Omg it's gonna take a looong time to get used to that name. Meekins
My opinion: that name sounds too oldish to be Chinami's name.

I myself requested Betty for numerous reasons, one was it starts with a "B". Sal

I know someone named Dahlia. She plays GS/AA. She hates Chinami.

... I have a feeling that she won't like T&T very much. :/

Many people predict that it will be "Dahlia Black".

Dahlia is the name of a flower. Ayame's name translated is Iris, a type of flower. I think they'll translated her name literally so the twins would both have flower names. I know a few things about twins, I am one after all.

Dahlia and Iris... Now that works ^_^ Twins being named after similar things reinforces the bond between them. If Ayami is renamed Iris of course.

Is there further significance to "Dahlia"? Etymologically or symbolically speaking.

I am *still* going to have to get used to called her that over Chinami. Chimani

Heh...well, I had to get used to calling Mei "Franziska." After playing through the American release, it became too hard to remember her Japanese name.

I've just been using "Chinami" for years now because I had only the Japanese version to go by.

Still curious about the symbolism of "Dahlia."

Dahlias apparently stand for instability. At least, that's what I've read.

...oh yeah. Hi. I've been lurking for a while and decided to register. *wave*

It's an interesting name, considering it invokes the spirit of one of the most infamous murders ever. So...yeah.

I think I still like Delilah better though as an english name.

EDIT: And I just realized something. It seems like the fan translation was a bit prescient, as more than likely Dahlia will be shortened to Dolly for her pet name. Cough

Not sure how reliable this is but I've heard that dahlias atract butterflies which works well with the character aesthetically. Dahlia petals also are similar in color to Chinami/Dahlia's outfit.

I rather like Dahlia. It works quite well for Chinami, in several different ways. Not to mention that it's certainly better than many other alternatives, like "Dolores Willow" and such. >_>;

I liked Dolores Willow D:

Anyway, it's a good name, it really works, but... I'm so used to calling her "Chinami" and all...

I liked Dolores Willow too. It worked well. It was a fitting name for her and it worked with using 'Dolly' as a pet name. Dahlia... what is Phoenix gounna call her? Dally?

Meh. I figure i'll still call her Chinami because I don't like Dahlia that much,

I like it, personally. Makes sence regardless if its based on teh flower or the murderer, or both!

Also, I'd asume the nick-name would be Dolly. Hey if Richard can be nicknamed to Dick, I think this could work too.

Dolly makes sense...

With the P on Phoenix's shirt, guess she can't call him Nicky? Eh, maybe she will anyway. Otherwise... what, Phoenie or something? o.o

I'm quite accustomed to Chinami and "Dolores," but Dahlia just sounds pretty enough to get used to.

I was leaning more towards Venus FlyTrap. Damn I was off.

Dahlia's an okay name and seems to keep the "Dolly" nickname, I suppose.

I was actually rooting towards Jezebel as her name. *shot* Gant
