I like the idea of the Time/Space theme that Diamond and Pearl have.
Ruby and Sapphire were good with their Land and Sea theme, and Gold and Silver with its whole Day/Night thing going on (very clever since it was the game that introduced different times of day to affect what critters appear).

And another one to add to the list of pretty legendaries is Ho-Oh. Pretty rainbow phoenixes! =D

Sorry for double posting. I didn't see your post DA. I guess I kind of ninja'd you. :D

Actually, bad translation resulted in the Legendary dogs. They are actually Canine AND Feline.

Weird? Yes, but with reason. Suicune is a mix between a wolf and a chettah. Entei is a lion and bull dog. And I know Raikou is a sabertooth, but about his dog part I have no clue.

Also a mistranslation resulted in the Silver an Rainbow "Wing". Obviously it's a feather. I mean you could not have taken Ho-Oh and Lugia's whole wing. xD ;p

EDIT: I never knew why the called Ho-Oh a Rainbow pokemon. First off, he's not, secondly he's ugly DX
I recoloured him to look more like a "Rainbow" pokemon.

Man I love the pokemon based of of mythical creatures. Phoenixes, Dragons, Unicorns, Kitsunes, Kappas, the Loch Ness Monster, the Tsuchinoko (sp)...

As soon as I'm done with the recolouring, you'll see how much prettier Ho-Oh could have been if he looked more like an actual Rainbow.

I'm also working on a mini legendary if there was one for Crystal. She's obviously Ice/Psychic and is soooo pretty!

Speaking of whom, what are the chances of finding Suicune in the wild in Firered? Or can it appear at all in that game?
I really want a legendary dogcat on my team, and you can't trade from the older versions. =(

Also, is it possible to get any of the Gold/Silver/Crystal starters in Firered? I miss training Totodile. =/

As it happens you can't catch them wild. I myself have both Jirachi and the the three Legendary Beasts from Ruby/Sapphire used versions. They where on the previous owners files. Trust me, if you want any of the legendarys or the beasts, your best chance is used copies. But it's also a chance sort of thing if you feel like risking the money... x3

She was on Ruby, the beasts where on Sapphire. I believe both games belonged to the same owner, as the hero's names where the following:

Ruby: Nishan
Sapphire: Lishan

That's no coincidence. Regardless, the Beasts and Jirachi are now my prized pokemon. Whith that said, would you be willing to try?

Well as much as I'd love to have them, I'm a bit reluctant to buy a bunch of Ruby and Sapphire games until I hit the jackpot. =/

Ever noticed that all the fire starter have been the coolest, the grass the second coolest, and the water the ugliest? A mean a turtle, a crocodile, and a mudfish...That's pretty ugly. But a dragon, and echidna, and a bird...That's bad ass.

Water never seemed to get it's big break until D/P. Now, fire is a freaking flaming butt monkey, whereas water is a regal penguin. And loads of people seem to prefer Empoleon over Infernape. In the older days most people prefered the fire clan.

People preferred fire types, because they were faster and stronger. They just didn't have as much defense.

I recall on my first time playing pokemon red, I took out my rival's Blastoise with Charizard at level 63. I didn't have any other pokemon to use, but I won through lots of hyper potions.

Just to spite the game programers I always battle my rival with my starter, weakness or not. XD

Unfortunatly, my rivals where never tough, starter pokemon or not.

I just don't see why they waited up until now to have a semi-pretty water starter. Water is supposed to be pretty, while fire is supposed to be tough. But all the finals of the starters have been tough looking and big. But look at Blaziken, she's a slender pokemon XD. I do have a female Blaziken because my main character was of course a female, so now I can't see her as male, especially with those "pigtails". XD

Anyway, I really like the "pretty" pokemon like Milotic, Gardevoir, Lopunny, ect. But I also like the strong looking ones like Gachomp, Gallade, Lucario, and Flygon.

Why don't they just kill Male Gardies completely? Now that we have Gallades why don't need cross-dressing freaks...>_>

I thought of that too, but I think it's too late for that because Gardevoir already can already be male in the previous versions. >:

I'm so getting a Gallade on my team, though. 8D Pretty funky. I also like the Psychic/Fighting type mix.

And I agree that Palkia is pretty bleh looking. XD It's not the pink that bugs me, though. It's.. the structure of how it looks (especially the neck). Pretty weird. Perhaps it's stronger than it looks, though...

Glaceon also deserves much love.

That's because alot of Pokemon (oh gosh, I actually typed this in XD) people who live the in America associate the Pokemon games with the anime, which is pretty mediocre and a downright bad game adaption (and... objectionable), even though I do like the show. Sad too, considering the games are decent handheld games (and the manga's a decent manga). The Diamond and Pearl anime is pretty fun though (along with a great remix of the BGM from the Diamond and Pearl games and some anime-exclusive stuff, which will probably be canned by Pokemon USA aside from two pieces a episode like they're doing recently), even though it's still episodic like the two series that preceded it.

For people anticipating the release of Diamond and Pearl in the US, be prepared. From what I've heard and seen from people who already played the game and borrowed imports of the game from Japan, it's one of the best games in the franchise.

I certainly play teh Pokemon. I don't know where I would be today had I not been introduced to the series at the tender age of 8 years. I've played at least one game from every generation and look forward very much to the release of Diamond and Pearl. I used to watch the TV series and I frequently watch it over my little brothers' shoulders whenever it's on. It's just enough to keep my interest with the series.

I'm looking forward to this game, I'm probably importing Diamond for my birthday and plan to use a team of pokemon who look good rather than have excellent stats which should change my style of play, drastically, to say the least.

In any case it'll be enjoyable, especially seeing as I'm not really paying for it...

Actually... you CAN get Suicine in the wild in Leaf Green/Fire Red.

If you choose Charmander as your starter, he'll be running around Kanto after you beat the Elite 4 and get the national Dex.

Similarly, you get Entei if you picked Bulbasaur and Raikou if you picked Squirtle.

Ah, I've started playing Pokemon Diamond. It's great but it's a tiny bit slow compared to the others. The loading times are unnoticeable but you catch on to it. I'm too used to the quickness on the GBA games (maybe that's because I use an emulator to play them Oops )

DIAMOND AND PEARL ARE OUT TODAY! :O

I've been playing my Pokemon Ranger almost non-stop yesterday (technically, it's still today, depending how you look at it), trying to get that blasted Manaphy egg, but it's nowhere to be found! D: I'm filling my browser, though, in hopes it will appear before i go and get Diamond and Pearl. I'm getting both, though, and using Diamond as my main game. I have two DSes, so i can transfer the starter from one onto the other, and then pwn my rival all cheater-loser like. D: or something. but first, i play through one game entirely.

but i must first finish Ranger... D: stupid few more pokemon, hidden all secret-like... D:

for the record, though, i've played one game from each 'set', at least. I've played Crystal, which came with my first gameboy, i then got Red, which i beat a few times before i heard about missingno, who i exploited to the max, and then my game died and i lost interest.

Then, i got both Ruby and Sapphire, which i recently traded away. D: I ended up getting 201 pokemon in Ruby, though, which i keep hidden away in case someone tries to steal it or something. i never did find Deoxyys, though, despite having the card you need to get it.

Then, i got FireRed and LeafGreen, which i played out as well... then i rented Pokemon Mystery Dungeon for the DS and didn't like it. i got Pokemon Ranger for christmas, and then i've 'cleared' story mode. just doing the after party stuff now.
