I've watched the anime before I actually played the games but my first one was Pokemon Ruby. Pretty spiffy. Oh, and anyone getting the newest ones for the Nintendo DS-- Diamond and Pearl? If so, any team you're planning to train when you get it? :D
EDIT: Snaps, I noticed there's an old Pokemon thread. Is it okay to start a new one....?

I started out on the old school Red Version, then when I got Yellow Version I decided that I didn't need Red any more. Though I never could get the Missingno glitch to work in Yellow. =/
Then I got Gold Version, then Crystal, then Ruby (my brother got the opposite versions so that we could trade). I never got Emerald and I slightly regret it, but I do have Firered Version, which is an excellent remake, I say. Though I was hoping that Deoxys wouldn't have to be unlocked. =/
My favorite critters are (in order)
Scyther
Nincada, Ninjask, and Shedinja (ninja bugs for the win!)
Magikarp (and yes, I did buy the Magikarp from the guy at the begining of Firered)
Tauros
Feraligatr
Machoke
As far as legendaries go, I will always love Articuno.
And I plan to get Pearl version when it comes out.
I'm more confused than Wellington with a bunch of bananas.

I still do to a point, it is no longer an obsession. I have Emerald and before Spectrobes came out [Disney Version of Pokemon, basically] I had played that. But moving on, I pre-ordered both Diamond and Pearl. It's something to do, and Pokemon isn't as bad as some people say it is. Still fun, though level grinding isn't too much fun.

The other N64 games weren't so bad either. Stadium? I loved the mini-games that thing had. The Scyther Chop thing. Chansey Dodge Bomb whatever. I can't remember the names but I'm sure you realize what I'm talking about if you've played.

*picnic commences*
Team Rocket: *motto*
TR: Hah! Now we'll capture the same stupid pokemon with some very expensive technology even though we're probably millions of dollars in debt!
Ash: Pikachu! Thundershock/Thunderbolt/Thunder!
TR: *Explodes for no reason, or a weak reason* We're blasting off agaaaaaain!
*Group continues on their journey... which really seems to have lost its purpose*

I don't know which end is up with Team Rocket. They always seem to be caught on the ass end of an ass kicking. I don't think I've seen them ever do something right. That not only goes for Jessi and James but the other groups too. I think the only other one you see is Butch and Cassidy.
I have no doubts that there was a pokemon episode creator. Just pick a new pokemon, choose which sort of expensive machine Team Rocket appears with, which electric attack pikachu owns them with, and finally some sort of lesson to tie up the thing.

Blaziken, Quilava, Gardevoir, Swellow, Vaporeon, Lapras, Pichu, Salamence... well gee, I have alot but I don't remember them. Anyways, I really love my Blaziken-- he's powerful~~ (although, compared to other trainers-- I prolly will get my butt kicked)

Makes sense. Pikachu should be at some high level, but so much of that show doesn't make sense. Makes your head spin sometimes.
I have a couple of the old pokemon comics. Those we pretty cool! I have I think the first and second series that were made but that's all. If I weren't so lazy I could scan one of them in or something.
I like a lot of different pokemon but one of my favorites has to be Cyndaquil and all his evolutions. I love that little fireball to death. <3

Hahaha, that's funny. I bet the principal and teachers are all like "Arghh, stop battling each other in the middle of a class!" or something. Too bad it ended up being banned. :[

I'll probably do the same thing I've done in just about every main game since the days of Red and Blue, which is trade over each starter until I have all three in each version of the game before getting started.
My team usually consists of Pokémon with two types, to cover my bases. While it might be something of a weakness, it does help quite a bit sometimes. The better the variety, the better. Nidoking, Medicham and Scizor have been regulars since Gold/Silver.

Yeah, Yellow was the exception, since you could get all three Kanto starters there. I've heard that in later games some players would breed the traded starters, then release the originals. A way to make them yours, rather than just traded from a now-nonexistant file.

Maybe I'm just used to RPGs with deep, cliche storylines, but I really think that Pokemon could have something more than training to be the best while taking out your rival and an evil mob. XD
I mean seriously, as far as I can remember, the only thing that could count as a plot twist was, in the original games, finding out that the leader of Team Rocket was also the last Gym Leader (sorry I can't remember what town it was. Viridian I think).
...And Team Rocket/Team Magma/Team Aqua/Team etc. never seem to try hard enough. If they want to be criminals, they can take more extreme approaches. >=D
Sorry if I just sound like a very dark-hearted detective. I know Pokemon is more family-oriented. *sigh*

Huuum, I'm going with Piplup with my starter because it's cute. And I tend to like Water types. Although, Torchic and Quilava were the exception when it came to starters but I like water Pokemon. XD

But yeah, going back to the lack of plot. It is the same thing over and over and over and over ... and over again. New thing is the location and the pokemon. That's about it though. It'd be cool if there were some variation in the story. x3

On the anime... yeah. It's monotone. It's continous. It's repetitous. BUT I CAN'T STOP WATCHING IT. I'm such a friggin' geek.

Yeah, That's basically what happens when you bet the Elite # and become the Pokemon Champion. And when you do finally get some power, you really can't do anything with it. The best you can do at this is like commit suicide with your character by reseting the game and start over again.

Ah, Groudon, my gaint land-lobster friend. Oh course, I've always loved Kyogre of Groudon. Same with all the other trios. I've always prefered the blue ones over the other two.
Suicune is my favorite trio pokemon, cus she's pretty. ehe
And Jirachi is my favorite little legendary, cus she's cute~ I do think of both Celebi and Jirachi as girls, but Mew has to be a male because Mewtwo is a male.
