply because it had utterly adorable characters a new and creative plot and plat forming games on the GC were running scarce. I don't completely regret buying it but what disappointed me the most were the repetitive tasks and difficult maneuvering through the levels; such as aiming for the hula hoop rings that would catch/fire you in midair, and the hatching egg process that becomes frustrating within a short amount of time.)

7. Soul Calibur II and III

I still prefer the original from the dream cast. The controls on the Xbox, and GC felt odd and confusing.... Plus I missed the Japanese audio and the extras were a lot more fun.

6. Kingdom Hearts II

The button mashing, and the story went from good to fanservice.

5. Dragon Quest VIII

I didn't like the battle system... thought it was plain and it took a while to get used to so I gave up on the game halfway through. If it weren't for the artwork of Akira Toriyama, I prolly wouldn't have bought it.

4. Digimon Adventure 1 & 2

Awful battle system. (Is frantically pressing the attack button while your digimon runs around aimlessly even a battle system?) Too much glitch and too much Digimon death. The second one had no glitches I believe, but it sucked more than the first for simply being too boring.

3. Ratchet and Clank
The game is fun to play, but the only thing that really shined was the action and shoot em up weapons. (And that alone won it quite a fan base and popularity) But seruiosuly, if you look at everything else...the lame plot, the extra characters, the enemies, and most of the level designs.... They were boring and pretty much. And I gave it a second chance, heck I gave it a third chance but the game felt just the same. Only Ratchet, Clank, the graphics and the action impact improved. Everything else was just a deja vu from the last game.

2. Phantasy Star Online III

...I really hate it when a series becomes a card game.

1. Resident Evil: Code Veronica

I hated the direction RE went when I played this game. The villains were quirky and the cutscenes were...ugh it felt like watching XMen... Ah. I hated Steve and Claire was treated like she was Miss "all that with an attitude". It was like the creators responded to the fans who complained that Claire did nothing in RE2... Well they should be happy now. And hopefully, that's the end of Code Veronica and it will never be brought up again in future sequels.

Not to mention, it killed to have to buy the expanded version of the game----just to see more of Chris and Wesker.

Mine, in no real order;

1. The Sims 2 - Sure, it looked fantastic. When it loads. After four hours. And a few beatings of the machine.

2. Fire Emblem Path of Radiance for GC - It wasn't the biggest disappointment I had, it was just that I was really expecting some nicer animation. I mean I still loved the game, but it wasn't what I had hoped for.

3. Legend of Zelda Twighlight Princess - ....so much potential epicness. So many recycled ideas. So very, very sad.

4. Sword of Mana - *ducks* You know that one? For the Gameboy? Yeah, I didn't like it. To me, the gameplay started to drag and the storyline just wasn't witty enough or worth it.

5. Sonic past 3. Don't even talk to me about it.

6. Mario Party 8 - Yes, I'm aware I'm the only one who plays Mario Party, my best friend and I basically lived on it for years. It's nostalgic and it's fun for us and it's our tradition. However, we threw out this tradition and retreated back to 4, since four was the last bit of any good in this series.

7. World of Warcraft - I couldn't get into it. At all. I expected so much more.

8. Halo 3 - .....isn't it exactly like Halo 2?

9. Earthbound - Good concept, much too unbalanced.

10. Paper Mario - The Thousand Year Door

*ducks again* It seemed so pointless and lost most of the charm of the first. It made me sad.

Oh bloody hell, Metroid Prime was fantastic, even 2 was decent(although I only think that because of my fetish for huge aquatic bosses <3 Alpha Bogg).

Honestly, the only complaints I've heard that there's too much backtracking, yet the same people are complaining claim to have enjoyed Super Metroid, which has just as much backtracking. :/

I wanted this game soo much.

KNUCKLES'S STORY IS SOO DIFFICULT.

This game isn't funny.
It's unbalanced and boring!
The camera is blaaah, the graphic is confusing, the music is CORNY and UNCOMFORTABLE.

Emereld's card are boring to collect, ESPECIALLY THE COLORS!

This is in the order things came into my head; nothing else.

Final Fantasy III for the DS was a huge disappointment. I've enjoyed the FFs from VII onwards (I even liked X-2; blasphemy, I know), and was looking forward to playing a "classic" game... albeit mostly because I was sick of my friend calling me a n00b because I hadn't.

