Edan grabbed his sister's shoulder. "Woah there, Cowgirl. What's wrong?" He released his grip after she'd began to calm down and starting taking breaths.

"Ah, perfectly fine. Ja, everything's great. New album on the way, you know? Ich bin very happy," he said with a decidedly unhappy puss. Rolling his eyes, he tucked into the chips he'd gotten, which forced him to noisily drain his cup of coke when he realised he'd oversalted them to the enth degree.

Linali smacked her head against the dashboard, attempting to knock some sense into herself, and pressed up flat against the seat, her hand still on the door handle. The distorted voice on the other side of the phone laughed sharply. It was impossible to even tell whether it belonged to a man or a woman with all the static.
"Ask Linali... Also, get a clean... team here or somethi... This woman... mess... Everywhere..." Then, the tone came, and the phone went dead.

"... I see." Apollo mumbled, feeling insensitive. He really wished that he'd gone to burger king now... He had no clue what to say to Klavier, and ended up self conciously running a hand over his spikes, flattening them for a second.

Blake growled like a feral dog as he threw the girls phone down on her seat. He took one of those undercover cop siren lights out from under his seat and plunked it on top of his car. As it went off he sped dangerously down the road. Anyone without a seatbelt would have been mercilessly jerked around like an angry chef tossing a salad. Despite the cold urgency he was trying to exude for the situation, a small smile rested on his lips. Inside he was giggling giddy little schoolgirl.

As Valarie walked, a whole gust of wind came at her. "Holy sh-.." She mumbled as she tried to regain balance, apparently the wind came from the car with sirens that just passed. A small smile came across her face beside the fact that she knew something was wrong. She started to walk faster.

~12:35 PM Location, outside the Courthouse~

In truth, Athena felt like she was dying throughout the entire ordeal, but she was able to steady her nerves and pulled out of there smelling like a rose. She still remembered the look on that prosecutor's face...what was his name? Prayne or something? Anyway, She felt completely relief after taking on such a case, and proving her client innocent.

She checked her watch. "Looks like I have enough time to grab something to eat before heading back to the office." She then hiked down a taxi. "Take me to the nearest burger joint." Though she watches her figure, Athena doesn't mind a burger now and then.

Blake turned another sharp corner and the childish laughter rolling inside of him bubbled out when the car almost lifted onto two wheels. He couldn't really help looking and sounding a little crazy in that particular moment.
As they drew closer to their destination Blake pulled back on his reckless driving and yanked the siren from the top of his car. He didn't want to risk any real detectives seeing him with it.
"Almost there, little miss." His voice had calmed down considerably from only a moment ago, but some light giddiness was still present. "How are we all doing?"

"M..." Linali could barely talk, shellshocked by Blake's reckless driving, and the sudden switch in his behaviour. He almost reminded her of Scarlet, in a way, and that made her feel even more tense than she was already. "W-We're going to be too late..." The thought made her sick.

Blake had his 30watt smile screwed back on as they pulled into the studio.
"Don't worry. Only one person has every died when I was around. I plan to keeping it that way." It was almost creepy how serious his voice sounded compared to the giant smile plastered on his face. Though not as creepy as it might have sounded if he'd said that with humor.
Blake threw open his door and didn't even bother to close it as he dashed through the parking lot.

Linali picked up her mobile nervously and raced after him; slamming the door shut behind her out of habit. Despite her size and clothing, she was surprisingly nimble as she sprinted into the main door of the studios, waving at the security guard. She appeared to have calmed down somewhat.

This was Blake's first time in a real studio, and it only figured that it would be because someone was in danger. He rushed through sets that were way too familiar to him to be healthy and did his best to not knock anything over in his haste to find the woman who needed help. It didn't even occur to him that Lin might know exactly where she was and could just lead him there.

Linali ended up running in the opposite direction in her own haste, heading for her Manager's office, nearly tripping over her own feet. She dashed past several familiar faces, waving at them in a rushed fashion, before skidding to a halt at the door to the corridor she was looking for. Peering in, it was empty. With complete disregard for her own safety, she bolted down the passage and flung open the chipped and generally old door, slamming it back into the wall.
In that precise moment, time stopped in Linali's little world, and she sank down onto her knees as her legs weakened at the surreal scene in front of her.
Defintely, undoubtedly, far too late.

