I've said it before and I'll say it again, unless it comes from a reliable source, like the Dojo or Nintendo themselves, information without proof to back it up should not be trusted.
This is a good example, a rumor based solely on a release date change made by a retailer's website. Honestly, I'm faurly certain they're far too close to the release date to change it now. Last time they at least had a few months to go, so I doubt a couple weeks more isn't going to help them much. Unless there's been or will be official word of it, the U.S. date should still be Febuary 10th.
For some reason, people stopped talking about it after a couple of posts...
EDIT: Oh, it was because of Captain Olimar being in the game. Just go back to the post where Captain Olimar is confirmed and it would show up right behind it.
You could just quote the post, you know, or a link to it is even simpler. Better than trying to give hazy directions, at least.

i love it to death, but NP's losing it, except for that exclusive article they're running on the new sonic rpg. But i hate it when they say "new info on brawl" and it ends up being a minor recap of updates form more than a month ago. u'd think they'd write that article as late as they could before publishing it to get the most updates in their article

Honestly? Those 2 games I would give up anything I own, for them to have been released... and I'm sure many of the users who are fans of classic games would do the same.
Found some info surrounding it, but it's forum info (go figure, eh?)
One poster on the site:

Challenge mode???
Meet... The Challenges Screen!
..... yeah, I know, it's blank.
Anyways, What is this for? For each challenge you beat, you unlock a certain "reward". It lists possible ones as "Trophies, Stickers, Music".
When you fulfill a condition, you get the prize inside!
In the instance of MUSIC, you unlock it, and can listen to it immediately, on that screen!
Defeating challenges also allows the ones to it's sides' conditions to be shown.
And you are given something else: Golden hammers?
If you use them, you can break open any "challenge" and get the reward instantly!
However, Hammers don't come often. You start with some, and that's all you get.
And some challenges... even Hammers can't break open!
My own comments:
Alright. as a fan of the WWE games, I like the Challenge Mode. And them asking me to complete challenges for rewards here? Damn right I like this!

Brawl Jeopardy, huh? Sounds like fun to me. But, which character would be the reigning champion?
Really, though, after everything they've revealed, it's amazing to see them pull even more modes out of the blue. I wonder if Brawl could be in the running for "most things crammed into a single CD" or something.

I was going to say about the air ride thing, but you beat me. Considering that the same company that made the first two smsh games(HAL laboratory), made air ride, I'm not suprised that they reused a very successful unlock system

And back on topic, I'll be honest here, anyone could probably unlock challenges without even knowing the conditions, pretty easily. I mean, "Complete level 1 of Target Test with 10 characters"? I'll be going for completion with ALL characters!
But I digress... One of the best updates I've ever seen, and honestly? Since "Event Mode" was listed.

Defeat Bowser when he reverts into Giga-Bowser mode WITHOUT a smash attack, or the B-button.
Defeat Master Hand (He's in every game, he'll be in this one too!) without taking damage, in "Very Hard" mode.
You get my point, eh?
And it's nothing against ye PERSONALLY... but... we never settled the Physical vs. Mystical debate... and ye abandoned yer "User" roots with the "Mod" initiation.
Basically, debate aside, I have the same thing against ye as Tinker... but I don't dislike MODS, just the new guys.
