The choppy was probably Putfile's buffering. If you stop it and just let the whole thing buffer for a minute, it usually works. And it plays fine from Putfile for me. :P

Thanks, Jenna. I appreciate the support. :will: But how about the speaking?

To be honest, I think any of us would make a good Mia, I'm just....kinda partial to the role because of "Justice for All". I like that song a lot. XD

Well, you know, we don't HAVE to have the same person sing for the character as speak for them. I think I speak a good Maya, but my singing matches Mia better... I dunno. Just something to think about, I guess. :P

Speaking wise, I can't really judge until we have our Maya (between you and ff3girl though I'd say you'd be a better Maya, mainly because of the tonal differences). I f we do decide to have different speaking and singing actresses than we should judge the speaking voice based on who's cast first.

The Phantom Otaku, to be Honest, I think the First Take of the Samurai Always wins was a Bit Better, with these new Clips it makes its MUCH more obviously its a Female Voice actor, whilst when you sang in the first take you managed to pass as a 10 year old boy.

Although you Were Great at Acting and Singing, the Masque of "10 year old boy" Didn't Work in the second Take and the Speaking Lines.

OK, almost time for me to go to bed, but I had to post this idea. I'm not sure if it will work, but I wanted to give it a shot. Triforcebun had mentioned earlier that he thought we needed an Edgeworth song. Well, I kind of cheated.. XD I wrote a reprise verse for "Make it Right" that Edgeworth could sing at the end of case 3.

This is where I really need an opinion from everybody about whether or not this would actually work, because I am very uncertain that this would suit his character. Anyway, here it is:

http://media.putfile.com/Make-it-Right- ... th-Reprise
Lyrics:
Spoiler:
Edgeworth’s Reprise: Make It Right

What can I say? All the facts point to the truth.
My guilty record—it had been destroyed by you.
The role I had been born to play: to keep evil at bay
Well now I seem to feel some doubt, I even almost feel afraid
This court is meant to stop the ones
Who would bring harm to the light
It’s natural, no miracle
For this court to make it right.

(Spoken) You listen to me, Wright. These lingering doubts you’ve burdened me with serve no useful purpose. Don’t ever show your face to me again. That’s what I came here to say.

Chords:
EBA
AEB
AEB
AEB
AEAE
ABAE

Edit: I actually think PhantomOtaku's second recording is better... ! Oh, well. Difference of opinion.

I disagree with everything you just said there. Not to be short or rude, but I just flat-out disagree. I thought the second take was better, and I thought she made a great 10-year-old boy.

As for all the recent posts on TriforceBun's latest song, this is one of the reasons we need our own forums ... we need a "TriforceBun Fangirl" subforum :P

EDIT: I like ff3girl's reprise verse a lot. It could almost be made into a full reprise SONG, but it's also very nice the way it is :)

Yay, FF3girl! :D I like that a lot! But I giggled at the way you put in the chords in the spoiler tag. N00b. <3

I do think that fits Edgy nicely, and you brought back the "Make It Right" theme well by slowing it down like that. The speaking at the end was nice too. I hart my sister-in-law! :DDD

Wow, I go to sleep for one night and this thing explodes (again).

I'm in the process of writing 2 songs:

-Justice is Blind (=ouverture), a bit based on the overture of Les Miserables, it will basically be a lot of court proceedings, a crowd, the judge (we need to hear him sing!), lawyers, prosecutors, guilty, not guilty, defendants, ....etc

-a song for...Von Karma, no title yet, but it will heavilly incorporate:

Spoiler:
-His sense of perfection
-He'll do anything to win (I thought this would be the last line always, sung very low, except at the end)
-Justice is blind (see overture), so you'll have to "guide" it

It will be quite creepy and evil, btw, with some (not One Winged Angel quantity or presence) Latin in there - come on, it's von karma)

and I would reprise this last song for one chorus when
Spoiler:
He tazers Phoenix and Maya ("I'll do anything to win" really sounds appropriate there)

After all this, I might also do a Red White song.
Spoiler:
Jazz.

