According to the latest issue of Nintendo Power, the Minuku System (the main, new gameplay element in GS4) will now be the Perceive System, and instead of "soko da" as its phrase will use "Gotcha!" whenever Apollo points out a tell. Partial English names for Kawadzu and Romaine have also been revealed, tucked away in the news section (and their profiles).

Thanks to Trilroy for the info. If anyone has a full scan of the article, lemme know!

I can understand "Gotcha!" really, an eye twitch when he starts to lie isn't "Right There!" your eye is twitching there when I show you this evidence! While "Gotcha!" Your clearly lieing about this evidence, your eye twitches when you talk about it. See doesn't it sound better?

I think Romaine will be called Román to keep close to it, since the JP one doesn't sound so different, This hypothesis is brought on due to his last name being LeTuce

That's right, I'm producing something. Expect something to come out of my new production studio.

Agreed. A literal translation like "Right There!" sounds better. Now I'm gonna think of Juudai every time. KENN providing his voice in the trailer doesn't help either (lol).

Gah, I need to get that issue now.

Is this 'Percieve System' the same as the psyche-lock function in JFA/T&T? Or is it something entirely new?

To elaborate on this, it's a feature that's limited solely to the courtroom. It acts as an Extra Sensory Perception (ESP) system. It's a higher sense of focus that allows you to tell when someone is hiding something by finding their "twitchy" spot.

i.e.
Spoiler: 4-2
When Stickler is unsure of something he flips through the pages of his book. Normally, someone without the Perceive System or a higher sense of focus wouldn't pick up on this. But, the Arumajikis and the bracelet on Apollo's wrist can make out such subtleties.

ESP is more like psychic powers, though. The Minuku System is more like ZOOM VISION~~~

I think Gotcha does fit a little better, what with the aim of the system. It also could be the translator's effort to convey that Soko Da is pretty rude to be saying in court. Apollo/Odoroki speaks a lot more roughly than Phoenix did, in the Japanese. :yogi:

I just finished scanning the article. I have the full JPEGs if you need them, Croik. For now, here's the resized photobuckets for those who want to at least try to read it.

So now Apollo Justice says "Gotcha!" instead of "It's There?" Oh well. It's their game, so they can decide. But I did want him to say "Right There" (because someone made a fan-made sprite of that.)

Either way, he'd better have some darn good evidence if he doesn't want to look like a fool for yelling at the witness just because they twitched or something (which we all know he will have darn good evidence anyway because that's how the games work)... XD But "RIGHT THERE!" would be weird because I imagine everyone else going "O_o What's right where?" and thinking he's insane. "GOTCHA!" makes sense, as far as I understand, because you're catching them on something and it's easier for everyone else to figure that out and not think Apollo's insane.

Roman? <3 I hope so, it's my name!
But his surname makes me think that he's french, n'est-ce pas? (I haven't played GS4 yet...)

Aaaanyway, "Gotcha!" sounds really cool and since I didn't play the English versions of Pokémon I won't be reminded of Pikachu & co.
