I haven't seen too much of this anime yet, I have read only the first volume and seen 3 episodes, but this anime for some reason is quite appealing to me. I find it very entertaining. There are many references throughout the series (in the anime mostly) from what I have seen, like a psyche lock from PW in episode 3! Anyways, its about a suicial teacher who is teaching a class full of students each with their own unique and crazy perks. I was just wondering if anybody else has seen this and what they think of it.

It's not so much that he's super suicidal (okay, he is but that's not all) but that's he's overly pessimistic. He's only able to see the worst in every situation. Although with a name that when shortened means 'despair' I'd be pretty pessimistic too. Actually, I haven't seen him do a suicide attempt in a while. (Or I don't remember one in the last episodes I watched) I think the animators realized it was very possible to overdo the suicide joke every episode. (but you can't ever overdo "I'M IN DESPAIR.") I don't even think he tried killing himself after discovering Meru's true nature in episode 4, when I thought for sure he would. (it's hilarious tho how his given name, Nozomu, actually means hope. lolwhut)

Anyways, this show is epic shit. It's awesome and hilarious. I love the girls, they're all so insane. Abiru's tail fetish cracks me up.

My favorite has got to be Meru, the girl who never speaks except in e-mail, and she's an abusive e-mailer at that. I love the 'Meru meru meru meru' sound effect that's made as she writes her e-mails. Also got to say I'm fond of Matoi and Kiri. For a stalker, Matoi is pretty tame. She isn't as crazy as she could be. Then again, sensei probably interferred at the right time. If she had remained in love with that other guy she might've resorted to violence eventualy. Sensei is also pretty lenient with her. I've almost stopped viewing her as a stalker. She seems more like a very affectionate dog.

Kiri's just cute. Same with Maria.


Anyways I'm up to episode 9. I wish a.f.k. would finish with the subs already. Otherwise the series is gonna get licensed before they're done...all because they're working on Clannad which is being subbed by 16 other groups....