When he confronts Phoenix in his office and gets him arrested

No problem--here it is:

http://media.putfile.com/Make-it-Right- ... rise-Piano

But you know, I just left it in the same key that Pennfalath sang it in for this original voice recording of Make It Right. I can't take any credit for writing it high. :will: I wonder if you could maybe maybe try the Edgeworth part on Samurai Always Wins an octave higher? I'm not sure how high that would be... or maybe you could even just sing that one very low note an octave higher.

Pennfalath: I would love to hear a song for Von Karma that would sound very "Sephiroth-y". Do you have anything in mind yet? Sounds scary... to write or to listen to!

Yay, ff3girl! I'm so glad Actorman's already getting a voice clip done of Edgeys Make It Right. I really do like the lyrics with the music. They seem to work so well together.
I'm sorry I underestimated the lyrics by themselves. Music can add so much to a situation .... Musicals are awesome!!! :jazzron: ... :shy:

I think people agreed that something like One Winged Angel would be a little too over the top for von Karma. It's not like he's out to destroy the whole world .... Just the Justice System ^_^ ... But I'm also having trouble thinking of something that would be good ...>_<

Yay, an Edgeworth song! :jazzedgy: It was great! I just have one suggestion- maybe instead of "I even almost feel afraid", it could be "I even feel almost afraid". I don't know, it just sounds more natural to me.

ThePhantomOtaku, I think your 2nd take of "The Samurai Always Wins" was even better than the first one. And the first one was really good. =) Great job!

And I tried singing Maya's part in "Make it Right". It turned out ok, I guess, but it's at the very top of my range, so I sang a few notes lower than they were supposed to be. Sorry. :payne:

Here it is.

"Anything To Win"
Whoever plays Von Karma, prepare to sing low.
I wrote it as an opposite for Justice For All

Spoiler:
Anything To Win

I am in charge of every trial
I’m always in full control
the judge merely has to smile
to say “Guilty” is his only role
I sustain my own objections and overrule yours
You cannot interfere with my Perfect Win Scores

Dame Justice is Blind, so I will guide her (Iustitia caeca , illa ducenda)
In declaring everyone guilty, I simply cannot err (Peccare non potest, nunc damnandum est)
To preserve my perfect record, I’ll do what I must (Praecipua fama mea conservanda)
No place in court for truth, peace, order and trust. (Non pax, quies, veritas, fides)
And yes, some didn’t do it, innocent they might have been (Quamquam damnabitur reum insontem,)
But my cases are all perfect and I’ll do anything to win (Curabo ut semper triumphem)

I’m perfectly prepared
To grind you in the dust
No one have I ever spared
Try to save your client if you must
but I’ll refute your claims, my plans you cannot thwart
Try to cross me, I’ll have you held in contempt of court

Dame Justice is Blind, so I will guide her (Iustitia caeca , illa ducenda)
to declare everyone guilty, I simply cannot err (Peccare non potest, nunc damnandum est)

All the cases I took on,
none were left unsolved
all defendants now are gone
I made sure that no one was absolved
So accept the fact you’ll lose, there’s nothing you can do
Your client is doomed, he will not pull through

Dame Justice is Blind, so I will guide her (Iustitia caeca , illa ducenda)
to declare everyone guilty, I simply cannot err (Peccare non potest, nunc damnandum est)
To preserve my perfect record, I’ll do what I must (Praecipua fama mea conservanda)
No place in court for truth, peace, order and trust. (Non pax, quies, veritas, fides)
And yes, Miles Edgeworth may be innocent, he might not have committed this sin (Quamquam damnabitur Milesem insontem,)
But my case against him is perfect and I’ll do anything to win (Curabo ut semper triumphem)

(the latin translates as "Justice is blind, she has to be guided. She may not make mistakes, now people must get convicted. My excellent reputation must be preserved. No peace, order, truth, trust. Although the innocent accused/Miles will get convicted, I will make sure that I always win)

For the people who know Latin:
-check for errors, please
-I know its incredibly easy Latin, but you try making a translation of the English text and rhyming at the same time.
-A new word! Miles, Milesi, male: Miles (=Name)

Melody will be here in a couple of hours.

