If my game is to have you form incorrect sentences by using 'capably' not 'capable' then...yeah I guess so?I'm not commenting on the 'worst books' thing as a bad thing--there are books even I don't enjoy reading--but I always love statements like 'Ulysses is the worst book because it is hard to read' or 'I don't like old writing styles because it confuses my 13 year old txt msg based brain with long sentences' as if those are valid criticisms of literature.

I agree that those aren't valid literature criticisms. Personally, I love Middle English texts, but that's the emphasis I have for my major. I base most of my criticsims on enjoyment and meaning derived from the text.

I found Ghost Cowboy bland, cliched, and just plain uninteresting. They had a complete chapter on black widow spiders and how dangerous they are! And to make matters worse it had nothing to do with ghosts at all. None. So,that was a waste of my time!

KingMob is correct. You can be a professor with a MA. You get to be a Dr. with a PhD.

No, I'm not saying which I am.

Technically, that's true. I'm majoring in french lit and have no intention to cross over to english lit.

Enjoyment and actual worth to literature are entirely different things. I absolutely hate "La Princesse de Clèvres" (And I'm not even sure I spelled it correctly!) but I recognize it's worth to french literature and understand why it's being taught in Classic Era classes.

And Romeo balls like a baby because he killed Mercutio! Geez.....yeah.....quite a winner you got there Juliet...... :nick:

I passionately dislike the Harry Potter series, and this one book I was forced to read in the 8th grade. I forget what it's called, or rather, my mind probably locked the title away in a secret corner of my mind because I hated it so much. It's about some girl from Chesapeake Bay who fishes crabs and has a best friend who she likes (but he later gets married to her sister) and wants to go to school and hates her mom and wants to leave and it's EXTREMELY BORING you just want to gouge your eyes out with a spoon, reach into your brain cavity with a fork and start jabbing ferociously.

I don't like most biographies, except for COSBY. Their writing style is too blah for my taste.

I HATED Across Five Aprils and Johnny Tremain when I was younger...like, in second grade. That kind of younger. I might change my opinion if I read them now.

But, probably not.

I liked it, acutally. Moore descibes what he views as a perfect society through a discription of a made up country, he even goes so far as to make up a language for it. I found it interesting and acutally fun to read. I reccommend it

Yeah, I haven't read many other renaissance plays besides Shakespeare, so it was an interesting experience. Webster isn't as intricate with his wordplay as Shakespeare, but he's really an enjoyable read.

sorry. My bad...

Tragical History of Doctor Faustus. Marlowe isn't all that great, he had potential, but most of the works he turned out during his lifetime come acorss as pompous and tend to pontificate a bit. I'm not crazy about him, but he's okay. I'd recommend Goethe's Faust instead if you want to read a play on the Faust legend.