I didn't enjoy it at all; wait, that's a lie - the opening sequence had my jaw on the floor because it was so beautiful. But the gameplay annoyed me, and... well, I guess it's mostly my fault for expecting to to be more like the PS-onwards games, with characters with personalities and the ability to buy Phoenix Downs. It was really difficult, and I mean "a chore to play" rather than "a real challenge".

Phantom Brave was heart-crushingly disappointing. I loved the humor, wackiness and gameplay of Disgaea, ans was desperate to be able to afford PB (which came out at £40 ($80)). Eventually I did, and I haven't played very far at all because it's just... boring. The characters are either dull or annoying, and the "improvements" they made to Disagea's turn-based system No Not Help. Whose great idea was it to swap around the position of "Execute" and "End Turn" so anyone familiar with Disgaea would end thier turn accidentally whenever they wanted to do something?
The music was good, though. I'll give it that.

Like many others, I was hoping that Pokémon Colosseum would be the 3D RPG Pokéfans had been looking for for years. I set my standards waaay too high again, and was sorely dissappointed with the liniarity of the RPG Mode and ease of Coloseeum Mode.

Even if they didn't add anything in, it was no excuse to take all the original stuff out. Imagine how good another set of minigames would be? Or being able to mess around with your PC boxes in R/S/E like Stadium/2 allowed you to? Or getting to battle the Gym Leaders in 3D? Or being able to play R/S/E in triple speed? There are so many things that could have made it brilliant, but they didn't and it's so sad.

I actually like Colosseum more than XD, but since I had such high hopes for PC, it was the most dissapointing.

T&T wasn't disappointing, but I did prefer JFA, I think.

I too avoided Prime series first, I just loved the first Metroid on NES. But now, after playing adventure mode and multiplayer with my sister in Hunters and seeing Corruption´s rewiew in local game program has turned my head in other direction. Nowadays, I wish Wii from Santa Clause along with Prime 1, 2, and eventually 3.

While I'm no fan of GameSpot's reviews anymore (it has sucked for this gen so badly), their walkthroughs are still top-notch.

I was extremely disappointed with this game.
1.Soul Caliabur 2. I really thought it was really bad and the fight sucked and I got bored easily! Seriously full of BS!

That's what MGS has always been about, they're supposed to be among the most cinematic games of all time.

Actually I loved the bosses, controls and voice actors then the cinematic crap they did. Kojima needs to stop this Hollywood crap IMO...... Oh and Rose must die!

Game play was good but there wasn't enough of it for me. I am not saying MGS2 sucks I am just saying I was just a little disappointed...Like DMC2...but I like DMC2 better.

Devil May Cry 2 ._.

The mere mention of it makes my blood run cold. How the shit did Capcom ruin things so badly?

Well I suppose every video game company has made a game that has disappointed us, but I think at times they try too hard and expect their next game to be a hit. I mean......not everything is going to please us,but then again we are only human......

My disappointments...

GTA: San Andreas is a great game but the map is far too big, the majority is just empty space and slowed down the game to the point that it got boring.

WarioWare: Smooth Moves, more like "My First WarioWare". It was painfully easy, the multiplayer was mediocre and all the characters somehow sucked in it... even Wario, they all had no personality in this installment. What a bloody shame.

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is the worst 3D Zelda ever. It was like Ocarina of Time that got violently gangraped. I can go all day on how I find this to suck.

I'll think of more once I get to it.

It had the best Mission Passed! tune ever, but yeah I agree with you. I'm disappointed that they kept using the Rags to Riches formula. :/

Hopefully GTA4 will actually be what they say, Rags to Even More Rags.

3. Final Fantasy 10: I have to say, this game confused the hell outta me......I thought it was tad too girly for my tastes (What with all the pretty boys and the Tidus and Yuna love scenes) Real men don't cry,the tough it up!!! *cough* sorry, went macho there for a moment.... but something about this installment really embarrassed me just to play it!

I thought it was Yuna that was crying...Wait when was Tidus crying?

Clearly you're on drugs. MGS2 was a brilliant game. The MGS series is cinematic, so if you don't like it, dont play it.

And if you're complaining about the faint line between game and movie, play Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy. It practically is a movie.