Well, I wrote "Perfection Incarnate" after all. :karma: I have no musical talent (and no instruments :gymshoe:) so there isn't a melody. But I also included some of the script and stage directions. :phoenix: So I'm pretty satisfied.

Oddly enough, I typoed the word 'Perfection' the first time I typed it. The rhymes were hard. *pants*

Here it is! ^_^

Spoiler: Perfection Incarnate
(SCENE: Phoenix and Maya are in the Evidence Room.)

MAYA:
Huh? One of the drawers here is open.

PHOENIX:
Someone must have been looking in it recently.

MAYA:
The label says, "Unsolved Cases: Evidence"

(Maya takes out a file and opens it.)

PHOENIX:
Hmm…unsolved cases?

(Maya shrieks, drawing Phoenix’s attention.)

PHOENIX:
W-what is it?

MAYA:
Nick! The file for DL-6... it's completely empty!

PHOENIX: (takes file from her and opens it)
WHAT!?

(Manfred von Karma walks in at that moment.)

VON KARMA:
What are you doing here!?

MAYA:
V-v-von Karma!?

VON KARMA:
…How do you know my name?

MAYA:
How do we—We’re Mr. Edgeworth’s defense team! We saw you in court yesterday!

VON KARMA:
Defense team…Ah. I beg your pardon. You see, I rarely remember defense attorneys…

(sung)
I’ve never lost a case in my forty years
I reduce such pitiful lawyers to tears
In prosecution I have no peers
For I am perfection incarnate!

(spoken)
I’ll do anything to win. That is why I’m perfect. Even you cannot deny that.

PHOENIX: (spoken)
That’s not true! (receives an icy glare) Um…I mean…

(sung)
I’ve heard you hate Gregory Edgeworth
with all your soul. Is that true?

VON KARMA: (sung)
Despise a mere defense attorney?
Give me a reason, you fool!

PHOENIX: (sung)
He dealt a blow to your record and ruined
your sense of perfection.

MAYA: (sung)
And that wasn’t something you could hide behind
another of your objections!

VON KARMA (as if he’s stopping this entire conversation with a shrug):
…Hmph.

PHOENIX (spoken):
But… why would you take in his son afterwards? He’s the son of your greatest rival!

VON KARMA (spoken, icily cold):
…That is none of your business. And as far as tomorrow’s trial is concerned…

(sung)
You’ve lasted quite long
But my case is strong
As you will soon see, my ‘friend’

He’ll admit his own guilt!
Your objections will wilt
And I will win in the end!

PHOENIX: (sung)
We’ve lasted this long
And our case has grown strong!
A conviction? We won’t allow it!

VON KARMA: (sung)
He’ll pay for his sins!
There’s no way you can win!
For I am perfection incarnate!

(spoken)
Honestly…if you’ve researched this as much as I assume you have, you know what Edgeworth will bring up in court tomorrow.

PHOENIX: (spoken)
The DL-6 Incident…

VON KARMA: (chuckles)
Excellent. You have done your homework. Then you must also know what the verdict will be…

PHOENIX: (spoken)
No! We won’t accept anything but complete acquittal!

VON KARMA: (spoken)
My, you’re confident. You must honestly think you can win. So tell me…why? What do you have that every other defense attorney has lacked?

PHOENIX: (spoken)
It’s not us. It’s you, von Karma.

(sung)
Surely you overlooked something
A clue that if suddenly found
Will bring your case to the ground…
For no matter what you say
No matter what you’ve tried today
You are NOT perfection incarnate!

VON KARMA: (spoken)
…I leave nothing to chance. Miles Edgeworth will be found guilty tomorrow.
(a pause, he’s thinking)
Unless…

PHOENIX: (spoken)
Unless what?

VON KARMA: (spoken)
…Alright. If you have proof that he’s innocent, show me. Prove to me that Miles Edgeworth did not commit murder.

(Phoenix takes out the letter)

PHOENIX: (sung)
Mr. von Karma, look at this
I’m sure we can all see something amiss
Such clear instructions, down to the letter
In fact, if I didn’t know better…

(spoken)
You wrote this letter. You told Yanni Yogi to kill Robert Hammond and then frame Edgeworth.

