I read it at work and tried to resist crying like a baby, but when I got home, I let it all out. :larry:

Hopefully this is the right forum to post this..

... Will people hit me if I say that I didn't cry at all? o.o

It was really good, though. Except that you kind of remember what the 'Mom' thing was for in the game in the first place. But still, the concept stands.

I actually found that a bit touching and very sweet. It did bring a tear to my eye.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

Actually, AC does keep a backlog of sent mail, so it's entirely plausible that the author's mother sent a shitton of stuff to them that just can't be processed all at once in their daily inbox.

The "autoMom" feature did sort of put a dent in the story, at first, but even if it was only that, the weight of the revelation that their mother was probably still thinking of them even during gametime remains. And if this were the case, you might thank AC for including that feature and helping this one person along emotionally.

It's just something that no other game can do, ya know?

I know. I'm just saying that it really didn't make a tear come to my eye.

It DID make me a bit saddened, however. I'm not heartless! D:

I never played AC, so I didn't understand it. From what I gather she sent presents to her son's account (or save) while she was playing it. I'm sure it would have been sadder if I had prior knowledge of what I was supposed to.

I've played AC only few times, but you don't have to know the game to understand and be touched by it. It reaches far beyond that videogame. I'm gonna go and hug my mom now.

Man, I when I read this last night, I broke out into tears. In fact, I cried several times when I looked at it again. It's so touching but this comic really means a lot to me.

This comic is rather personal to me as I'm in a familar situation as the author. I introduced my mother into Animal Crossing about a year ago and she loves it so much. She hasn't missed a day of playing it since then and has done everything to do and still keeps playing. And she even send me presents too. I'm so glad that my mother isn't suffering like the mother in the comic...but still... :sob:.

:sob: Oh my, that comic made me cry. That was extremely touching and it has a very good message. AC is a cute game and this was a wonderful way that the two of them connected with one another.

Hey, hey, HEY!
Please! No internet-fights! Flame-wars are the kind of things people make half-baked jokes about.
Nobody wins, and it is a waste of time, energy and whatever emotion some may have left makes everybody feel like a jerk. Everybody has his or her own opinion, etc. etc. etc.

Save it for the debate threads.

Back on topic, and saving the world from another waste of time:

I was a little surprised. Not many things like that happen in reality, but if it was true, then it is a bit of a sad story.

Think of it like this: the family is joking with this wheelchair-bound mother about her Animal Crossing obsession while the whole time she is playing to give her son gifts (on the game, of course). Then she dies, the son finds out what she was up to, and just like that, there is no way to thank her or let her know how he feels. She is gone, now and forever, all that remains of her is memories (and a corpse, but I am trying to be dramatic here, so shush!).

I remember a quote from a song I heard once (or a game, maybe both  ). It says:
"People die of disease and accident. Death comes suddenly and there is no notion of good or bad. It leaves not a dramatic feeling but great emptiness. When you lose someone you love very much, you feel this big empty space and think, 'If I had known this was coming, I would have done things differently!'."CLICK QUOTE FOR LINK TO SONG

Regardless of if it was a real story, or a clever piece of fiction, my point is it made me think. As long as something gets you thinking, then it has done it's job.
