Hi guys! I finally set up a page for this on last fm. It's my first time using the site so if you have any suggestions please feel free to give them.

http://www.last.fm/music/PW+Musical+Tea ... ts+Storage

I only uploaded one beat called "Dark Logic". Meant for the orginal song "Logic and Trick". I realize it's not song really worth listening to or maybe kinda dark for musical/phoenix wright purposes, but I just uploaded it because I'm not working on it currently. I'll keep uploading random stuff for it and again if you guys have suggestions or want to upload something there just let me know. I don't make a song if I'm not 100% with the beat.

I guess the reason I wanted to quit before is because the stuff I'm making seems a bit out of place for a musical. It's almost selfish since I'm making things to my tastes (I'm a rap/rock/salsa/R&B --- Pop Person). I don't have real drama expierence, but I did a commerial before! People have told me a lot I could a great actor and my script ideas were great (In school, I was in TV/film production), so maybe that's something I'm better suited for... like writing.

I can't use TeamSpeak, but I'll log into my msn account on Friday (The meet up day?) if anyone wants to talk to me in person. I would be happy to. Before I forget, in my circle of friends we have something called "The Late Santa Express" which sends gifts to kids who didn't get something for Christmas kinda like toys for tots. I realize it might be embarrassing, but if you have a lil brother or sister who didn't get anything let me know.

First off, I hope everyone had a happy holiday and got whatever they wanted, as well as spent some quality time with family. :D

I say Friday around 12 PM (in the U.S.; I'm not sure what that would translate into for GMT).

Chihiro: I think that's a fantastic start to a song, actually! It would go well if it faded into something orchestrated; we could definitely use it for when Phoenix hits trouble in court.

Wow, this sounds like a really awesome project! I can wait to see it!

If you're still looking for people, I'm no good in the singing or songwriting departments, but I do play alto saxophone (E-flat). If you have parts written I could probably get around to playing them when I have the time.

Happy nondenominational holiday :redd:

Just listened to Dark Logic, and it sounds pretty good. It sounds like it's a small intro to lead into more instruments, or as a foundation for the rest of it.

What time zone in America do you live in?

Chihiro, dark songs can be used in musicals very easily. It just depends on the mood for a particular scene (have you seen any of the ads for Sweeney Todd?! ^_^) Like atomicscribble said, it can be used for when Phoenix is in court or something. I know you said that you compose songs in a sort of pop/hip-hop style but I've heard hip-hop songs make rewrite of songs from musicals or even use them as a sort of background vocal. Your songs can be translated into musical style, I think, with a change of beat and/or instument in the composer program you're using.
I think it's a great start to a song. :minuki:

Here's some more of the script guys!

Spoiler: Scenes Nine and Ten
[SCENE NINE]

[Open to the inside of the boat rental shop. Phoenix and Maya enter and look around for a moment before and old man stumbles in.]

Old Man: Meg! Is that you?

Maya: (visibly jumps) Eeek! (Hides behind Phoenix)

Old Man: Hey, is that Keith with you?! Where have you two been? I’ve been worried sick.

Maya: (Still behind Phoenix) You handle this Nick.

Phoenix: Uh, I think I’ll leave this one up to you Maya.

Old Man: Meg!

Maya: Y-yes?

Old Man: finally made up your mind, have you?

Maya: My….mind?

Old Man: You’ll run the pasta shop when I’m gone?

Maya: Pasta…?

Old Man: glad to hear it, glad to hear it! You make your old man proud. When you kids left the house, I didn’t know what to think. How’m I supposed to keep this place running, an old man like me? Polly! The kids are home!

Polly: Hello! Hello! Squawk! (Note: Polly would most easily be done with a dummy and someone speaking off-stage.)

Maya: N-Nick! What was that?

Phoenix: a parrot, probably that one on the perch.

Old Man: Keith!
Phoenix: Y-yes?

Old Man: I leave the “Wet Noodle” in your capable hands, sonny.

Maya: nick? What’s the “Wet Noodle”?

