There's a casemaker 1, correct. But it's like old and fail, #2 will be so much better.
Also, yes you can put all custom stuff in.

It's not out yet. It'll probably be out after a while, because I've got other (more important) projects to look to than this. However, it's in development, so stay tuned. It'll hit you when you least expect it.

I don't quite remember, but I think 1.3 was the latest. Currently working on 2.0.

Nowhere. The download links timed out, and I won't bother uploading the old ones again.
Seriously, this beats the crap out of the old ones ;>

Well, I've got the basics down. Working on a few commands and stuff. The only thing keeping me from release is the evidence system - I've gotta make that first.

Hmm, looking good, though I think an interface with that level of complexity is unneccessary. It actually looks rather simple, but I don't think you should be using MMF2's MDI feature too much. (My case maker is also being made with MMF2 - the developer version.)

Edit: And for the love of God, will people stop asking for MP3 support!? MP3s SUCK! Maybe not as standalone music files, but in games they do.

Edit 2: Looking back, it seems you're not actually using MDI, right?

I'm using the developer version too, but I'm not even using the MDI feature at all dfg
But yeah, this one won't support MP3s either, but rather .oggs and the maker will have a mp3->ogg converter with it, so no worries.

EDIT: Looking at it, it seems you're using ogg too. The only reason we don't use Mp3 is because then we'd have to make a whole loads of crap with the DirectX that takes forever and doesn't loop properly.
So yeah, ogg > mp3

Would one of you two mind telling me why I can't get oggs to work with MMF2? Is it a developer only feature? :s

Agreed. ^^ But how are you going about including a converter? Sounds like a lot of extra work, unless it's a pre-made one that can operate using command lines, running in the background. Is it really that hard for people to get one from the web? Plenty of free ones exist.

Edit: To rtsmarty, it's a sample, not music. MOD-based formats and OGGs are under samples, and work with any MMF2 version.

...Ah well that explains it.

Wouldn't being forced to use samples stop people using midis though? I mean not that midi is any good or anything but... yeh. Nevermind that on second though.

There's really no need. I'm able to convert all of the PW MIDIs into high-quality orchestral OGG versions anyway! (With the permission of the MIDI writers.)

None professional uses MIDIs these day
They take an awful lot of time to load, they're poor quality and sounds different ranging from your sound card
Really, the only good thing about it is the file size, but nowadays people would be please to download a 10mb game with quality music rather than a 2mb MIDI game.

I've got a simple ad-free premade one that require no installation. I'll be fine.
And it converts them directly, no steaming if that's what you're thinking because that'd lag like hell.

Btw, I forgot to tell; That is the maker, not the launcher. The actual game won't have any MDI or subapplications or anything at all.

Have you read the program's agreement? Is it confirmed that you're allowed to distribute this with your case creator? Sometimes if you don't read the small print you can get yourself in trouble.

Nope it's free of use aslong as I don't publish it under my own name and give the author credit.
Beside I'll probably, sooner or later, follow the public opinion and add mp3 support

Ouch. Really. Well, whatever floats your boat. Gymshoe Aren't you going to add proper .IT support anyway? It's the only way to make the original PW music loop 100% properly (and sound the same).

I've already made many of the orchestral tracks looping OGGs, with the help of Gerkuman.

Have you never heard of MOD music? Surely that was a major selling point, when you purchased MMF2? Of course, there was ModFX for MMF1, but it was meh.

The thing that sucks about five or so of us making case makers, is that if somebody decides it's a 'race', and releases one of them first, and it's crap, then if lots of people start using it, everyone'll be using it even when the better ones come out.

That said, I think few'll actually make it to a complete version.

Oh. Now I remember. I'd better get cracking on splitting the other GS orchestra tracks :F And this case maker looks cool too.

I really do think after all the case makers come out, I'll get a team together to make a site to host peoples cases on and a player that could play cases from the main casemakers.

Question:

Say you wanted to make a case featuring original characters, would you be able to upload your own sprites to the program?
