After reading a few comments on various places of the internet, I have found that there is quite a bit of demand for AA type games. And there are quite a few good ones out already. Bravo to the many developers.
That said, the demand has reignited my spark and I have started working once again on Prince of Lawyers, the first ace attorney fangame (correct me if im wrong).
Quite frankly, I'm no longer sure what my credibility is on this forum is after the constant times I've revived and then killed the project, but I'm hoping this spark of motivation will last a long time (and it should considering I've graduated High School and have a lot more free time).
Here is a video showcasing the engine so far. As you can see, it isn't dead, and I've been working hard during what free time I have.
Now that I'm done rambling, here's the description of the project: In Prince of Lawyers, you play as fresh-out-of-school attorney Tyray Prince. He grew up seeing many misunderstood people fall victim to false convictions due to the harsh court system and lack of competent attorneys. He fights for the rights of those who are misunderstood, and aims to find the truth behind all seemingly open-and-shut cases.
Here is the plan for the game: I'm writing an engine for making Ace Attorney style cases (in other words, my own personal casemaker, fine tuned to how I want to design my games). That is what will consume most of the time, but by doing it this way, it will make it easier to write each case faster. The engine is open-source, so if you want to write a case using it, feel free. Just make sure you have a good knowledge of Java prior to diving in.
At the moment the following features of the engine are completed:
[X] Basic visual novel structure
[X] Court Record system
[X] Court Scenes
[X] Question with choices system
[X] Present Evidence System
[X] Cross Examination system
[ ] Investigation system
[ ] Psyche Lock system (or whatever other creative idea I may come up with to replace that)
I could use any kind of help I can get.
- Story writers - come up with a good storyline based on what I give and/or come up with hard to figure out contradictions (absolutely necessary)
- Composers - People who can make a nice and interesting soundtrack, or at least remix the original tracks so they don't sound so bleepy (not absolutely necessary, but would be nice, no Midi)
- Artists - Some high-resolution graphics would be a nice touch rather than pixelated sprites. Concept art would be cool, as well, or simply coloring in any lineart I've done. Again, not completely necessary.

I really want to make this into a reality.

Thanks alot. I did the sprites for Ty based off some phoenix sprites (cept the head, I did that my own self), and recording his voice was hard (I was trying to do a tough black dude voice). And I didn't have too much confidence in the story, but thank you very much for the high rating.
The full version is on its way, Im just waiting for my friend to finish the final sprites i need. Once she's done, it will be out real soon. God willing before March.
