Firstly, this is the wrong area for the topic. Since it's for Trials and Tribulations it should really be in the Hazakura(in) section. And to answer your question, here's a quote from Grossberg.
Quote:
:grossburg: Accidental murder is still murder, you know
So the answer is that he would've been charged for murder. So there you go :3

But...manslaughter is accidental murder.
So he'd be charged with that instead of first-degree murder.

The law in the PW world doesn't work like that. If you accidently kill someone, then it's counted as murder. You might not get the death penalty, but it's not impossible. It shows how bad the law system has got really ^_^

Isn't 3rd degree murder the same as manslaughter?

If so, Grossberg was technically correct.

Simple--nothing would've happened.

There wouldn't be a series for us to see what Nick's sentence was because when we saw the case, that was actually Nick reminiscing the case.
He'd be dead...therefore, no flashback to see. :garyuu:
Too lazy... hur hur.

hm. that makes my head hurt. he was flashbacking on a case, he was found innocent, however, if he were found guilty we wouldnt know, because he would be sentenced to death, or just put in prison, resulting in us never having the series, him never becoming a defense attorney...therefore no flashback....so...uh..*head explodes*

I woulda liked it more, actually....such a sad ending, but my favorite character would still be out there.
Spoiler: TnT
Seriously, learning that Dahlia had been executed put me in depression. Aside from Fawles, she is the character who I was the most sad to see go.

There totally should have been some sort of screen when you get game over on the Mia cases where Phoenix says something like: "Wait, that's not how it happened, was it?" Or just yells at the player for causing a TIME PARADOX!!!

Apparently in California, (which I believe is where the localized version is located) there are only two degrees, so it would just be manslaughter.
However, the prosecution was making it out that he deliberately pushed him into the wire or severed the wire with the first push and then used another to seal the deal. That would be second degree murder.

Mia Fey: Ace Attorney

I hear people who has sat years in jail can't be employed in a law firm or the like.