VON KARMA: (spoken)
… He's a fool. I told him to burn the wretched thing after he read it.

MAYA: (spoken)
So you admit it! Y-you wrote Mr. Yogi this letter!

VON KARMA: (spoken, with a self-satisfied smirk)
Yes. And he wasn’t the only fool…

(sung)
I told you already I leave nothing to chance
You are truly quite naïve
With such crucial evidence
Did you think I’d let you leave?

(He takes out a taser. Big “Oh my GOSH, NO!” moment.)

MAYA: (spoken)
Nick…W-what is that thing?

PHOENIX: (spoken)
It’s a taser…a stun gun. It’s for self defense…usually.

VON KARMA: (spoken)
Precisely. 600,000 volts of electricity will course through your body in an instant.

PHOENIX: (spoken, or screamed)
Six hundred thous…

VON KARMA: (spoken)
Oh, don’t worry. People don’t die from it…(smirks) usually.

And as far as self-defense is concerned…I am merely defending my perfect record.

(sung, as he advances towards them)
Miles Edgeworth will pay for his sins
This is the case you simply can’t win
My perfect revenge has yet to begin
For I am perfection incarnate!

MAYA: (spoken)
Nick, this is crazy! We can’t stay—

VON KARMA: (interrupting)
Give me that letter and GET OUT OF MY WAY!

(Maya leaps at him like she’s going to tackle him.)

VON KARMA:
Whoa! What are you--

MAYA:
N-Nick! Run!

(He jams the taser into her body like it’s a knife.)

MAYA:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!

(As she falls, her hand snags something out of von Karma’s shirt (coat?) pocket. She lands on top of the object, covering it from sight.)

PHOENIX:
M-Maya!

(As he runs to her body, von Karma steps forward and practically impales him with the taser. He might do it at the back of his neck…Though I don’t know what that would actually do to a person. Just make it dramatic.)

PHOENIX:
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!

Wow! So intense...! I had to laugh a little bit, just becuase it feels so surreal to hear someone singing lyrics that I wrote..! BTW- I like the change from 'facts' to 'signs'. "The facts point to the truth" is a little redundant, no? :edgy:

Comfortably Numb--I can tell this song is pretty high for you, but I liked the way you sounded on the last verse that Maya sings! You sounded cute and young. :will:

Lalalei- I really like the idea of repeating that 'ar' sound from VonKARma into perfection inCARnate. I kind of reminds me of how Edgar Allen Poe always uses the "ore" sound in "The Raven." I think we might have something with that idea!

Good news, everyone...except PhantomOtaku. Sorry pal, but you're going to want to kill me considering you just re-recorded Cody's part...

:takethat:

This is with vocals if you need a refresher:

http://www.last.fm/music/TriforceBun/_/ ... 8Vocals%29

This is just the new accompaniment:

http://www.last.fm/music/TriforceBun/_/ ... animent%29

Yeah, I spiffied up the recording for "The Samurai Always Wins." Additionally, I re-recorded all the parts so there's NO ambiguity on anyone's notes (mainly Phoenix's). To those familiar with the song, there've been one or two VERY MINOR lyric changes: Phoenix's "Tell the truth witness" near the end has been changed to "Witness! Testify!" like in the game when he loses his patience, and Cody's "have a dirt nap" during the trio is now the grammatically correct "take a dirt nap."

And I had fun assigning each character to an instrument (Cody: guitar, Phoenix: piano, Edgeworth: brass) and utilizing the pan for some fun arguing. Go nuts with the recording, guys--especially you Phoenixes out there.

Sorry that I couldn't transpose the song up a few keys like that one fellow wanted, though. The truth is, I learned to play it in that key, and relearning it in another key would take a huge amount of time...if you bump up the low G an octave, I won't mind. :p

Oh and if anyone feels like going up an octave in the trio at the end, try it out, why not?

Quick question lalalei- Do you have a melody in your head for how this should sound? If you do, you could always sing the melody into the microphone and a person who feels inspired by it might try to write an instrumental part for it. That's what Pennfalath and I did!

