Who the heck can I put on my friends list? I can't be the only one with a Wii and an online feature. I'd ask others if I could add them, but that seems overly intrusive for a forum message board.
It's just as intrusive as chatting here really. You can't even chat in-game, so it's just playing with people you already know a little. Check out the sticky on top of the page, we've been doing it for ages ;)

also, no one seemed to mention today's update which was king DEEDEEDEE's final smash. personally, it reminded me of the excite bike assist trophy, which didn't make this final smash too memorable..

- Like in Mario Strikers Charged, all characters (and, presumably, stages) will be unlocked when online, but you'll still have to unlock them offline to play with them offline.
- Most characters are unlocked by playing Subspace Emissary...
- Although you can also still play a lot of versus to unlock them.
- When you are disconnected on an online match, you will be replaced by a CPU.
- There's a Team Battle mode. Awesome.

Most of it is obvious stuff; select the option, pick your character and you're in. The stage and items are all picked by lottery, depending on what gets the most selections by the involved players. Probably the best part is that if someone gets disconnected, the CPU will seemlessly take over their character instead of simply dropping them out.
They also cover the issue of seeing characters you haven't unlocked yet. They weren't so keen on unlockable characters this time around, so they recommend playing through the Subspace Emissary and unlocking amost of them before fighting online.

Yeah, You and like every other college student who gets drunk and spends the whole night playing Brawl and eventually passing out from a lack of sleep to only realize they have a major exam the following day.
Today's update was certainly interesting. The fact the computer takes over for dropped out online players is so freakin' awesome. And I like how they are easing up of keeping unlockable chararcters hidden and understanding gamers using techology advances today in the spread of such info.

This is the most Engrish-containing update ever.
Whatever happened to always being connected to the internet? Did they realize that you can't really do that with Wi-Fi very reliably?
Well, duh! Not with you restricting all the information so the kiddies are safe, we don't. Heck, if you wanted to lessen the strain on the servers, you could just make With Anyone battles just be regular local CPU battles; nobody would know the difference, right?
Even Mario Kart showed nicknames and logos. Come on, stop being paranoid.
WHAT?! That's so totally not the definition of "unlockable character"! I'm so glad we get to play as the characters we unlock! (This might be mistranslated - he wanted to say that you would still unlock them in battles after clearing the conditions.)
Also... an update that could have been...

I thought that "Q2" meant the second quarter of a year, so... April, May, and June...?
However, the "+" probably means what you mentioned, that it could be July - December, but I doubt it'll be stalled 'til September... But I don't work there so, what do I know, eh?

And yes, Q2 is April May and June. We know it can't be in Jan, Feb or March since the Q1 data has been finalised (Although the actual dates don't have to be fully finalised yet, just where they're going to be).
