I think I'm becoming quite attracted to you, Miss Fey.

Intellectually, of course. :lana:

I'm not sure if I follow on your last point about Dahlia only sparing her sister for her own sake, though, could you elaborate?

Oh, and to Wrestle, there weren't any specific times given for when the earthquake took place and so on.

Dahlia does everything in her own interest. She goes after Maya because destroying the one person Mia loves more than anyone would hurt Mia a great deal. It works the same for Iris and Dahlia. For Dahlia, losing Iris means losing the one person who truly loves her unconditionally and truly being completely alone. I can't even imagine such a experience. How did Dahlia even turn out like she did? For the longest time, she had no one who loved her. She gets taken from her mother at a young age (we have no evidence that Morgan fought for her) and a father who couldn't care less. Valerie helps Dahlia with her plan, but she was getting something out of it, namely a part of the money from that diamond. Terry loved her but by that point she seems completely warped (and since we don't know much about their "relationship," we can't be sure that it was unconditional love. It could also be that by the time they met she was too warped to recognize it. Dahlia knew her sister from before and would have been aware of her feelings before all of this). She uses Iris, but the thought of losing the one person who still loved her unconditionally and being so very alone was obviously to much for Dahlia. Even in death, she can't seem to harm the one person who loved her so because doing so would hurt her mentally as hurting Maya would hurt Mia. I hope that explains my point better. :edgy:

Definately. I actually had a very similar view on the sisters' relationship minus the last part, but you sold me and described it far better than I ever could.

(Regarding the question about killing Iris earlier, I was playing devil's advocate to see what other people thought, sorry. :payne: )

The only problem is, this stance pretty much contradicts this entire thread.

Devil's advocate is fun. :phoenix: I'm not sure it contradicts it. Was Dahlia angry at Iris? Very. So much so that she was willing to frame Iris for murder, but in the end she couldn't go through with it. Think how easy it would have been for Dahlia to pin the crime on Iris while on the stand, but she doesn't. She tries to swing the blame for the murder away from her sister. It can't be simply to hurt Maya because she clearly believed Maya was dead. She couldn't have done much more to Maya (to get to Mia of course). So why not finish pinning the blame on Iris? She just couldn't bring herself to allow for her sister's death in the end, so she tries to save it by swinging the blame away from her sister and claiming a less serious crime.

I don't care when it took place... I care about when they found Edgeworth.

There weren't any times given for any point during that entire sequence.

There was, however, a short fade-to-black that usually means characters are explaining things to each other that the player already knows. So that could very easily give the Hawthornes the extra time needed to pull their switch.

I still doubt that Dahlia had that much time. Even if she had more time to pull the switch, Dahlia had no way of knowing how much time she did in fact have so its likely she would have chosen the quickest option which is knocking her sister out and tying her up before putting the locks on (which when you think about it is still a lot of stuff to do). I can't imagine that Dahlia had enough time to do more and even if she did, she at least wouldn't have realized that she had time for more (she didn't know the bridge had ever been out so she must have realized that if Iris had come to check on Maya that others would come as well).

Oh, I thought that was where we were going with that anyway.

About the bell timing thing touched on earlier, Phoenix says he saw Iris moments before she rang the bell while he was breaking Dahlia's Psyche-locks.

Also, he says "It is almost 10:00" or something like that, the first time she says she has to go. She actually says it twice in the scene.
