Because we need somewhere to talk about and show pictures of our pets. Here are my babies:

Snowy, pretending to be a bat

Sunny, actually being what he is, which is an attention whore

Bullet, wondering WTF kind of game this is

And the rest (in our family, but not really mine):

Lavendor

G-hawk

Simon- We never brought this guy home. He just one day showed up and decided to live on our front porch. XD But you can tell he at one point had an owner because he's extremely friendly.

What... I searched for topics with... oh crap, I just realized messed up the search. >< This one needs deleting, then. Then again, that one is months old anyway. Whatever, you'll just have to live with this one unless it's deleted.

I have an Irish Wolfhound named Fenrir, a Norwegian Forest Cat AND a North Atlantic Giant Squid[/fantasy]

I has a small fluffy white dog. It's a cross between a Lhasa Apso, and a Tenerife Terrier. He's cute as fuck, but at the same, he'll swallow your eyes if given the chance.

Flintoff, who is two now, and likes cameras far too much.

And, I have four other cats, but I don't have pictures of them :yuusaku:

I'm one of those "pet freaks" you hear about, who buys organic food for their pets and makes special blends for them, and has to have everything perfect.. yeah. plus I have more than most can handle, I found that out when trying to find a pet sitter a few times, haha..

the rats:
Guiness- 3 year 2 month old rat (rats only live 2-3 years, with 2 being common... he's the last of his family left alive) he's a black irish, with hind leg paralysis and muscle degeneration... his entire family was part of a big rescue, many were rehomed but some still stayed with me. Guiness is the only one left alive now.
http://spinymice.com/rats/rakushunguiness1.JPG

Rakushun- 6 month old silvered blue berkshire dumbo
http://spinymice.com/rats/rakushun2.JPG

Spartacus- 2 year old black hooded (VERY cage and rat aggressive, he lives by himself, but is fine with being held and pet OUTSIDE his cage)
http://spinymice.com/rats/spartacus1.JPG

Casanova- 11 month old pink eyed white rescue boy, despite living for days with a snake being starved, he's the sweetest thing ever!
http://spinymice.com/rats/casa5.JPG

unnamed rat so far, just picked him up last week- 3 month old mink hooded blazed roan downunder oddeye who carries MANX, lol! He's from a really wonderful and one of the best breeders IMO, ever. the roan gene has already faded his downunder stripe to barely there.. eventually he'll be completely white!
http://spinymice.com/rats/tekbaby5.JPG

rat cage- http://spinymice.com/rats/casafn1.JPG
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cat- Hope, siamese mix (but I Like calling her a blue lynx point siamese mitted... because it sounds exciting). She's about 4 years old, going on 5.
http://www.spinymice.com/hopespay2.JPG
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rabbits- Hazel and Clover, both are 4 years old, male and female (both FIXED of course) mini rex rabbits. They're actually not mine, but they're my man's two funny bunnies.. I guess they're "ours" now, haha.
http://spinymice.com/buns/buns3.JPG

rabbit cage (it's been redone since the move to the bigger house.. but this is what it used to look like, it's 7 blocks wide now and two levels instead of three. same material though)
http://www.spinymice.com/rabbitcagebigger.JPG
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ferrets- Ichi and Ni (Nny). Ichi was dumped off at our doorstep last year, he's about 4+ years old according to the vet and has already cost me over 1000 in vet bills.. he now has adrenal, and I'm afraid he's at the end of the line... whoever dumped him off on us, I'm glad he's in capable hands now, but he has had so many medical problems, it pisses me off. Nny isn't even a year old yet, and was aquired to be a friend to Ichi, which she is, but she's EVIL as all hell! She is NOT handleable at all and gouges skin out when she does bite. they have their own bedroom.
http://spinymice.com/random/ferret3.JPG
(only pic of Nny I have is one of her as a baby.. during introductions in the bathtub)
http://spinymice.com/random/ni4.JPG

