Personally, I thought it was farily obvious from the way she reacted to his death.
But, while we may be able to see her as Russian, the point is that Vasquez is a Spanish last name. How many Russians have the last name Vasquez?

From the way she screamed when Manuel died, I took away the thought that Manuel was her boyfriend or fiancee or something. I sincerely doubt that they had a less serious relationship than that from the way she said "don't leave me!" and repeated it. That's my opinion, of course.

I agree with Phoenix. I think that she is beautiful in a way that no other PW woman is, partly because of how cold and "untouchable" she is.

Believe what you will. Just remember that, generally, a character's name in GS determines their ethnicity (e.g. Diego Armando, Jean Armstrong, von Karma, etc., etc.), and that the fact that her lover was Manuel is fairly telling.
