Iris was very skeptical. She knew that there was no way that Dahlia would be that short-sighted, but had to pry for more information in an unobtrusive manner if she was to get any information. "That's where this man comes in, right?" Iris hoped she could pull a "Rise From the Ashes" out of this unexpected meeting.

Leon would pull out his gun and point it at her. "...I have a name." Then he put it back into his robe. He watched Iris carefully, he had absoluty no intention of trusting her.

"Leon!" Dahlia snapped. "Point that thing at her one more time without my command, and I'll be putting something in your head!"

She rubbed her temple to soothe her nerves. "He will be acting as my second set of eyes, to make sure you don't try anything stupid if you agree to work with me, and to watch over me if you refuse."

Dahlia's snapping at Leon made Iris surprised. Dahlia showing herself to be exasperated at Leon's threats made her seem far more human than she had appeared. Perhaps she wasn't as evil toward her... Iris was beginning to convince herself that Dahlia cared about her. She clearly had the upper hand in this, and could have carried out the plan without her. She even came back for her and made her warmer. Being nice had all seemed a farce until she told Leon to stop. Iris was (a bit foolishly) deluding herself, but it was a nice departure from all the pressure she was receiving. But, as she was trying to convince herself that everything could be fine if she worked with Dahlia, a thought came to her. If Leon was watching over her and Phoenix.....

After the long silence in which she thought of this, she smiled an actual smile.

Leon noticed she was smiling. He would have pointed his gun directly at her smirk, however he was being..asked..not to. "..I did not fire. You are dealing with an assassin though, it is my instinct.." He explained. "Iris...you seem happy. Why?"

"Well, control your trigger finger or you're going to ruin everything," she replied curtly. Turning back to Iris, she continued. "Do you have any other questions, little sister?"

Keeping her smile on her face, Iris responded, "Only one, sister. I've had a realization, and so my question is... When shall we start?"

Leon stood still, however he still voiced his opinion. "...Iris. I do not trust you. I cannot trust you. And it would be wiser should Dahlia throw you back in the ice cavern." He starred at Iris through his mask.

"What could she possibly do with you watching her like a hawk?" Dahlia tilted her head. "Or don't you trust your own ability?" Still, Iris' sudden change of heart hadn't escaped her notice...

"Tomorrow, around noon. So you should get some sleep now, you wouldn't want your sweetie seeing you exhausted, right?"

Iris didn't look forward to sleeping in the ice cold cave. It was hard to sleep anywhere colder than Hazakura Temple, but that cave was the one colder place."Dahlia... you've shown me that you truly care about someone who you have complete power over. You don't need me, and you don't truly trust me, and there's no reason you have to treat me well or tell this man to stop threatening me, and yet you did. It makes me think that you are less vengeful than before. There's only one request I have to make about this whole plan." Iris put on a worried face. "You've hurt so many people you don't need to in your crimes. To guarentee to me that this will be your last crime, promise me you won't hurt anyone else than your target in any way. Especially not Pearl. Alright?"

Leon sighed. "If I'm watching her like a hawk, I assume you want me to stay up all night and watch her." He laughed. "Easy. I used to be an assassin. If there is anything I trust, its my own ability."

Dahlia looked at her sister as though she'd sprouted horns, then clucked her tongue. "I don't know what this nonsense you're blabbering is about, but as far as 'sparing' others...well, that will depend on your performance, won't it? So long as they don't get in my way, I have no interest in Phoenix Wright or Pearl Fey."

She turned to the masked man. "No, I want you to sleep now so you'll be alert and focused tomorrow. I don't need to sleep, so I'll be staying up."

Iris was very tired, as she would have normally been sleeping before she even left. And standing there in such a high-intensity situation for so long had drained her. She retreated to her cold cell, but with the addition of robes from the nearby drawers it was not so bad. "Sister..." she said, as she remembered that she wouldn't be sleeping, "rest peacefully."

She relaxed.

Leon nodded and sat down against the rock wall of a cave. His guns were still in his hands. "..then I will sleep. I sleep remarkibly lightly. Whisper my name and I'll wake up.." he said and very calm breathing came from his mask.

"I don't think that will be needed, but alright."

She pulled herself back up and walked back to the gate, sighing. "...Iris, unless you don't trust yourself enough to not attempt an escape, get out of the cave. You won't be of any use if you get sick."

Leon breaths a total of 1500 breaths. Exactly, at the moment he wakes up. Thats how he trained himself to wake up, he counts his breaths, even subconsciously. How you ask? Lets just say its not easy, but it is necessary if your an assassin, and you forget your alarm clock. He stands up and looks over at Dahlia. "...so, who shall we kill today?"