Edan came upon the scene minutes after his sister. He didn't see the need to rush. There were 24 bleeding hours in a day for Christ's sake. "Hey, Lin? What's up? She get her hair caught on the curling iron ag-" His acidic talk failed him once he noticed the horrific scene laid out before them.

Apollo choked on a chunk of chip and slammed his fist into his chest, wide eyed, managing to gasp out,
"... What?!"

Viridian was beyond dead. Her arms were twisted around her back in a way that was definitely against physics, and were bound tightly together with cord. One of her feet was missing, and following a trail of blood along the floor with one's eyes would reveal it's location by the chair at the desk of the room, shoe still on. However, the primary focus was upon the woman herself. Her face was thankfully hidden by her hair, but judging from the amount of blood pooling from her head, it could be easily assumed that it was ruined, smashed to pieces.
Her clothes were still largely intact, save from a large rip through her torso and shirt; a thick gash running down the center of her body. She had been gutted like a pig. Her innards were splayed across the floor in an almost careful fashion, organised into neat (but decidedly disgusting) piles across the carpet. Next to her hidden visage was a cordless phone; the thing at which she had uttered her last words too.

The room, combined with the smell, was staggeringly grotesque; almost appearing to be a warped work of art.
Linali could barely breathe.

Edan wasn't quite as shocked as Linali was. With all those nights of staying up watching gory B-Movie horror flicks with Carly, he'd developed an immunity to it. Nevertheless, he hadn't seen an actual dead body before in his life, and was curious. He'd leant in for a closer look at her face. The blood had already dried into her face, her cheeks stained with crimson and tears. Her nose had been broken several times with some of the shiny bone poking through the bloodied flesh. Curling his lip, he leant down to her wound and being the curious and horrible little nit he was, he touched the squishy bloody exposed muscle which was accompanied by a scream from his big sister.

"Jesus, Lin. Calm down," he said before returning to examining the body. Boy, they didn't teach them this in school.

Linali raced out of the room into the corridor to attempt to steady herself, and to get the horrible smell out of her system. She was in shock- but still functioning. They day really was horrible. She took out her mobile and tried to rack her confused mind to figure out what she should do next. It's happened again... She thought miserably, and her thumbs hovered over the dialpad with uncertainty.

Blake was just in time to catch Lin as she rushed out and he made the mistake of looking into her eyes. He was such a dumb sap when it came to girls, especially upset ones. He wasn't really smiling as he walked gently over to her, and his eyes were shaking a little as he tried to keep any tears from coming out and rolling down his face. Why was it that around pretty women he found it hardest to be a man?
He fiercely fought back all urges to yank her into a hug and instead decided it would be best to check out the scene of the crime.
He stopped rather suddenly at the display before him, and the stoic reserve he managed to muster helped cover his desire to take the organs and put them back where they belonged. As if this simple act would be enough to bring the woman to life. But he knew all too well that just putting someone together again wasn't enough.

Blake stepped back out and cast his watery blue eyes towards Lin and her as yet to be named brother. He could feel himself starting to lose his calm already.
"We need to seal this place off until the police arrive." He said darkly and wished he had his hat on so he could lower it enough to make the shadow cover his face.

"Mmhmm..." Linali mumbled in agreement, glad that someone had arrived to tell her what to do; jumbled as her thoughts were. "Edan, get out of there..." She continued, voice firm but thin as her fingers continued to undecidedly hover over her phone.
Still unsure, she looked across at Blake, trying to keep her eyes steady.
"I... I think they'll need my phone because... Because the conversation is on there, so... B-Before someone takes it, am I... Am I allowed to call someone?" That was it. She wanted to talk to someone, anyone, she didn't care who or whether it would be helpful or not. She just needed someone elses voice to snap her back to reality; someone who wasn't involved in this mess.

Blake didn't get many violent tendencies, and maybe it was just the stress of the situation mixed with that bottle of scotch he'd downed before the morning was up and the appalled look on Lin's face when just then, but Blake really wanted to punch that boy in the face.
"Well...in a situation like this...I sometimes call my priest..." Blake offered meekly and rubbed the back of his neck so that his hand wouldn't plunge into her brother's chin. "But I don't guess you'd want to call my priest..." With as well as Blake knew people it took him much too long to realize that the girl wanted anyone to talk to. Anyone at all. "Maybe you'd rather just tell me what's going on?"