Triforcebun- I'm loading your song to listen to now!! Can't wait to hear the new version.

Edit- OMG! ThePhantomOtaku and I are both giggling and squealing while we listen! Too much happiness. I also like the lyric change to "Witness testify" much better than "Tell the truth witness."

Heee! Still giggling.

Edit-If we're picking our numbers for your fan club, I get to be 1 :bellboy:

No idea whatsoever. Sorry. :sadshoe: *feels somewhat useless*

I do like the "Self-defense? You got it! I'm defending my record!" part. :p

I have fans now?

Shink's probably wondering--I haven't forgotten about Gumshoe...! "A Guy You Can Trust" will get the re-recording treatment as well within the next few days.

Would anybody mind giving some feedback on the Edgeworth reprise of "Make it Right?" I know my roomies did already, but they don't really count. :-P

I still feel unsure about whether the tune/mood of the song really fits with Edgeworth and that scene at the end of case 3.

Oh, my brother is actually at work today, so he won't be on until later tonight. *sigh* I'm not looking forward to when I'll have to go back to work on Monday. :larry: I've really enjoyed all the time I've been spending on this.

Edit: Comfortably Numb- I see you commented on the Edgeworth song. Thanks for the feedback! Sorry I somehow missed that the first time...

This time, just Codys part is sung because we all know how crazy awesome it sounds already and it's just easier this way! I'm sorry if this take doesn't sound as good as my last one but .... Me=Lazy :payne:

And TriforceBun, this new version is so freakin' awesome ... :acro: Complete and utter sock rockin' Greatness!

Edgeworth's reprise is well-written and sounds true enough to his character...however, I think it'd be nice if he had his own song rather than a reprise for the big finish of act one. Edgeworth's one of the main characters of the game and the end of 1-3 is something of a pivotal point for him.

What I'd recommend is keeping what's there but then after he sings that verse, he's left alone and continues in a sort of soliloquy thing that escalades into TEH BIG FINISH!

ThePhantomOtaku, excellent recording as always!

And thanks for the nice comments, you wacky sisters.

TriforceBun, you are freaking AWESOME. I'm now in your fan club. =) The new accompaniment was great, and "Witness, testify" fits into the song better.

Actually, Shink told me he thought that Edgeworth should sing a whole song there, too. I think one reason I only wrote the one verse is because when I read the script, Edgeworth only says about 3-4 sentences to him, and makes it a very brief encounter before he storms off.

I also thought that I wanted to reprise another song sung by the "good guys" on the defendants' side because he's starting to have a major shift in his view point--more toward Phoenix's/Mia's view of fighting for justice, peace, etc.

I have to admit... another reason I only wrote one verse is because writing a whole ballad really intimidates me.. :shy:

Here's Anything To Win

http://media.putfile.com/pwanythingtowin

Remarks:
-Change whatever you want, please add introductory music and music between the chorus and the rest
-I don't sound nearly ruthless enough.
-I barely could sing the low notes, but I think you'll see which tone I intended it to be.
-At one time, you will hear my mouse wheel, sorry about that.
-The "Dame justice part" has to be sung much louder than the latin part, which starts when the first part goes "is". The latin is neat, but we need Von Karma to take the spotlight. The Latin has to be sung by a multitude of people.

I see so much potential for that song... :nick-sweat:

I'll try my best..!

The way I imagine that song to go is to hear a unison women's chorus chanting the Latin after him, so that they overlap his lines as little as possible. I think the women's voices would make a nice contrast with his voice.

I know you asked for an intro, but now I imagine it with him going into the song with no intro, but rather have some ominous strings that pulse on accented syllables for the first two lines, and the orchestra slowly fills it in until the chorus, when we have everything.

Anyway, like I said, I'll try my best. :butzthumbs:

So, to be used in conjuction with the Teamspeak server, I made an IRC channel.

:takethat:

connect: irc.opa-ages.com
Port: 6667
channel: #pwmusical

I thought this might be a little easier for just casual conversation as well, since there's no interrupting people on accident.