Phoenix: Um…based on the available evidence, I’d say it’s the name of his pasta shop.

Old Man: That’s a relief, isn’t it Polly

Polly:

[Old Man slumps over. Phoenix goes over and checks on him.]

Phoenix: He’s asleep…guess he’s relieved.

[Maya pokes Old Man and he wakes up.]

Old Man: Huh? Wuzzat?…an attorney’s badge?

Phoenix: Yeah it is…

Old Man: I get it.

Phoenix: huh?

Old Man: Ayup, I gout you figured out now! You’re not Keith!

Maya: Nick, let’s clear things up!…Please?

Phoenix: no, I’m not Keith sir.

Maya: And I’m not Meg, either!

Phoenix: We’re here investigating a murder that took place in this lake the other night.

Maya: Please, help us!

Old Man: A lawyer, huh? Alright I’ll help, but on one condition.

Maya: What’s that?

Old man: When the case is over and done with…you’ll run the “Wet Noodle”!

Phoenix:…Okay, we promise.

Maya: N-Nick! Are you sure about this?

Phoenix: Hey, anything to get the case solved. Also…Who wouldn’t want to eat “Phoenix Noodles”?

Maya: I…guess so?

Old Man: That’s my boy! Good fro you, Keith!

Phoenix: Wait, didn’t I just say…

Old Man: You too, Meg!

Maya: Y-yes?

Old Man: You bring a tear to your old man’s eye, you know. What is it that you wanted to know? Speak up, Polly!

Polly: Hello! Hello!

Phoenix: Er…Sir, could you tell us about the other night.

Old Man: I know all about that! I seen it!

Maya: What?! Tell us! Tell us what you saw!

Old Man: Well, I suppose…since you’re taking over the shop and all. I forget the time, but it was pretty dark outside…probably night, ayup. Then I heard this “bang”! So I looked outside. Then I heard another “Bang”! A little while later, this boat comes back. Then a young man walked by the window here. He was mutterin’ something to himself, ayup.

Maya: what did he say?

Old Man: Ayup…. I forgot. I’ll remember tomorrow by court time, promise.

Maya: We need to know earlier than that…!

Old Man: you know what? Eh? Little Terry was just here.

Phoenix: “Terry”…?

Old Man: Ayup, that kid next door, you always used to make him cry, remember? He was wearin’ this tattered old coat. Got himself some whiskers growing out of his face. He comes up and tells me to come down to court tomorrow.

Phoenix: Really…Maya, maybe we should be leaving.

Maya: I think you’re right. Oh, wait-I had one more question.

Phoenix: Huh?

Maya: Polly! Polly! Have we forgotten something?

Polly: (squawks) Don’t forget DL-6!

Maya: H-huh?! What did she just say, Nick?

Phoenix: One more time, Polly!

Polly: Don’t forget DL-6!

Phoenix: Hey, mister…

Old Man: (loud snore)

Phoenix: damn he’s asleep again.

Maya: Why would that bird, Polly, know about DL-6?

Phoenix: We have to figure out who that old man is.

Maya: Oh…

Phoenix; Let’s head back to the precinct, Maya; I think we need to talk to Detective Gumshoe.

[Exeunt]

[SCENE TEN]

[Open the Criminal Affairs Dept. Gumshoe’s sitting at his desk looking bored. As Phoenix and Maya enters he waves them over.]

Gumshoe; hey, pal, long time no see!...you two don’t look so happy, what happened this time?

Phoenix; Actually we wanted to ask you about something…
Gumshoe: Yeah?

Phoenix: you know the boat rental shop down on Gourd Lake?

Gumshoe: Oh, yeah…

Phoenix: The old man who runs it is appearing as a witness in court tomorrow, right?

Gumshoe: Huh?! How’d you—That was supposed to be top secret!

Maya: Do you know who that old man is, detective?

Gumshoe: Actually, I don’t pal. He’s an odd bird…I haven’t been able to get a straight answer out of him. I decided at first that he wasn’t persuasive enough to stand and testify as a witness. That’s why we called Ms. Lotta Hart yesterday. As for who he is…I have absolutely no idea.