"Edan." Linali wiped the back of her hand across her forehead. "That body in there belongs to my Manager. Someone who I've known for years and... I'd... appreciate it if you took this seriously..." She ground out through her teeth, and tapped the first number into the phone that came into her head.
The body promptly started ringing; playing out the Samurai of Izanami theme.
"..." That did it. Linali let out a pitiful wail and dropped everything she was holding, smashing her head into the corridor wall, hands pressed flat against the smooth surface.

Blake jumped when she slammed into the wall.
"U-um." He took a deep breath and forced himself to man up. "Don't cry, little miss." He said this way too harshly so he softened his tone for his next words. "You'll stain that pretty face of yours with sorrow." Okay, so he stole that line from a manga he'd translated about a month ago, but it was appropriate at least and he delivered the line with such suavity he was actually sort of proud of himself. He stepped over to them lightly to get his phone back.

Linali breathed deeply through her nose, attempting to calm down. She began to push Edan away by pressing a hand to his forehead. "I DON'T NEED A HUG. ... I just... I just want to get this OVER with!" She snapped uncharacteristically, completely ignoring her own tears, despite the fact that they were making seeing incredibly difficult. "Okay... Okay... I'm okay... R-Right..."

Blake snapped back the hand he'd extended for the phone like it was about to get bitten by a dog. This was because it was set on vibrate and had jiggled down the floor a ways.
"Blake Barker." He announced when he picked it up and answered it. "I'm sorry, but I'm not taking any new clients right now." He declared and snapped it shut. He then walked over to the door and closed it. "Have you called the police yet, Ms. Blake?" He asked, his tone now back to the way it had been when they first met. The call had been enough to pull him back to reality.

Linali promptly picked up her own phone once more, vigorously rubbing her eyes, before scrolling through her recorded calls. It was there. She then promptly went scrolling through her phonebook.
"... I... I haven't called them yet, no..."
Despite Blake's advice, she used her mobile anyway. She couldn't help it. But instead of ringing the police, she rang Klavier Gavin out of habit.
Because everyone knows that when in doubt, the Gavins have the answers.

Blake leaned against the newly closed door with his arms crossed and a cold stern look on his face. This wasn't anything new for him. Had the girl not been there he wouldn't have even reacted to it at all. His eyes shifted over to her brother for a moment, then back to Lin with her phone pressed against her ear. It was time for him to slip back into the shadows for a while. He'd rushed into this situation recklessly over a pair of doey green eyes and a sweet unsure smile. He had no reason or need to be hanging around at all. Of course he had no where to go now either, since the client he was supposed to meet had just called to see where he was and he had canceled the contract. Maybe Mr. Gavin would compensate him for his time? Probably with a CD and a signed headshot. Blake sighed softly and closed his eyes.

Valarie lost trail of where the car was going, she sighed to herself in frustation and wondered, Where were they going? Where were they goi- Valarie guessed they were going to the studio so she rushed up the road as fast as she could.

She then finally reached there, panting, she checked that her trusty gun was with her.She then calmly walked inside and walked in the corridor. Valarie then bumped into Linali, Edan and Blake.
"Um, I saw this car with sirens racing towards here...any idea what's been going on?" Valarie obviously wasn't aware of the slightly shocked and upset faces.

"Hello again, detective." Blake greeted her with his signature smile. "We're just waiting for reinforcements to arrive." He didn't get off of the door he was leaning against. He wasn't purposefully hiding the room from her, he just didn't want to risk losing his cool again by moving.

Blake rolled his eyes up at her as if he were looking over the brim of his hat, but since it wasn't there some of the effect was lost. When his eyes connected with Valerie's he decided to stare nonchalantly off to the side.
"You'll get to see in a minute." He hadn't meant for that to come off quite as creepy as it did.
Once the brother was gone he blinked over at Lin.
"Will he be okay?" He asked her.

"It's okay." Blake lied. He knew it would be bad when the police checked her call record and saw she called Mr. Gavin instead of them when she found the body, but surely they could understand how stunned she was. He kept his best smile on for the two women in his presence. "You shouldn't frown so hard, little miss." The cheer in his voice was a little forced, but under the circumstances that might have been for the best.
