Thats a pretty deep question, and it's true. This game left a lot with me.

When i first picked up the game, i felt like Mia did, and knew the same things. i freaked when ther cross-examination of Sahwit. I was like, "What's a cross-examination?!" But by the end of the third, I knew exactly what I was doing. I also notice contradictions and loopholes in everything. Its a burden, but it's also really fun to yell Objection when they show up. I also became a bit more conciencious of my actions (not always a good thing). Once, in art class, when we were getting lectured again, I was examining a carving knife. After I turned it around in my hand a few times, I hoped that there wouldn't be a murder here today, because my fingerprints weould be all over it if it was the murder weapon!

Long story short, it's changed my life a good amount. It's even got me taking a Business Law class next year!

Just because they’re listening, it doesn’t mean they’re believing.

They're listening. There's no way they aren't. A giant with loads of confidence and the ability to make anyone think the way he is? Yeah. He's having everyone listen to him.

MnHttnA.D.A wrote:
First off, whom is a jury going to side with? The rapist who talks down to everyone or the happy go lucky kid who has a snowboard in his office? As hard as you try, you can't hide who you really are in court.

A few problems with this: 1. He's not a rapist, and to be honest, it is starting to make me ill that so many people make that claim. They wouldn't bring up the topic of "rape" in a T-rated game.

2. They would probably believe him first, because as soon as you try to even speak about his "past", there will probably be a lot less respect in the courtroom for the one who is baselessly pointing out the faults of the opposition. Also, a "snowboard in their office" isn't the best way to get on the courts' good side.

3. Of course you can hide who you are! If he's a witness, sure, you can probably crack him, but as your OPPONENT? No way! Unless your witness breaks his shell to reveal his menacing side...

MnHttnA.D.A wrote:
Second, I would go all :garyuu: on his creepy ass. I learned from a very young age how to make anyone look bad. Gant would get arrogant and do something stupid like ask a question and assume I don't know about the answer, thus opening the door for me to thrash him.

While it isn't that bad of an idea, do you HONESTLY think he's stupid enough to fall for that? He'll probably make the court think the way he is, before you can counter. For Gant, you need to match his personality, then make him slip that way... while not attacking directly. Example: Try to act like you are making small talk with him (because he won't object to it, since that's his own method), and try to make him slip while keeping your cool... that's all I can think of, anyways...

MnHttnA.D.A wrote:
Third. Courts have a low threshold for arrogance. Gant would have half his questions struck down because he wouldn't word them right.

If Gant wants to be serious, he will be serious. He could win everyone in the courtroom with his opening statement, for example... Also, he could always correct himself, or try to appeal to the Judge, or even intimidate him loosely. If you openly threaten, than you'll be held in contempt... but intimidation tactics always work out, since it's not ILLEGAL to do that. Also, you can't really hold him on his pauses and death glares...

MnHttnA.D.A wrote:
Finally, as you all said, the jury would automatically side with whomever yells "Achtung, Baby!", bangs on his desk, plays with his hair and plays air-guitar. Wait, THAT’S ME!

Well, at least you still happen to have the third... but he can match the first one with his overly-jovial speech, and he has the second one down pat. Also, a booming laughter could be considered a way to mock the opposition easily... unless you can call him on it.

Well, that's all for now! :larry2:

And what am I? Chopped liver?

I was trained by the best Criminal Attorneys in Texas. Just because opposing counsel acts like Santa and is well worded doesn't mean I couldn't beat him.

The number one rule of Trial Law is this: "Never mind the rules just play to win."

All the things you mentioned were valid. But each is weakness if exploited right.

I didn't earn the title of "Nasty Prosecutor" for nothing.

Also, even subtly trying to intimidate a Judge is pisspoor idea. True Judges know that they can determine how a trial ends.

Somehow I read "I was trained to be the best Criminal Attorney in Texas".

I was gonna say "errr...... and what about the rest of the world...?"

I'm not saying ye SUCK though *reads their sig and nods, smiling*, but as the old saying goes...

"You play a pretty good fiddle, son, but give the devil his due"

And that's a pretty good rule to live by.

And also, with a title like "Nasty Prosecutor", you're gonna be soooooo sorry for that one day in court. XD!

Texas spawned the two greatest Defense Attorneys of All-Time.

Percy Foreman and Richard "Racehorse" Haynes. Prosecutor wise it spawned Douglas Mulder, who has yet to lose and Ernie Ernst, who never lost once in a 44 year career as a prosecutor.

This may sound lame, but I know make a jury cry with only a few words. I know how to kick my voice so it sounds like God himself is in the Courtroom. I know how to win.

By the last line, I personally believed you're really JBL, but anyways...

I also can make a large cafetorium of people cry with a few words... and also chase after me with pitchforks, but that's another story.

Gant, however, he will probably be able to win over the jury with his positive act, and friendly... act... but here's an ooooold saying we used to say in my family:

"It's not the winner who's most memorable. It's the one who is unique that is the most memorable".

Example: You're watching the Olympics, 500 metre dash. Who would you remember better? The winner, or the one who removed all his clothes during the race?

WELL???

So do I.

I leave with a quote.

"It is imperfect this way we do things. But is what we have. I have seen men who deserved to be hung act charming. I have seen this. It sickens me. But there is hope. These men do not succeed. For no matter how fancy your words may be. You cannot out talk justice.

During many trials I was made to feel alone. But I reaized this was untrue. I was not alone, for behind me there was Justice. And that is all a man needs."

Lol that's exactly what I did at the beginning of last year. Shite happened to me last Christmas and I took a job that would place me across the country from my friends and family for 8 months. In retrospect, maybe it was partially cuz of PW that made me do it. xD.. I do identify with Edgey a lot, so I could understand why he did what he did.. and maybe that's why I did what I did. xD... *is starting to not make sense*

But yea, I'm back home now and feeling tons better about it. ^^

I thought the point of Google is to look for these kinds of topics and act like a genius on them until someone who is an ACTUAL genius shows up.

Anyways though... I'll admit, I need to study law a LOT more if I want to take on A.D.A.... since the only other alternative is to go to Texas, get involved in a crime, and self-represent... but I don't think I want to put my life on the line juuuuust yet.