Iris was only half asleep. She could only get so much rest, with so much to contemplate. In one part of the night, she tried to think about what could possibly be done to save Maya if possible. As the time progressed, her thoughts drifted to less serious things, like what Phoenix would think of her after all this time. What she didn't think much about is how she would need to focus for the next day. She pretended to be asleep.

The possessed woman sat silently on the icy floor of the temple, her back against the clothing dresser, arms wrapped around her legs, chin propped on her knees... Her eyes shifted in and out of focus on a stray, black bang hanging before them that she couldn't be bothered to push back into place. It wasn't that she needed rest herself; far from it. Sleep was for people with their own bodies, which she forced herself to accept was one small advantage to being trapped in this wretched state. It wouldn't do at all to have the form she had assumed the previous day collapse from exhaustion before she'd completed her goal, though, so she remained in this position, conserving energy through the night.

Night... Was it still night? It was impossible to tell without looking outside, and she didn't feel like getting up to check.

When imagining how it must be drifting through oblivion for eternity, one thing that doesn't usually come immediately to mind is how easy it is to lose the ability to judge time. What was the point if nothing would ever change? She had no idea whether she had last existed on this plane months or even years ago, though from her sister's appearance, she guessed it was most likely the former.

Her sister... Traitor.

She hadn't actually expected Iris to do what she was asking; she only offered it to her to let her writhe a bit in knowing people important to her would be murdered by someone with her face, and she would be helpless to do anything about it. Maybe she had goaded her too much? But what was she planning to do? Iris didn't have the guts to openly defy her 'older sister', and she knew what would happen to her beloved if she tried...

In all honesty, she admitted talking with the little backstabber again after who-knows-or-cares time hadn't been completely repulsive; at least it drew her attention away from the voice in her head for a while. But Iris had been asleep for some time, and the words haunting her had grown progressively noisier in the quiet chamber. A ghost being haunted? It might have been an amusing thought had it not been happening to her.

...You will never defeat me.

Weak creature...

You'll never win at anything...

"...shut up..." she muttered under her breath, unable to hear Leon's hail.

Miserable... Pathetic...

"Shut up..." she repeated.

One failure after another...

You're destined to lose for all eternity...

"SHUT UP!!"

The woman finally snapped out of her daze. She ignored the suprised looks her scream had garnered from the others, pulled herself up on stolen feet, and dusted the non-existant dust from her violet robe. "Let's go," she ordered simply as she finally fixed her stray hair.

I'll show you who's a pathetic failure, you bitch... You took everything from me; my life, my dignity, my pride... Now you'll suffer until the end of time for it...

Leon watched Dahlia struggle with her thoughts, but was reluctant to step in and say something. He left Iris asleep on the ground near him. Then he heard Dahlia talk. He stood up tall, and threw off the robe, revealing his white suit with his red tie. He pulled out one of his guns and cocked it. "So who gets to die this day?"

Iris couldn't help but feel pity for her sister. She heard her get up, and promptly arose herself. To be a soul with unrequited emotion, whether good or evil, had to be painful... but Iris was truly in this because she believed that her sister wasn't completely merciless. And that Maya may have a stronger chance without having... Iris could only hope that opportunity would favor her this day.

She rubbed her eyes, although she had been only half asleep for an hour or so. "You haven't quite explained what I need to do today. Could you elaborate on how I am to contact Phoenix? Or how I will convince Bikini to let me leave? She will be very suspicious that I was not in the temple this morning, so we have to come up with something quickly."

Iris noticed the bleach white jacket Leon was wearing. It was quite blinding under the rising sun coming through the door, coupled with the snow. His mask also was blinding. How ironic it was that such a dark man was so radiant here. Still, anyone could see his true nature with a quick glance. Even with the sun in your eyes.

Dahlia ground her teeth, fighting back the urge to shoot Leon then and there. Was this bloodthirsty man really a 'great assassin' as he claimed? More importantly, was he really interested in helping her, or was he just looking for any reason to kill someone? "I. Told. You. Yesterday." she slowly answered him with forced patience. "Your role in this is to watch over my sister. If she does anything suspicious, kill Wright. That is all you'll do unless I tell you otherwise.

"And Iris," she continued, spinning around to her double to unload any remaining crankiness on her, "Can't you figure anything out yourself?" She pulled the phone she'd stored in her robe out by the strap and dangled it in Iris' face. "I'll call Phoenix. If Bikini has a phone, I'll call her too; if she doesn't, she won't have any way to contact you and won't present a problem, correct?" she smirked.