Maya; Hmm…sounds suspicious!

Gumshoe: Hmm…. you could say so pal.

Phoenix: Detective gumshoe would you mind helping us?

Gumshoe: Huh?

Phoenix: We need to know about the DL-6 incident! That’s when Edgeworth’s father died. I can’t help but think that it has something to do with this current case.

Gumshoe: To tell the truth, I don’t know much about DL-6 either. Mr. Edgeworth forbade us from reading the file. So…I’m afraid I can’t show them to you either.

Maya: What?!

Gumshoe: However, if you can convince me somehow that the DL-6 Incident is related to this case…Well, I guess I’d consider opening the file up.

Phoenix: The old man at the rental shop; his parrot know about the DL-6 incident.

Gumshoe: What?

Phoenix; I’m pretty sure the old man must have taught it to her.

Gumshoe: yeah, but how would that old geezer know about the DL-6 incident?

Phoenix: Wait! What if…what id that old man was connected to DL-6?

Gumshoe: I get ya, pal. Sounds like you need information on the DL-6 incident. (He points off stage a bit.) Through there is the station’s Records Room. I’ll give you special permission to go in and find what you need.

Maya: All right! Way to go Detective Gumshoe! To the Records Room!

[Exeunt]

Well, I finished it up on Xmas eve, I'm just posting it in chunklets as it was 20 pages on word. This chunk is the last of it though. then on to Court Day 2!

Spoiler: Scenes Eleven
[SCENE ELEVEN]

[Open to the Records Room. It appears as though nobody has been in there for a great length of time, as dust seems to coat every surface. Maya throws open the door sending dust flying everywhere. Phoenix begins coughing and wheezing once he walks in.]

Maya: (not visibly bothered by the dust cloud) It’s amazing…ly dusty.

Phoenix: (coughs a bit more)

Maya: Oh, come on, Nick, it’s not that bad…

Phoenix: (somewhat recovered, though coughing intermittently.) Easy for you to say…this must be ten years worth of dust at least.

Maya: whatever, let’s find that DL-6 stuff!

[Maya runs off-screen. Phoenix turns to the crowd, his earlier coughing fit gone.]

Phoenix: Fifteen years ago...both me and Edgeworth were nine years old. We were almost through with the fourth grade when he suddenly transferred. Was it because of DL-6…?

Maya: (off-screen) Nick! I found out where the file is!

Phoenix: O-oh, thanks, Maya!

Maya: just let me know what you want to look at and I’ll bring it out.

Phoenix: Well, it’d probably be best to get a handle on the basics. Could you bring out the summary?

Maya: Sure thing. (Rustling is heard before Maya comes back on stage with a page.)

Phoenix: (takes the paper) Thanks Maya. Let’s see December 28, 2001…

Maya: That’s exactly 15 years ago from the day after tomorrow.

Phoenix: (still reading) The incident took place in the elevator of the district court. There was a large earthquake at 2:00 P.M. on that day. Part of the court building collapsed, and all of the lights went out. At the time three people were trapped in the elevator. It took five hours for them to be rescued. There was a lack of oxygen in the elevator, and the survivors were unconscious.

Maya: The survivors?

Phoenix: One of the three had been shot in the heart…Gregory Edgeworth.

Maya: Mr. Edgeworth’s father right?

Phoenix: Yeah…hey, Maya, do you think you could find the file on the victim?

Maya: Yeah! (She runs off briefly and more rustling is heard. She comes back on with another piece of paper) Here you are, Nick!

Phoenix: Thanks. Gregory Edgeworth, 35, defense attorney. If he were still alive he’d be 50…He lost that day’s case in court, and got in the elevator with his son, Miles.

Maya; Miles?

Phoenix: Miles Edgeworth, of course.

Maya: So he was on the elevator with his father!

