I have a problem with some avatars (Bleachlover and MnHttnA.D.A for example). Their avatars are streching on my FireFox 2 so that they are something like 200x200, while they are really much smaller. I have no idea why this is happening, but maybe someone has an answer? Has this happened to others too or am I the only one?

The same thing's happening to me, I use FireFox too, so I'm not sure if it does that in IE.
Also, there was someone's avatar that looked like it was sized down to about 50x50(Not sure if it was exactly that small, I didn't check), can't remember who it was though. :/

I'm not sure if this is the right topic but I guess it is. It's about Cindy Stone's profile. It says there that there isn't any misc facts and the personality is mostly unknown. However, we do know that she had several sugar daddies but she still cared about Larry. I think this is worth mentioning although Cindy is really a minor character.

Now, this might be old or just a stupid idea without a further meaning, but it's about Desirée's name. According to her character profile, Dessie's surename, "DeLite (from 'delight') may refer to her 'sweet' Japanese name". There is nothing said about her first name. However, if you look at the name, it's similar to the word 'desire'. That would make her name a pun for "a delight desire". That would really suit her as Ronnie really loves her.

Like I said, this might be old. It isn't mentioned on the profile page though.

I poked around the character's section for while, and noticed a few things

-In Mia's profile, Diego is still referred to by his Japanese name, but later by his English one

Spoiler: The name Vera
I found two meanings from sources and one is my personal interpretation.

According to Wikipedia, Vera is a Spanish name meaning 'truth' or 'light' this ties with the concept of translating Japanese names.

Another source (a name's website aimed at parents I found when I was looking for a name definition search) listed Vera as Russian name meaning 'Faith' this reflects her blind faith in Kristoph.

My personal interpretation is that it comes from the Spanish verb 'ver' meaning 'to see' and adding the -a makes it feminine. I thought this suits her because she replicates art with impressive attention to detail.

Vera's a pretty normal name, and is just derived from the latin vera, which means truth, like the Spanish. The other two seem a little far-fetched.

The avs that appeared stretched caused by specifying the dimensions of the pictures used for the av as 200px times 200px.

They should've found out about the original dimensions (read: width times the height of the image used av in pixels) and state it in the appropriate text boxes so that people can view the avs properly.

I love this feature, where I can just use a 50px times 100px av taken off-site as 100px times 200px (even 25px times 50px, if I want the av to look smaller).

This feature is a plus for CR, and you people can benefit from it when you check the proportionate sizing for your chosen avs. So, DON'T BLATANTLY SPECIFY THE DIMENSIONS AS 200x200 px~

And I won't need to resize my sprites just to make it appear as acceptable in CR (I used a 450 times 600 px av and specified it as 150 times 200 px so that it can be used as av here).

That's all for today. Thank you.....

Oh, I have something urgent to tell you.
Spoiler: AJ:AA
I was spoiled pretty badly about Shadi Smith's true identity. I was reading his profile AFTER finishing case 4-1. I hadn't played other AJ:AA cases yet. Well, in the "Background" section, it says Case 4-1 spoilers, but apparently those aren't 4-1 spoilers... Could you please fix this so other's won't be spoiled?

Although that's definitely a big mistake on the page, Nego, by the time you see him again, the connection should be screamingly obvious anyway, so don't worry about it too much.

Hehe.

In your attempt to Ctrl+H Maki with Machi you made one fatal flaw: The term "making" is turned into "Maching".

I was just reading the page and found it quite funny. Not a huge error; it's easy to understand anyway. :redd:

The Apollo Justice timeline is a year out of sync. Here's why:

The only time the year is explicitly revealed in Ace Attorney is during 1-4, when the DL-6 incident is revealed to have taken place in 2001, meaning that 1-4 takes place right at the end of 2016.

The events of JFA take place one year later, in 2017, except for 2-4 which takes place in early 2018.

The events of T&T take place in late 2018. A new year starts shortly before 3-3, Maggie Byrde's appeal, meaning that the rest of the game's events take place in 2019.

This means that Apollo Justice takes place in 2026. The timeline claims that the game takes place in 2025, which is impossible. :)

An interesting side-effect of this is that by the end of AJ, Pearl would be 17, not 16 as commonly thought. It may be that many of the other characters have similar age quirks as well.

OK, Croik, here ya go!

This is the corrected timeline with all the English names added in as well.
The only reason I've included a copy of the image files on the page is so you can verify that the page isn't bugged before uploading it. I'll delete my copy of the file as soon as the timeline is updated on CR. :D

Interesting note: Ema Skye's age is now either wrong in 1-5 or wrong in part of AA4. Fun! n_n

On another note:

Apparently the font used by Court Records is no longer installed by default on modern computers, although there's a font that looks almost identical to it instead.

Quote:
Book Antiqua is almost exactly the same font that[sic] Palatino Linotype, Palatino Linotype is included in Windows 2000/XP while Book Antiqua was bundled with Windows 98.

Are the Apollo Justice sprites going to be updated like the PW1-3 sprites were? Also, in some places around the site, notably Game Info, some Japanese names still need to be updated to their English counterparts (there's many more "Kirihito Garyuu"'s than "Kristoph Gavin"'s....hell, I found a "Kristoph Garyuu" >_>).

K, I'll peek around for name errors.

I explained in the timeline thread in the Prosecution Lobby why the timeline doesn't match up - no matter how you arrange it, there's going to be a contradiction in the ages or the dates. Though it may be an issue I open to the fandom at large to decide which should be the accepted version...

I'd recommend it because accepting it as 2025 opens up an enormous plothole making T&T take place in an alternate timeline or not at all. I explained this in the other thread. :)

I know, but making it in 2026 sets off all the ages and goes against the way that the timeline has been used in the last three games. Either way it's going to screw up something.

Actually, if my calculations are correct, the only character's age that gets contradicted is Phoenix. The rest are all completely plausible. However, in order for that to work, it disproves your "all the birthdays happen in the same four weeks" theory. :)

Spoiler: 1-5 and AJ:AA
The key is Ema Skye, in case you're wondering. For her to be 25 throughout AJ given her statement "I'm 16 this year" in 1-5, which takes place in February, has her age listed as 16 in 1-5 and given the fact that the AJ cases take place between April and October, Ema's birthday must be in January or very early Ferbruary. Funnily enough, that makes her 15 throughout 1-1 to 1-4. It also doesn't contradict her age during the SL-9 incident, where she's 14.

Does we even do these things anymore?
