I just got T&T yesterday, but I've been enjoying it so much, y'know, soaking in the game.

There's just one questionmark so far in the game. It's sort of in the middle of case 2, when you're first investigating Bullard's office. You find a binder with all of the items that Mask*DeMasque stole. The Tear of Emanon, The Left Hand of Hades, the Portrait of Mejeena, and another heist I can't remember are all listed in that binder, along with some numbers. The only one I can really remember is that the Tear of Emanon had a big $100,000 under it.

So, my question is, what does this mean? Ron DeLite himself claims that the prices on there are at least one third the value that they'd be on the black market. So, appraisal being ruled out, what do the figures in case 2 mean, in your opinion/knowledge?

My vote is on the numbers being the amount of pay Gumshoe was docked for phailing to stopping Mask*DeMasque. :sadshoe:

The prices were the amounts that Ron was paid for the treasures. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bullard was blackmailing Atmey, who blackmailed Ron with the plans for the thefts. Bullard got the rare art pieces to sell, Atmey got to keep his reputation, and Ron got a small amount of money from the treasures.

And that's all she wrote.

But if that was the case, wouldn't Ron recognize the amounts and just say so? Besides, I don't think Bullard ever got his hands on the items. He only blackmailed Atmey the one time, and for one amount.

Ron said he got about a $10,000 check in the mail after the Tear of Emanon. Atmey was really ripping him off I believe. No clue what the significance of the numbers in the binder is though.
