May be a bit early to ask but 'Lost' said that the typo's in the JPN version would have been fixed. I hope this is true but can anyone who's got the USA copy say if it's true or not?

http://forums.court-records.net/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3219 - Topic discussing about the typos.

Oh, and did they put in a English Super Objection!

I'd like to know about this as well, although I'm not holding out for an English Super Objection, as much as I'd like one...

I'm wondering if they made Furio Tigre's breakdown fluid, like the GBA version?

Let's see... the earliest typo I can recall is in 3-2.

Spoiler: 3-2
Ron says something along the lines of "The blackmail thread didn't scare me." in his first or section testimony.

Hopefully that one's been cleared up!

Well, the rom has been leaked and it seems the typos may have been fixed.

This is what is on the Japanese version:

I found out I can use the Japanese save file in the USA version version which means I got all the cases unlocked and can skip to certain parts quicker.

I wanted to see if Phoenix can still think the only think he can channel is a TV! XD

Here is what is said in the Japanese version:

This is very good news. I may just actually like the third game if only for the clean up of typos.

Man, I never realized it until now but typos can actually make or break a game for me. They're just so unpleasant to look at and make everything seem more unrealistic than it already is.

Are the, "Your testimony crumbling like a house of cards" and "humun error" sentences still in?

I can convert the saves so the DS emulator can load them. And to my disappointment, there is no English 'Super Objection'. :chinami:

Just a crappy squeak like in the Japanese version. <_<

No Super Objection? Lame. At least (some) of the typos were fixed, though... that's always nice.

WHY DIDN'T THAT TYPO GET FIXED! WHY! :headbang:

Well it's 1:00am in the UK and I'm off to bed. From what I seen so far, some typos were fixed while others weren't.

Thanks for the comparison shots, RadioShadow. It's good to see that Capcom at least attempted to give the game a final polish.

Shame about the lack of a Super Objection, though.

Banged.... Is that even a proper word?? Someone needs to work on their diction. I'm still fine if the word "bumped" had been substituted instead.

SOMEONE needs to use a dictionary before posting. It's annoying to have people complain about the typos and such in this game and make comments like "is X even a word?" without doing some research. Sheesh, take three seconds to go to dictionary.com and look it up yourself. Better yet, just this once, I'll do it for you!

bang 1 (bāng) Pronunciation Key
n.
1. A sudden loud noise, as of an explosion.
2. A sudden loud blow or bump.
3. Informal A sudden burst of action: The campaign started off with a bang.
4. Slang A sense of excitement; a thrill: We got a bang out of watching the old movies.

v. banged, bang·ing, bangs
v. tr.
1. To strike heavily and often repeatedly; bump.
2. To close suddenly and loudly; slam.
3. To handle noisily or violently: banged the pots in the kitchen.
4. Vulgar Slang To have sexual intercourse with.

v. intr.
1. To make a sudden loud, explosive noise.
2. To crash noisily against or into something: My elbow banged against the door.

I'm not against discussing typos and grammatical mistakes in the series, and it encourages healthy discussion amongst board members. Having said that it annoys me to no end when people will call out "mistakes" or write rhetoric like "is ____ even a word???" without even doing some research

We're online, we have access to a site that gets its resources from numerous sources and will literally give us the answer on a silver platter (dictionary.com). Hell, even if you didn't know "He's a maverick, a real iceman" from PW3 you could've Googled the phrase and received an answer instead of waiting for someone to post a reply here! In the time it takes for someone to write "hey is banged even a word!?!? laff lol omg wtf bbq", they could've hotkeyed alt+D, typed in dictionary.com, typed in banged and had gotten their answer.

I'm sorry, but the amount of people who actually have the nerve to post "Is this a typo? I can't tell" type of messages is getting really ridiculous. I've seen it here and I've seen it on GameFAQs quite a lot. It's like people don't even try anymore, which is sad.

Lol, no it's not. The flag of England is the St. George's Cross. White flag with a red cross on it. The Union Jack is the flag of the United Kingdom.

Still a link would've been enough as a response, you didn't have to be so rude about it. I found the wording awkward in the quoted sentence, suggested an alternative, and that was that. Not that it'd change anything in the localization anyway.

In all fairness, "banged" does sound kind of awkward (when was the last time you said or heard anyone say it, out of curiosity?). When I first looked at the quote I thought it looked a bit out of place.

I don't think the dictionary stands as the final word for localisation, on that note. Rhetoric goes beyond the thinking that goes into the usage of words, it also depends upon those who read/listen to them. In this case, "banged" did not fall well on some ears, and maybe it was valid on others. Hardly a reason to begin any sort of tirade. We're here to have meaningful discussion on a topic we all care dearly about, not bear down on each other for perceived lacks of insight.

Now get back on topic before I find someone with a real forumtaser. :taser:

...Umm, yeah.

Er, case 3-5.

Spoiler:
Edgeworth time. When you talk to Bikini (for the first time) during the investigation phase. Talk about "Why leave?".

This is how the conversation starts in the Japanese version:
Edgeworth: As the head nun, it's my duty to stay with the acolyte at all times, see?
Bikini: Y-yes... That makes sense.

Not a typo, either a textbar issue or or... something.

Please tell me it's been altered some way >__>

For those Americans who don't do their research. *looks at the translator* Let me explain:

Image

That is what is called the 'Union Jack' which is what Phoenix Wright was referring to.

Now the 'Union Jack' is made up of the following three flags from England, Scotland and Ireland.

Silly Payne went and referred to the 'Union Jack' as the Red Cross of Saint George. (England)

Image

Nothing too major but it can piss certain people off like the Scottish.

I don't see why they would bother to remove that function. They didn't bother to remove the Japanese voice recognition for yelling Objection and such. Still, it may be wonky without a Japanese language function, so I wouldn't know.