Phoenix: Seems so. From the angle of the bullet and other evidence, it could not have been a suicide. The murder weapon, a pistol, was found in the elevator. The pistol was fired two times. That sounds familiar…Ah, well. Maya, could you get the suspect data for me?

Maya: Yeah. (Runs off stage and the rustling sound is heard again.) That would be the guy my mom got arrested right? Here it is! (Runs back on stage and hands another paper to Phoenix.)

Phoenix: The man arrested as a suspect in the DL-6 was…Yanni Yogi? He was a clerk in the court apparently.

Maya: So he must have been the third person in the elevator. Well, then he must have done it!

Phoenix: He was found innocent though, thanks to his defense lawyer, Robert Hammond.

Maya: He’s the victim in our case!

Phoenix: Right. The suspect, Mr. Yogi was oxygen deprived…so much he had brain damage. He lost all memory of being in the elevator. After he was declared innocent he disappeared.

Maya: Hmm…where could yogi have gone to, I wonder?

Phoenix: He may be closer than we think.

Maya: What do you mean by that, Nick?

Phoenix: I guess we generally know what happened in DL-6 now. I still don’t know what sort of impact the whole thing had on Edgeworth…

Maya: Nick, are we going to take the whole file? It takes up an entire file cabinet drawer. I don’t think we’re going to want to haul the whole thing out of here…

Phoenix: (pats the three pages he has tucked under his arm) I think this’ll be all we need. We can always come back if we need more. I think that’s all we’ll probably find today; all that’s left is the trial tomorrow. That should be interesting….

[Fade to black.]

LySs- I thought your character voices for April May and Maya were both brilliant!! I could picture those characters having those exact voices!! Very well done, indeed!

I also love your beautiful alto voice! That might be perfect for a sultry kind of sound that April May might have in a song...

I did notice that you changed keys a few times while you were singing, but that may be because you were singing a cappella. Do you have a karaoke CD of anything you could sing with? Most people don't have much of a problem with changing key if they have some accompaniment.

Anyway, kudos on the voices! I loved them. :edgy:

Aerix: Your voice sounds very professional! Beautiful singing! My only qualm is that I actually imagine Edgeworth with even less of a British accent... :yuusaku: If anything, I would want it to be somewhere in between your regular voice and your slightly British voice. Of course... none of this probably matters anyway, since it's just one person's opinion...

And again, the only example of "ever-so-slightly British" I can think of comes from an anime... I imagine Edgeworth to sound somewhat like L's American voice from "Death Note". He doesn't sound like he has a British accent, but more like he could have grown up with British parents and the accent sneaks out every once in a while..

If I can find a clip, I'll post one.

Yay! If another person agrees with me then I'm not completely insane... ... right?! :lana: Well, at least one person agrees. I don't think Edgeworth's accent would be very strong, because he would have grown up in the same city as Phoenix and Larry for at least the first few years of school. Of course, if you have British parents, you can't help but sneak out some English-sounding words every once in a while. My mother does this, too. She says "Thee-ay-ter" instead of theatre. Although, now I'm convinced she does it just because we tease her for it!! :yuusaku:

Way to go to me for not introducing myself in the main forum, but this sounds like fun, and at the very least, I think I'll watch this thread. I'd love to try out, but I don't know anything about music- so even if I was good enough, it'd all have to be by ear (which I can do, but I don't know if you guys want to have to deal with that).
Anyway, when my sore throat subsides, I think I'll do an audition for you. XD;

This is made of awesome. :godot: I'll totally try out once I get a microphone. LySs, you have an amazing singing voice! And Aerix, I love your "slightly British" voice. =)

Been awhile since I posted, so here's my thoughts on the latest auditions ...