She returned her sister's cell to the inside of her robe. "But before that..." The uneasy feeling in my stomach has to go, she finished to herself. Dahlia marched up to the tuxedoed man and glared at him through his eyeholes. "You're going to tell me your story now. I want to know why you're so interested in assisting me before we go any further."

Odd. My post must not have registered last time I sent it. I'll post it again.

Leon put his gun back into his jacket. He rolled his eyes behind his mask, and took out a small rag and a bottle with the wrapper scratched off. "Chloroform. Incase you want to be sure Bikini does not get into any troube, and yet we steer clear of any killings." Then he looked at Iris, who he was supposed to look over. "...look over her, if she does something suspisious, kill Wright. I'll do it, even though it is a waste of my...talents." Leon sighed and looked down, when he looked up Dahlia was starring him down.

Leon put out his arms, shrugged and then put them back. "...My story is boring, it is pointless, and it is irrelevent to our actions today...just know that in a court case a while back things were said to you...I dont think you could forget them...foolish things. Lies. I am here to correct them. So I wont tell my entire story, just know that I am Leon Nihil. I am--was a professional killer. I broke out of jail....and I am here to help you."

Iris turned her head away from the bright sun, then faced Dahlia. "As I thought about my options last night, several points came to me. I would only be a point of convenience to you. Last night, you had total control of me. And yet, you always gave me the choice of what to do. Albiet, the choice was usually a bit one sided... but that's not the point. You still got the robes out, actually told me about your plan when it wouldn't necessarily benefit you, and came back and let me be comfortable before I even agreed to be on your side. The deciding factor, however, came through an accidental source."

She motioned to Leon. "You don't tend to fake anger. But you were angry at Leon for constantly threatening me. If you were just in control and using me, there's no reason you should have objected to me being scared. You refused to treat me like I was a pawn in your game--like someone other than yourself mattered to you."

Iris looked at Dahlia directly. "I meditated over it while we slept. All the respect that you gave me while I required none--and just now, when you said specifically that noone else should be hurt-- made me convinced that you did value life. I thought that you at least deserve one more chance to change your life, rest your soul. If I cooperate, you may get the choice over whether to value or destroy someone's life by yourself, without circumstance... and just maybe, you can make the choice that will finally bring your soul to rest."

"That's why I'm specifically requesting that when it comes down to it, noone but your... target... may get hurt."

(NOTE:I am NOT this cheesy of a person. I am simply in character. I don't particularly value life either. )

Dahlia raised one eyebrow curiously. "Oh, I'm sorry, did what I just said sound like a question to you, Leon?" she asked, placing one hand on her hip. "It wasn't meant to be. I'll decide what's relevant to me, and as for being boring, well...let's just say being dead has a funny way of teaching you patience." She turned to her other half to fire daggers from her eyes as she finished her explanation.

"As for you..." Dahlia applauded Iris mockingly. "You've clearly been spending far too much time with Phoenix Wright to still be spouting this drivel. I value life? I have a chance to change my life?" Her hand thrust out to grip Iris' upper arm tightly. She twisted sharply and narrowed her eyes, glaring at her reflection. "What life would I be changing? Need I remind you that I'm DEAD, Iris?! The only thing that could ever satisfy me is Mia Fey's agony! Now drop this 'mercy' garbage or I'll leave you here!"

Leon chuckled as Dahlia put him back *in his place*. "..Dahlia, you have just proved my loyalty. The way you spoke to me just now, you realize I will answer to you. Were I not helping you, you would not have that body and even if you did, I would not need to explain myself to you." Then he sighed. "...very well, not a question, an order then hm....I'm Leon. I was there in your jail. I saw you get...excecuted. I took that oppertunity, the guards wanted to see you die, so I let a revolt during your hanging, the inmates surrounded the guards, while I slipped into the armory. I stole some guns, some body armor, and I broke out." Then he streamed his hair back. "...I became Leon Nihil the assassin once more. I watched Maya's trail, I watched your soul burn in the courtroom. I cant tell you why, but at that moment I decided to help you. Those things Mia said to you...those lies. I am here to correct them." Leon looked right at Dahlia. "..your order was obeyed. You see? The last thing I lack is loyalty, the next is skill."

Dahlia's reaction was not unexpected. If she had anything such as a conscience then she would not have done half the horrible things she'd done. But her angering Dahlia and Leon seemed to be creating more than enough chaos to slow them down. Although her life being thrown around like some kind of poker chip was disconcerting.

"Yes, I've heard this before, Leon. How nice that you've avoided telling me the bit I actually care to know." Dahlia flicked her hair back with an dismissive tsk. "Fine. Keep your precious secrets. We're running short on time anyway."

