I expect Olimar players to be very proficient brawlers, since they'll come to rely on his normal attacks a lot of the time - but then, shouldn't most players? Aerials and directional strong attacks were some of the most brutal in Melee, as they should be...

To end this random string of olimar hating/loving, I'd like to bring up the game photos and videos. How are these possible, it doesn't come out in Japan until the 31st?

We'll find out in 10 days if it's real or not, doesn't really matter at this point. Too close to release.

Plus, Olimar is going to rock something vicious. The Pikmin having there own attributes and such, I'm sure many will find a way to exploit that make Olimar a power house. Making his only achilles heel being the fact that he has to pull out his Pikmin and I doubt he does that slowly.

He pulled them out pretty fast in his games, and smash games are fast paced so I would think that, if anything, he would pull them faster!

olimar has a great balance. He has an amazing potential, while at the same time, a major flaw.

Playing as him will be very interesting. Figuring him out will be even more.

See, here's what I just figured out:

Also, some stickers can only be placed on certain characters.

Maybe... JUST MAYBE...... Olimar can gain the use of stickers, that increase his Pikmin count? It's be in The Subspace Emissary mode, sure, but... ye think?

Today's update is a double update (actually a triple, check the Iwata Asks update again and you can go to the second part of that.

The first one is a Mario stage, Mushroomy Kingdom.

It's world 1-1 of the original SMB, but recreated because they were bored or something.

It scrolls forward, so you go through the whole stage. Yay?

But the best part is that every once in a while, you don't start on this stage, but on 1-2. I hope you can get to the Warp Zone or it SUCKS.

Other than that, some music to go with this stage.

I say, this is probably the first stage I didn't like. If you're going to use 1-1, why make it look like some weird desert thing? Honestly - if they'd used a vibrant Mario whatever background and a vibrant Mario whatever stage, it would've been much more familiar and not so.. yellow.
The music's quite good though.

Now for Iciclish Mountain, where global warming has turned it into Rumble Falls, Planety Zebes, which has EXPLODED, so sorry, you DIE, and Great-esque Bay where you can find the skeleton of an old sea turtle on the salt plain.

Not sure I like that Mushroomy Kingdom got all Hiroshima. . .hope the background changes on this part of the game since the underground world does too. The music rocks! To hear someone screaming in pain as you taunt to this is going to be great.

I like this new look for the stage! And how would they be considered Lazy? They could always bring back a Nintendo DS-Quality stage! Also, I wonder if the popular "enemies" from this game will be in, such as Koopas, Goombas, and the occasional Pirhanna Plant...

And to Tinker: The idea of a space-esque level (Zebes) actually would sound good (since it's not like physics would create that result, otherwise Olimar would win before the match started EVERY... TIME!)

Wow! No one said anything about the update!

Today we got a video that shows what kind of slow down you get playing over WiFi.

Right click and open in new window.
The distance was from Kyoto to Tokyo (About the same as Los Angeles to Las Vegas.)
Not to bad, but I fear for what it'll be like when I play against my friends on the east coast.
