How about the Satisfaction that comes from completing a game using extra stuff that couldn't used the first time around?
It's great to see Luigi as playable character in a Mainline Mario Home Console Game.

Also, I played a demo at GameStop today and it was immensely fun. You can shoot various colored stars at enemies to stun them by pressing or holding the B button. I got to beat up this butt-ugly Pirahna Plant boss which rocked, of course.
I'd much rather play as Gooper Blooper.

Super Mario 64 DS is a remake, not a spin-off. Games like the Mario Party and sports games are spin-offs of the main series, but SM64 DS is an enhanced port of the original platformer, so it isn't a spin-off.
Regardless, this is one of Luigi's first major playable roles in a true home console Mario platformer since Super Mario World on the SNES, though his role in Super Paper Mario was fairly large too. I wonder, though, if when playing as Luigi, his role with Mario is switched, if Mario is included at all..

Thats true but the game was SO bad that I don't think ANYONE is going to acknowledge that as the first time you play as Luigi in a major role.
