The tune in my head kind of sounds like "My Old Man's a Dustman" crossed with "The Sailor Song".

Because you slightly fail? I don't know.

It's too bad that that's the only type of song I can write, or else I'd help.

Anyone working on a song for the beginning of 1-2? I had an idea that might work well for reprise purposes. Still sorting out lyrics, but the main phrase is "It's gonna be fine." Oh, the irony :P

But basically, I think it could serve as Mia's "pep talk" sort of song, and it could tie into a duet with Phoenix when he's really upset, later in the show.

The Doctor, you win Ultimate Cake for writing up a Gant song. We need to work on a 1-5 musical. Seriously, you guys, all the cool kids are in 1-5.

Miss Prince- I remember there was some lyrics Gerkuman wrote up earlier in the thread; I can see that being used for what you're thinking. One of the main reprises can be Mia's duet with Phoenix when it seems like everything's going wrong.

I really like that idea, with the reprise duet with Mia being channeled...or if it was done in 1-4 it could be sort of faded out and she's off stage.

I was thinking it might be a projection on the curtain, or she could be behind a scrim.

This project looks absolutely wonderful...

... Y'know, I've dreamed of making something like this. It's like your taking my dreams... and making them a reality... =_)

I would love to participate in any way. I have always wanted to voice act, and I love to sing and have made many songs up by myself. Since I am still relatively new to C-R (this is actually my first public post :p), I may not know too much about it, but I know everything to the mind's eye about PW. Thank you for your time!

P.S. How do I keep track of this thread? :p :D

I know Maya spontaneously changes in canon, but yeah, we're gonna need an effect to get the switch done. Blackout is good, with maybe a strobe flash to make it seems like something magical is happening, as opposed to "we're blacking out now so the actresses can switch." ;)

Depending on the set, Mia could either come from the wings or be hidden under the defense's bench.

Edit: The strobe would, obviously, be done so as not to light up the Maya/Mia area. Maybe something from the back of the auditorium?

strobing the back of the stage would cause a shillouette on Maya or Mia. the extra actress can hid under the bench, that'd work well. or a trapdoor behind the defense's bech if it's avaliable. as for lighting, what about some tight spots on maya strobing as she's in the prayer ish looking position. pulse faster and faster then boom! blackout fast switch, spots back on mia. then court room lights back up.
wow i'm thinkng about this way too much. going ot go look at the songs now!

We can fiddle with it til we get something that works I figure. It'll be a lot of trial and error, as I don't think people do spirit channeling on stage a lot.

Heho, sorry I haven't been overly available on AIM since Sunday. Currently though I've only got my part and atomicscribble's --- even checked my Junk mail folder and all. Could you guys either resend or update me on your status?

Everyone new interested (sorry I can't reply personally to everyone), like the first post says - you're very welcome to join. We're always thankful for helping hands. Currently though we are still in the script writing phase, which we need the most aid with. Nonetheless, should you be especially talented as a singer, audio engineer or instrumentalist, let us know, too. Send a PM or contact me on AIM (Eth80).

When this is complete, I'm going to convince my Drama teacher (who is also head of the Aviano Community Theater group) to put it on.

...If that's legal, which I don't think it is...

Well, this is a fan-made PW musical without Capcom's direct knowledge so far, so if you wanted to put on a staging you earn money with or that is strongly representative, first we would need to get Capcom's approval, and then you'd need Capcom's approval. :x Imagine we weren't such a bunch of awesome people and would put up screechy arias of Winston Payne, yet be perfectly serious about it. People are traumatised, heavy critics come in. Would Capcom want that?

I don't think Winston has a squeaky voice. He just gets squeaky when he yells because of the strain on his vocal cords. He could have a quite normal voice when he's just speaking. That's my view, at least.

I heard about this from a friend who is semi-famous here. So I started writing a song for Redd White to sing. It's still in the making so I'll submit it when it's done. You will love it. But not enough to be creepy or make out with it...or worse... :ack:

I hope so, since it's hard as hell to sing in a gravely voice, especially as Manfred von Karma. I'm trying it now, and being 19 years old with a pretty clear voice, it's pretty difficult.

I can do a pretty good Edgeworth though, but again, I need to make a few sound bytes, and have a tune to sing with, so that I am sure of what exactly I will have to sing as Edgeworth. I mean, it's obvious Lotta Hart will sing different tunes than Gumshoe and Edgeworth, so I need a few script clips to assist me in the bytes.

Well script clips are just gonna have to wait until we have scripts to clip from. Sounds like it's coming along though, so it shouldn't be too much longer. I'd say we'll probably have a full script by the end of December at the rate we're going, but Christmas will probably slow people down. So we'll see what happens.

Understood.

I'll be able to send a sound byte as soon as I get a clip. This way, I can try out and rehearse for the role of ... whoever I'd be trying to play as.

But I will be a vocalist, make no mistake about it.

Well, I'll put everything into it to make sure it will, however as said I've still only got two parts, one of which is my own. I need writers - urgently. I'm cutting everyone slack and space for real life but please don't let your teammates down, guys.

I really support this project. I can't wait to see it when it's done!

Although I don't think I can help because I'm not much of a singer or anything =/ But I could give ideas... Like, starting the musical with the original in-game music, and then fading it to the musical or something, and doing the same at the end. It would give a nice feel of "taking this from the game and then in the end giving it back" in my opinion... If that makes any sense xD

Good luck to all of you with this!

There is an orchestra track of the original music. As well as several other types of CDs. Since this is a fanwork, and credit will undoubtedly be given at the end, I see no real issue with using some of them.

I've had a sneak preview of AJHunter's Redd White song. It's a parody of "Modern Major General", entitled "Truly Evil Businessman"...

And it's hilarious.