I agree with ff3girl on the Edgeworth audition. Something between the slightly British and regular voice would be perfect ^_^ Also, I think the emotion level isn't quite what it should be. Perhaps you were trying to give the impression that Edgeworth didn't want to share his memories and was uncomfortable ... and I applaud that, I just don't think it came off as that in the actual reading. It seemed just a little stiff, the inflection in each sentence seemed plain and somewhat unnatural. But all in all, I agree that you would make a great Edgeworth with practice :edgy:

Lyss' auditions were also very nice :D Great April May, great singing voice, and great Maya. Once again, ff3girl touched upon my concern, in fact, my only concern with this audition. I don't know either of these songs, but it seemed like there were key changes where there shouldn't have been. But like she said, I bet with the accompaniment it would have been fine. The quality was definitely there :gant:

And, finally, Jenna's still cranking out some awesome scripts :D This is the main thing I'm watching this thread for now- scripts and ideas for songs. Because as Ethed said, that should be the biggest focus right now. It's really awesome that we're getting so much performing talent here, but that'll all be for naught without the actual planning and writing of the musical. Good thing that seems to be moving at a fairly decent pace as well :)

I just had an idea!

Maybe onstage or offstage, there could be a sort of monitor that projected pictures of evidence! So that way the audience could see what the characters were holding and it'd be like the game ^^

Aerix did that reading totally cold, so I know he can do a lot better in the emotions department. He's been lurking in the forums (and never posts damnit) so he's been reading and taking in all the advice and criticism. I'll try and pull him in for another read, maybe one from Jenna's script.

Well, since this is an online musical, I would still imagine that when we get to that point, it would be a flash animation. Of course... ... we still have to find actual ANIMATORS. :beef: But I digress...

I like that idea-I also think that it would be a good idea to put up a picture of the piece of evidence being discussed.

I thought you would kind of make it look like the game, but just put speaking, music and other songs to it...

I dunno!

And Ethed has my deepest sympathies.

This is actually an epicly amazing idea, and I'd love to somehow get on board for it.

I don't quite know how you'd like me to audition, but I would love to somehow get in on the voice acting/singing end of things.

My only concern is that I'm probably relatively young (16) so, I may not have a mature enough sounding voice (though perhaps I'm wrong).

In any case, this is what I can offer:

My voice part is powerful/belt tenor. I have a confident and sustained upper range. I can sing baritone well and confidently, but my best work is in the mid to high tenor range.

As for the voice acting, I'm totally interested, just tell me what exactly you'd need from me as far as casting/auditioning would go.

I assure you I have both acting and singing experience with shows in local venues and within my school (a performing arts school which I attend as a theater major). I just would love to be a part of this experience if you think there's a spot for me.

I also apologize for coming out of nowhere and so late in the process, so I understand rejection on that respect, I just sort of stumbled upon this project tonight and it really struck me.

Damn! A professional! What does your voice sound like?

Hey everybody! I've had an idea for Sal: He could talk like some guy...erm, the only one I can think of is Napoleon Dynamite, sorry...Anyway, we should display his 1337 through subtitles. Green subtitles. In Westminster.

...It sounded better in my head.

A theater major??? :udgy: From what I understand, none of the casting has been finalized, only about five parts have been tentatively assigned. PLEASE audition!! The way I see it is we definitely want the best actors/singers possible, even if that means some of the current people here might end up getting cut out. :sadshoe: What we've been doing for our auditions so far is just picking some lines from the script of the first game to read in a few different character voices that we'd be interested in, then posting a sound clip of singing one or two songs that are in your comfort range. You could find the script for the first game online by googling it, or Jenna_Darknight has been posting some of the script that she's adapted that you could read from. Just go back a page or two in this thread to find where she's posted it. You could also go back just to look at what some of the other people have put up for auditions in recent posts.

I look forward to hearing it!! :will: It doesn't have to be professional, just record something with a microphone on your computer and upload it to a site like putfile.com that you could link to.

Alright, awesome! I'll get that up ASAP!

I'm just currently at my grandmother's house sans mic and sans music (not to mention a recent wisdom teeth extraction...)

I can get samples up as early as the 31st, unless I can find a mic somewhere around here, in which case... I'm sure I can find something to sing...

Everybody--with all the competition we're getting with all the good actors/singers, I thought I'd post another couple of character voices for myself. This is myself trying as Dee Vazquez and also Penny (WP's assistant). Please tell me what you think?