Hearing no further questions or requests from her sister, she released her grip on her arm and simultaneously shoved her aside. "So are you doing this or not, Iris? I can always lock you up again, you know."

Leon grinned under his mask, fully aware that he had left that part out and fully aware that Dahlia was determined to get her goals acomplished, not waste time figuring out details with her henchmen. He wondered why Dahlia was so protective of that thing she called sister, but he eased his mind at the fact that as of now nothing had gone wrong. He stood silent behind Dahlia, keeping his eye on Iris, as he was requested.

"Yes. I will go with you. If you prefer I act forced into this, I can do that as well," she said in a flatter, more curt voice. Iris knew Dahlia was not one person who liked to feel out of control. Being sisters had told her enough about that.

"Oh no, dear sister, I would never want to feel as if I was forcing you to do anything..." Dahlia purred as she swung the temple door open. She sucked in a large breath of the crisp morning air. "Lovely mornings here in the mountains, aren't they?" Dahlia spun on her heel, beckoned to her accomplices with one hand and an encouraging grin. "Let's hurry."

Leon nodded and walked out the door, then walked down to the foot of the mountain, took a look at the car he had hotwired and shot the window. He climbed in through the window and started it going again. He kept watching Iris, it must have been disturbing for her. At all times, a strange dark man with a mask, a man who has committed murder in the past, starring directly at her, watching her move.

He had the car turned on, and unlocked the doors, then awaited Dahlia's commands.

Iris directly followed Dahlia. She was still a bit resentful of Dahlia's comments before they had left, so she simply sat in the backseat of the car quickly.

"Was breaking another window really necessary?" Dahlia sighed before climbing in next to Iris. She leaned back and stretched her arms over her head. She had good reason to be in an upbeat mood; it wouldn't be long before Mia Fey and Phoenix Wright lost the one most precious to them and she would be able to rub it in their faces the way they'd mocked her entire existance. As if those worms had any idea...

She turned to her sister and noted the dark expression on her face. "Hungry?" she offered.

Leon sat in the car watching Dahlia and Iris, nodding that the window was necessary. He reached into his pocket and pulled out two bags of airline pretzels and tossed them to Dahlia. "...I was on an airline...recently." He explained. Then he started the car. "..so to Kurain?" He figured Kurain, but was following Dahlia not his suspisions.

Iris looked at Dahlia for a second, then looked out the other window. If only she could see somebody. She did genuinely want to help Dahlia, but a little insurance that Maya could be safe would be nice. She thought about Bikini for a second and how her being gone was affecting her. If Iris was lucky, she would be suspicious. On the other hand, she may simply think her being gone cute and not worry at all. Iris grew worried that it may be the former.

But why would I let some girl hog my dreams?

"I suppose this will do for now, so yes, Kurain." Dahlia lifted one of the small platic bags between her thumb and index finger and shook it temptingly at her twin. Iris seemed more interested in whatever was outside the window, so she tossed the snack into her lap. She popped her own bag open, nibbled a bit at a stale pretzel, frowned in disappointment. Back into the bag went the pretzel, prematurely ending Dahlia's classy lunch. "Quiet, please," she requested as she pulled Iris' phone out once more and dialed Phoenix's number, hoping he'd found his cell by now.

Leon did not pay much attention to what Dahlia was doing, he kept one eye on Iris the whole time via the mirrors. He took off twords Kurain the second Dahlia confirmed it was their destination. He was stil listening to the converstation however, and he noticed Iris's phone. "..hope that Phoenix found his phone, because the medium your in is going to be "missing" and the only "evidence" in the room is Phoenix Phone cast against a wall."

Iris perked up. She hadn't thought of the fact that the kidnapping of whoever was channeling Dahlia was a crime most likely being investigated by the police force already. Kurain is a protective place for its mediums, and Maya would take a disappearance seriously. Then again, she's only been gone for one day. "C'mon, Maya...." she thought. She considered the possibilities for a disappearance, and relaxed her head forward into a blank, contemplative face.

"Tch, no answer." Dahlia snapped her sister's phone shut and tossed her a sardonic grin. "Looks like he either hasn't found it yet or just doesn't want to talk to you, sis."

She leaned back in her seat again as she worked out her plan out loud. "It's just as well, if you drop in unannounced, it'll give him less time to figure out what's happening. I doubt anyone can declare 'me' missing already, it hasn't even been a full day yet, but if they are searching, it'll give you something to do with him on your little date." Noting Iris' thoughtful expression, she prodded her with, "Butterflies, little sister? You should be used to deceiving people by now..."