ferret cage (ignore my REALLY messy bookcase next to it, this was shortly after our move and I was unpacking boxes.. we only moved a couple months ago, haha. the ferrets are now in their own bedroom upstairs). the cage on top is a hospital cage, is unoccupied right now.
http://spinymice.com/rats/fn2.JPG
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Spiny mice- I used to breed egyptian spiny mice.. after I had my son I took a break from breeding, and didn't get back into it. it's been too long and my guys are all over 2 years old, some are as old as 5!! Spiny mice live 3-5 years, unlike regular mice who only live 1 1/2 -2 (seen one live to be 3 but that was one old mouse). My spinies have been featured in a past exotic veterinary magazine, even made front cover, although the pic they chose wasn't my best...
http://spinymice.com/spinytwosomebabies.jpg
http://spinymice.com/lucyspines3.JPG
http://www.spinymice.com/satin9cream.jpg (BIG closeup, beware)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last but not least, My banner-tailed Kangaroo rat, Muad'dib! She's not the friendliest, she has to come to you, you can't come to her. Other than that she'll sit on your shoulder (for a bit, she can't climb at ALL, haha.. no grip! she's made for jumping and racing as fast as she can). She's 3 years old, they supposedly live 12+? They're VERY rare in the pet trade, though, almost nonexistant... the kangaroo rats you see in the pet trade are the Ord's roo rats. Banner taileds are solitary animals, and pretty much all the ones seen are related to eachother

my brother has a guinea pig, but is scared of her because she bites him... for some reason, animals never really love him much =) so she's pretty much mine now, seeing my guinea pig died several years ago after the vet who was taking our usual vet's place during the holidays murdered her by handling her too rough and by the time the real vet came back she couldn't be saved anymore =/ but yeah, his guinea pig's called 'Bruintje' cause he sucks with names like that =/ (it basically means she's brown...which she is, obviously)

and we have a dog at home named Clever, he's cool since I taught him to bark and jump at people on command (great when my brother annoys me), plus a 'friend' tried fighting me once and attempted to tackle me and throw me on the floor, and the dog jumped at him barking and nailed him with his pawns in the painful place.... I laughed...a lot.. =)

anyway, here are some pictures of my dog:
Spoiler: Clever when he was little

That's my baby Oblina, she sleeps with me every night which is kinda annoying since I can't turn, and she thinks I'm a tree and climbs up my back and sits on my shoulder. Fun times :sawit:
She's a Maine Coon Cat and most people thinks she's a little puppy. She plays fetch some times so I don't know. She has a sister but I don't have any pic of her atm.

On a side note, I used to have a parakeet years ago... but he died at 12 years of age.. man, I had him from first grade until I was in college, and we think he might have been a wild import (80's, he had no leg bands either, and was NEVER friendly). So I keep seeing these super friendly parakeets, and then I am reminded of how mean my budgie was.. and I"m all sad, haha

At least the rats come when I call them by name and use their litter boxes to poo. I'm considering training the new rat boy for rat agility courses, he already follows my finger around religiously, so he should be easy to train!

Well, I live in a dog breeding kennel which my mom has. The kennel has been in business for what, 3 years? I guess so...

Anyways, we breed chow chows and currently we own 6 chows (2 males, 4 females) and we've had 3 litters so far. Chow chow is a rather rare breed but very well known for their lion-like features and blue-black tongue. Chow chows are probably the laziest dog breed ever, true chow chows spend most of their day sleeping or lying on the floor. So do our older dogs.

Moving on to the dogs:
Spoiler: Yoyo, 5 years old
Image
Yoyo's, like, the king of our house and pretty much deserves to be one because he's our first chow chow ever. He's such a teddy bear :3

Spoiler: Aisha (Or KING KONG), 3 years old
Image
Aischa... we're not completely sure if she's a dog to begin with. She's like a pig and dog hybrid, or something.

... She's the reason why I'm afraid of leaving my room at nights.

Spoiler: Proxy, 5 years
Image
Mah Poxy poxy pox :3 Proxy's my cuddle dog (she loves to be cuddled.) She's so calm and adorable, hence why we call her princess a lot.

Spoiler: Sunny, 2 years old
Image
Sunny :3 She's from our first litter and is Proxy's daughter. Known for being energetic and happy most of the time. Fits her given name perfectly.

Spoiler: Aaron, 1 year old
Image
Aaron, also known as Mr. Sadface because.... Aww, just look at him!

:( He's always like that.

Spoiler: Pricken (or Pilkku), 8 months old
Image
Our youngest dog, she's from our second litter (and Proxy's daughter as well) and currently she's 8 months old (that pic was taken last summer, she's bigger now.) She's adorable for a pup, doesn't bite much and all. But she likes to eat. A lot.

