Just wait until we bring the Electric Chair back. We'll show the world what "Cruel and Unusual" really means. *High fives the ghost of John Connally*

Plus if you're going to self represent, do it in Dallas or Austin. Those prosecutors aren't as blood thristy as the ones in Houston.

Ron White talking about the Texas law:

"Most states are trying to abolish the death penalty... My state's puttin' in an express lane!"

That's him talking about a law he mentioned where if more than 3 witnesses saw you commit your crime, you go straight to the front of the "Death Row" line.

Sometimes I wonder if having the electric chair back wouldn't actually be a good help.

If you know the worst that will happen to you when you get caught is you sort of fall asleep quietly, there's not much of a scare.

Knowing that your tongue will explode in your mouth and your eyes will turn to jelly before you die--and that's if you die right away!--that's got to be some kind of magnificent deterrent.

Of course, I don't know that I support the death penalty in general, so. I suppose as far as being a Texan goes, I'm behind on figuring out my moral code.

I wouldn't think so. Your head just kind of explodes. Lethal injection is SO much cleaner.

Our state actually doesn't have the death penalty at all...

See, I'd assume...
Spoiler: 1-4
Manfred von Karma would've wanted the lethal injection. I mean, he wouldn't want anything that would seem like it could be "entertaining" to the morons watching. He'd want something that just gets it over and done with.

QUOTED FOR TRUTH

Indeed, and quoted for added emphasis on cool even if the joke's worn out by now.

I learned that while Udgey's obliviousness was entertaining, a flawed judicial system is funny only in a videogame.
And it was a little nice that they were realistic, and handed out death penalties.
In reality, the verdicts need steep wages for the deeds done, otherwise people'll kill others and recieve nothing more than a slap on the wrist... as a result, they'll simply be released, and they'll repeat the process from step one again.
Even then with harsh penalties, some people aren't afraid to fry. That's what makes law so interesting.

In short, PW has made me want become a 'criminologist' so I can demonstrate how to do The TimeWarp while jumping on my desk. :gant:

Two things I've taken from this game.

1- Always ask for evidence. I usually (or at least used to) believe absolutely everything said to me, no matter how outrageous the claim. I am by definition Gullible. But, Now I tend to need a reasonable explanation, or proof or the outlandish ones.

2-(reinforced by this topic) Prosectors are filled with awesomes.

Oh yeah @ A:D:A Just wondering it say you deal with special cases,
I know that you in a position that you cannot give information like that away.
But I was just wondering could you be a little more specific in what type of case you handle?
Also have you had any really hard cases that were hard to win?
3rd Have you doubted that you might have gotten a person that you got convicted the wrong sentence (they might not be the guilty party). Thanks :edgy:
I was 17 when I joined this forum. During this time I participated in a thread that made light of sexual assault and event making jokes about it. I didn't think much of it at the time other than portraying a villain. I am older, looking back see how unacceptable & disgusting. I removed the comments because I do not wish to condone this behaviour. But of course fragments remain. I can only apologise for any hurt of distress caused.

As long as the opposing counsel doesn't object, you can do anything that would ordinarily get you held in contempt or disbarred.

Everybody lies.

At least one judge will let you drink coffee during a trial.

If the law's against you, pound the facts. If the facts are against you, pound the law. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table.

Prosecutors make a lot more money than defense attorneys.
"The qualities of a good prosecutor are as elusive and as impossible to define as those of a
gentleman. And those who need to be told would not understand anyway."
