Unless I'm mistaken, Cars Are big and Go fast. Well, how does Furio And his Scooter Survive mostly unharmed, Whereas Violetta was practically dead. I'm sure it's nothing, and been brought up before, but it boggles my Mind.

My impression is that while Tigre was just knocked over (probably clipped the corner of the fender and tossed out of harm's way), Viola panicked and smacked into something a lot heavier. Assuming she was wearing a seat belt, she probably spun out of control - this would mean her head impacted the interior of the driver-side frame, thus causing her cranial injuries.
There are some vehicles that have side-impact airbags to prevent such head injuries, but apparently this one didn't have them.

In this case, with the vehicle stopping, there are two possibilities:
-The windshield was broken or penetrated by shrapnel, either the glass or metal injured Viola directly.
-Viola wasn't wearing a seatbelt and got her head whipped against the steering wheel. WHAT A DUMBASS.

The point is that she was turning while she hit him, so she may have continued the turn and hit something else that would cause such a major injury.

As for Viola's injuries, they never tell us how she was injured, so perhaps she hit the airbag wrong or wasn't wearing a seat belt and in her already delicate physical condition, its possible that she could have been badly hurt. Other than that though, its never really explained. Facts are relative in the PW world.