Oh, and a note. Breeding kennels are sometimes thought as places where the dogs are kept in cages for the most of the time. Well, just so you know, we don't cage our dogs at home. The dogs are part of our family and just wish the best for them. I love the dogs so much.

Awwww, cute birds!

Lessee.... no pics, but here's what I can tell ya.

Icky Cat- Ocicat. He's my baby <3
Juliet- Miniature Dachshund. My sister's. I hate it.
Charles, Diamond, Wills- First two are California Desert Tortoises and the last is a Leopard Tortoise.
Corner Bird- Budgie. He's the bird in the corner. Hence Corner Bird.

I unofficially adopted a stray gray cat up here at boarding school. I call him Shank because he's all mangled and looks like the type of badass mofo that would make a prison shank out of a toothbrush and an unwashed spoon.

I used to have four Madagscan Hissing Cockroaches; Kiba, Winry, Suteki, and Gokiburi. They don't last long. I'm trying to get either a Red-Kneed Tarantula and name it Wendigo or a Spiny Leaf Insect and name it Rakshasa.

And now for my beloved creatures...

Spoiler: Murphy the Wonderhound
Image
This is Murphy, who is a hyperactive jack russel/boxer/beagle mix. She'll be 5 next month :edgy:
Image
She has a habit of eating her foot.

Moving right along, we have...

Spoiler: Edgeworth
Image
My God, I swear that Edgeworth came to life, died, and was reincarnated as this rabbit. The personality is 100% Edgey. Not to mention the colors... could I really have named this rabbit anything else?

Spoiler: Kirara
Image
This is my little sister's rabbit, Kirara. She named it that because it looks nothing like Kirara from Inuyasha.

Spoiler: Glub Glubs
Image
Since I wasn't about to attempt to take pictures of individual fish, here's the aquarium. There's Colonel Sanders, who has a bent spine and therefore bends at a 120 degree angle; there's George, who is a black and orange fish who thinks he's a ninja; there's Tamaki, a silver and yellow fish with whiskers; there's Sammich, who is the same species as George, but is black and silver; and of course we have Mr. Flounder Fins, who I've had since I was 3. He is my senile senior citizen :yogi:

I used to keep exotic roaches years ago! My longest lived was a female madagascar hisser, Abbey, she lived to be just short of 4 years (had her from a teeny nymph on), and Costello, the male, only lived to be 2 years, sadly. The death's head and the giant cave roach both lived for about 2 years, but I had them as adults on.

I've been looking into getting an australian burrowing roach for years and years now, but the price in the US keeps going up! Last I saw they were selling them for $500 dollars for 3... a few years back it was $70 for one, and that was a young nymph. They live 10 years and are the longest lived species of insect, outside of a queen termite, that is. It'll probably be a few more years before getting one, though.... Their primary diet is dead eucalyptus leaves anyway, and honestly the only way to get that readily here is to order a plant from one of those sugar glider sites.

YES. More people need to be like what you just said, Gears... I can't even figure out how anyone could have a pet and think it's just a source of amusement or just an animal and I'm outraged that people exist who are like that. When you get a pet, it should be because you want to love and care for that particular animal for the rest of its life (or the rest of your life, if you're an adult and get a baby macaw or something; those birds can live as long as people and often end up rehomed due to their owners dying first).

Some people might think my dudes are "just cheap budgies", but they're my babies... they go to the avian vet when I'm worried about them, I try to make sure they're on a safe diet and have safe toys (which is a ridiculously lot more tricky than it should be!), and whenever it looks like something might happen, the first thing I do is make sure they're safe, like when our furnace caught fire and I was in the living room, and I ran across the house to my room (which is right above the furnace) and grabbed the cage of my budgie who I had at the time (the only one I had), Alex, and then ran outside. That was quite the exciting day, and she was safe (as was everyone else), so I was happy.

I've got a 8-9 year female tabby cat. She still acts like a kitten half the time. She is still very playful for her age. She tends to sleep alot of the day away, but she is way more active than 90% of the cats her age from what I have seen. She enjoys biting my little brother on a regular basis, and not play biting either. She goes for blood. I have no idea what he has done to her, but she just seems to have something against him.

I thought I was the only one! x3

Burrowing Roaches? Never heard of them.
