Title: Memories of Melody. (Okay... That's exactly what the subject says.)
Author: Myself
Rating: PG-13 MPAA or something I think... (I'll never be any good at the guess the rating thing)
Genre: A bit of a lot of things. Not much Action. Not very much Comedy either.
Status: Mostly Finished. I'm always editing, but the last couple Chapters aren't finished.
Pairing: Melody/Edgeworth (kind of...)
Summary: This is shortly after Miles'/Mia's first case and as a result has minor spoilers. Basically it introduces my RP character in her own words, literally as Miles Reads Her journal's after Melody has left him.

Well... Now that I've got the basics out of the way, Time to start on the Prologue! This starts right after a trial one day...

Memories of Melody

Prologue

Miles found himself playing the moment in his head again. The way Diego Armondo had so casually defaced the top female prosecutor and defense attorney as one, and the haunting words that Denim Daisy had to return...
"So? Ash N. Blood and I are the same. So what? Is that all you've got Diego Armondo? Is that it? Don't you know? Ashly Nichole Sangre isn't even her name! It's... Melody. Melody Fey."
Fey. Miles knew the name well. Frauds. All of them. Spirit Mediums. Why had Ashly kept it a secret? They were MARRIED for God's sake. She knew (How could she not?) How much he hated spirit mediums. This just pissed him off. It wasn't Daisy's Style to lie. Only the truth for her. That left the impossible, improbable: Ash had lied to him.
"How could she?" Miles was justly angry. Their marriage had been too perfect. He should have seen this coming.
When he got home, Melody/Ash/Daisy, whatever her name was, was busy packing bags into her Prius. The signature bottle of tea was in her back pocket. On a normal day, Miles would steal the tea and hold it out of her reach until she sang a song. Not today. She was the two worst people ever. 1) A Sprit Medium. 2) A liar. "Frauds, all of them." he muttered getting out of his own car and slamming the car door. Ash glanced up, and seeing Miles, returned to rearranging her bags. “Doing something Ms. FEY?”
“Just leaving, Mr. Edgeworth.” Miles had to strain just to hear the woman. “It would have been quite obvious that I was not wanted or loved here if I had not have started to leave.”
“At least she knows who she’s talking to,” thought Miles. Ash started to walk off towards the house. He followed her. “I have some papers for you.”
“Yes, Miles. I know.” She turned around. She was… smiling? “I know you, even if you don’t think you know me.”
“Know you? You’re life has been charades. I don’t think you understand you.” Miles pulled the papers out and set them on the table. Ash sat down.
“Are you sure this is what you want, Miles?” She asked, looking over the papers.
“Yes…” The Prosecutor said. He sighed and looked out the window.
His former wife gave a small laugh. “You marked the box for Child support.”
He turned to watch what she was doing. She signed her name: ASHLY NICHOLE EDGEWORTH. “That’s not your name.”
“Legally, that is only one of the names on my birth certificate. Well, not the Edgeworth. I married that person. I think he’ll miss me.”
“I think not.”
“Uh-huh… and our kid, he’ll miss the kid.”
“He doesn’t have a kid.”
“So? Doesn’t mean he won’t miss the family he never had.”
“Are you almost done?”
“Almost, Miles.” She signed her name again. “So why don’t you think he won’t miss me?”
“You lied.”
“Really? He never asked. No ask, no tell. Isn’t that one of your rules?”
“You should have told me earlier.”
“But I didn’t.”
“Yes, you didn’t. It took two people to bring the truth out. Your other persona, who might I add, hates my guts, and Your Mentee, who also hates my guts. I wouldn’t have believed either one of them if it wasn’t so damn obvious that Daisy was telling the truth.”
“Oh, You had to bring up Daisy? Daisy is so different from me! She liked to take my win record and wipe it in MY face. She doesn’t like you because she doesn’t like Von Karma.”
“What’s he got to do with this?”
“More than any of us know probably! The point is, Daisy greatly dislikes me too, but I don’t know why!”
“It’s because you lie. And you have the perfect win record and she doesn’t.”
“The Win record means nothing to Daisy! She doesn’t care. She’s lost four cases. FOUR. I think she understands something that neither one of us does; and that is what it means to be a lawyer. Or a prosecutor. Why do we do what we do? I recently realized that I haven’t the slightest clue. So I’m going to find out.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever heard you talk like that! But I guess whatever you have to say isn’t going to change the fact you lied to me! I don’t think I’ll ever love you again.” Melody/Ash looked shocked for a split second. “I won’t miss you, your obsession with tea, or Daisy.”
Melody shook as she signed her name again: MELODY ASHLY FEY-EDGEWORTH. “I love you Miles. Nothing you say will change that. I know that I do not know what I am doing when I am behind the Defense bench. And that is my problem. Your problem… is no longer my problem. I may not return, Miles. But that’s not a problem… right? You certainly ‘don’t love me’ after all.” She picked up the last of her stuff. “Good bye Miles Edgeworth, Prosecutor.” She smiled and left the house where she had lived for the last year.
-----------------
All right. Originally there was more, but I think I'll use it on the first chapter instead to try to shorten everything. This was really long...
Comments from the crowd?
Anything?
Creator of Melody Fey/Ash Sangre(Edgy's wife from years past, Defense Attorney) and Denim Daisy(Prosecutor). Mel/Ash is re-engaged to Miles Edgeworth (RP'd by CCCM)!
Thanks GP for Avy!
