Oh my god, Castlevania: The Dracula X ChroniclesTopic%20Title

This has the potential to be my favourite game ever, who'd have thought the PSP would ever get something so amazing? :O

Basically, it's a 2.5D Remake of what is considered to be the Holy Grail of the Castlevania series, as well as an enhanced port of SotN, and a port of the original Rondo of Blood, which is the aforementioned Holy Grail...

There fixed up your post, either way I'm getting a PSP for this game and FFT The Lion Wars.

The PSP always gets amazing remakes on it. Just look at MegaMan Maverick Hunter X and MegaMan Powered Up.

It's cool that you have the remake of Rondo Of Blood, the original PC Engine CD of Rondo Of Blood, plus Symphony Of The Night in one disc!! (Also for the first time, playing Maria Renard)

I can't wait to purchase this for collection!

I'll definitely be getting this.

I can't believe I blew $150 on the original Rondo of Blood a few years ago and ended up beating it in 2 days.

Will be getting it tomorrow :.) Can't wait!

Early impressions of the new translation for Symphony haven't been too positive though... which is a bit pathetic.

Someone hasn't played the Sega Saturn version of SotN(AKA Nocturne in the Moonlight) :D

The new script has no comic value whatsoever, "A miserable pile of secrets" has been replaced with a "cesspool of hatred and lies" :(

It also doesn't take advantage of the PSP's full widescreen. ._.

Hopefully playing as Maria and the new items will make up for it.

The Rondo remake is fantastic though, reminds me a lot of Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins for some reason. Most because they're both gothic-ish platformers done in 2.5D :D

Wow, that's... retarded, especially considering the miserable little pile of secrets line was quoting André Malraux, and not the product of some stoned localizer.

"Cesspit of hatred and lies" isn't half bad, but the André Malraux quote is better and gives Dracula a sence of... knowledge, I guess?

They also removed the Mark 16:26 quote in the ending :(

The scripture was Matthew 16:26:
Spoiler: So Let It Be Written...
"...For what profit is it to a man if he gains the world and lose his soul?....." -Dracula

For a game with strong religious content (crosses, demons, etc.), it's weird for them to remove this quote.
Weird, indeed.

Love the game. Judging from the reaction of some seasoned Rondo fans, the remake does offer some surprising twists:
Spoiler: Major Remake Spoilers! Look Away!
If you fail to save the girls, you will fight Annette, who has been tranformed into a "Lady Vampire" (L.Vampire in the Boss Demo) instead of Shaft's ghost. The final battle will continue as normal, but Shaft will rescue Dracula at the last minute, preventing Richter from dealing the final blow....
If you save all the girls AND defeat Shaft, you will get the good ending, but not before fighting Dracula in his FINAL form (not the monster you fight in SotN or Classic RoB). This fight made up for all the waiting for this game. Best Dracula fight EVER!

BTW, any knows the secret song, "Nocturne" from SotN?
This song is finally available in the actual game using the "new" Fairy Familiar.
When you sit down in a chair, the Fairy will sit alongside for a while, then it will sing this song.
Those who know what I'm talking about will be interested to know that this song is also available in ENGLISH!
It actually sounds much sweeter than the JPN version...right up there with MPO's "Calling to the Night".
Does anyone know how to rip this song off of the UMD?

You know...I always wanted to play Symphony Of The Night for the Playstation and Saturn when I was a little kid. (Unfortunately, I got scared from the game for some weird reason when my brother played it :gymshoe: )

And I know the japanese version title is called "Akumajo Dracula X: Gekka No Yasoukyoku" correct?
