If you don't have something like GIMP or PhotoShop all you can do is use MS Paint. Put each sprite over the background and save it as a new file. Then put each frame in Movie Maker. (I have something I'm going to try to make into a movie to.)
Good luck! Let us know when it's done!
It would probably be easiest (it may not sound that way tho) is get the sprite sheets, color the background white, and paste it with transparent on. Or find GIMP. It's free, I don't remember where you can get it from. Try a search. It is realy good and almost everyone here uses it so if you need help there are lots who know how it works.
My sig(s if you click the link) and av were made with GIMP.

Don't be a pedant, Deathsoul.

GIMP is one of many programs you could use. Flash, Paint.net and MS Paint are all good choices. The latter two are free.

Flash is not a good choice. It's a last one. While I don't condone the use of it when making sprites I'll at least suggest Animation Shop. :yuusaku:

I use MS Paint to run sprites onto the clipboard. From there I load and save them into Corel. From there I write a color table. After that I run them into Paint Shop or Animation shop for final export. They all look damn awesome.

Microsoft has a great small freeware .gif animator. I suggest simply using that. It's called Microsoft gif animator, surprisingly.

For stitching them together, simply use paint.
