My friend AJHunter was working on a Redd White-inspired parody of MMG, to help out with the musical. It was absolutely hilarious. He was supposed to have it finished by now, but he's not the most reliable of people...

I loved your Redd White! And I agree with you, it should be deeper. Have you sent anything in to Ethed yet? I'd love to hear your singing voice if you're up to it! :wendy:

But I'll send it to Ethed as my demo, and I'll also ask for lyrics to a song he might be singing in the musical itself.

Alright, folks, the Teamspeak server is officially up!

I think it's going to make a very useful tool for this project :D

So here's my quick guide on getting connected and registered:

1) Download the Teamspeak client from http://www.goteamspeak.com/?page=downloads. Make sure you get the client(It's the very top download), NOT the server :P

2) Once it's installed, start it up and go to "Connection --> Quick Connect"

3) Fill out the fields as follows:
- Server address: pwmusical.no-ip.org
- Nickname: [Whatever you want]
- Login Name (optional): [LEAVE THIS BLANK FOR NOW]
- Password: takethat
And click Connect!

4) Now you should be logged in. You can register with the server if you want by going to "Self --> Register With Server", which will allow you to make your own Login Name and Password. I would definitely ask that the Producers and other heads-of-the-project type people at least register so I can give you privileges to make different channels and stuff, and I suggest everyone have their own login :)

The program should automatically detect your microphone setup and everything. Of course, I highly recommend that everyone use a headset. It's also a good idea to go to "Settings --> Sound Input/Output Settings" and set up how you want to talk(you can set it to "push to talk" to push an activation button whenever you talk OR set it to "voice activation" and use the voice activation slider to have it automatically detect when you're talking and at what sound volume level it should detect).

Enjoy, and let me know if there's any problems :D

Serenity, you've got a great singing voice! I'm not sure I agree that your voice is perfect for Mia/Maya, though. Don't get me wrong, I loved the tone and how natural it sounded. The only thing is ... I just couldn't see portraying Mia and Maya as both having southern accents. It's not a thick southern accent, but it's there. I dunno, maybe I'm just being too sensitive of it since I'm from the Midwest and we're supposed to have the most "neutral" accents of anywhere. What does everyone else think?

I can be a lot more northern if I need to. All it takes is a sharper pronunciation of things. Only reason I think I'm suited is because I've heard her say objection. Personally I'd rather do Dhalia/Iris, but those characters won't come into play for quite some time.

EDIT: Also, with winter break coming I'll be able to drag my friend over to the studio and make him record his audition clip. He's going to be shooting for Phoenix, and personally I think he'll make a great one.

A thought just occurred to me ... everyone who's uploaded clips, make sure you PM them to Ethed, too ... he can't be expected to keep track of every single post in the thread :P

And thanks for joining the teamspeak server, Ajer ... hope everyone uses this, 'cause I bet it'll be a lot better than even a chat room for making sure everyone's on the same page. Not to mention even more uses down the line, like impromptu rehearsals and script readings :D I actually got to say a quick hello to Serenity Blue on it earlier, when I logged in to test my microphone. She seems to like the idea a lot, too :)

EDIT: Just realized I've been calling Ethed a HE, when she's clearly listed in the OP as a female :beef: Avatar/sig threw me off, I guess :yogi:

Alright! It's great that so many people want to be involved in this project! It's gonna be freakin' awesome! :larry2:

I know the musical is in the very early stages or production but there are a couple of things that make me a little concerned ...

Voice actors. How many people are needed? If too many people are joining up at the beginning, we might not have enough parts for everyone to act out! I know how negative this sounds, I'm really sorry, but I felt like we really had to address this.

Also, there seems to be developments in script writing and casting but nothing for music composition. Since this is a musical, I think it's important to hear even just the earliest little blurbs of what the feel of the music could possibly sound like. Even three measures of a tiny, low quality midi would help me feel a bit better about this.

Sorry if I'm being rude. I know it's not my place since I'm not on the team or anything but I just want this musical to be as awesome as it sounds! Thanks guys! :phoenix:

WM, a good Redd-style song you might want to consider is "Reviewing the Situation," from Oliver. It's got an imbalanced tempo, where each verse starts off slow and builds to a quick crescendo, but it's got very Redd lyrics, and it's fun to boot.

http://sufface.net/links/oliver-themusical.shtml#rts

Those are the lyrics. Can't help much with a recording of the song, but I'm sure there's one out there to listen to somewhere.

Yeah, sorry about that. I'll try to talk louder next time. But what part wold I be good at? I can do a Fat Albert kind of voice, but I don't think we need one o' thems. I'm better suited to the weirder parts in RFTA and the later games...

Ladies and Gentlemen, we might've found ourselves a Phoenix - a professional. I will update the list with two new chaps, TD being one, but remember as always that positions aren't final, they're merely a suggestion, they're who that person performs very well.

Hi everyone. I've recorded a small clip from the Case 3 news report. I said it exactly from the script in the thread, and I didn't change anything...which is why it says "this morning" twice. Yeah. You might want to fix that.

Here it be.

I was thinking of trying Yanni Yogi as well as Redd... but I keep laughing when I try to sound 32 years older than I really am... lol.

I have completed a song, but I want to also release a secondary version of my original Redd White impersonation... Also, I need to find what I filed the sound clip under, and upload it to Putfile.

I haven't posted in a while. D: So sorry, guys!

I'm going to start the third scene of case 1-3 this week; it'll probably be somewhat longer than the rest with the amount of material to work with. To everyone that wants a piece of the script: I'm going to give everyone one or two scenes to start with. It'll be much easier than just one person taking on one entire case; it's too huge. (This might cause some editing problems, since everyone has a different style of writing, though. We need potential editors too!)

I also signed up with Teamspeak. We need to decide on a universal time that would be easy for everyone, despite time differences. That way we can group and talk about musical stuff in real time. :D

So, I tried getting on the teamspeak, but I'm having a lot of trouble...

For starters, appearantly I'm generating a lot of feedback, so I was asked to lower the volume (or use headphones, which I was already doing), so I lowered the volume until it was almost inaudible. Then, I just couldn't seem to get my microphone to work. :/

A few of us on Teamspeak got a chance to hear Skankin's tryouts for Phoenix Wright. Wow. I'm going to have to completely agree with Ethed ... Skankin really will make an awesome Phoenix. As Gumshoe, I already initiated him by calling him Harry Butz :P

Also, if you have Winamp, that plays OGG files. It doesn't do it automatically, so you'd have to either right click and select Play in Winamp, or set up Winamp's file associations to automatically play OGG stuff.
