OK, everyone is on about how he loves coffee. I love coffee. I have a mint mocha daily on my way to class. Does that make me mysterious and cool?

Also, men who love Yaoi? I don't know.. that's something I'd rather not touch on. If you were a homosexual man and liked Yaoi, then I would not be confused. However, a heterosexual man who enjoys Yaoi? Someone enlighten me.

Also, to Richard, I'm also confused as to how "UselessHippo" gets mixed up with "RichardWellington".
Regardless, that's in the past.

I never understood why his coffee drinking habits got so out of hand in the fandom, quite frankly. It's like Fran's whip. Just so much a part of their character, I hardly notice or care about it. I liked Godot's story, but his coffee habits weren't even anywhere near a level of cool.

I also strongly question how many people have actually played Gyakuten Saiban 3 and like Godot because of it, or whether they just see his image and fangasm over his supposed awesome nature that they've yet to see in action.

I'll say I like Godot. But not for the reason just about everyone else does. Because
Spoiler:
He's fucking mental. You can't play the last case and say Godot is remotely in the proper mind-set after that. I like Godot because he's so damn awful. Yet nobody even seems to realize that. He's not a tragic hero. He's a horrible villain!
I also agree with Croik that so many people seem to just brush that aside.

How many times can you masturbate into some character's face when you're praising them for things that shouldn't be praise-worthy? Yuusaku

It's true. We have yet to see him in action. But the man drinks 17 or 18 cups of coffee during one trial. We just like poking fun at this obsessive habit of his.

It's not that funny though. Yes, he drinks a lot of coffee. But must I be reminded that every time I go to the GameFAQS Phoenix Wright 3 board? There are at least three topics on the front page entirely about Godot and coffee.

GameFAQs is BAT SHIT INSANE. Uncyclopedia ain't got nothing on GameFAQs. Look upon the forums, ye, and despair!

So yeah, expect GameFAQs to be stupid about things like that. They still haven't gotten over SC3's Olcadan and "O RLY?"

I like Godot's design. I really don't know anything about him other than that yet. I guess I'll see how I like him when I play the game in September.

His short, indirect answers and condescending personality makes a great character.

Is there a law that says you HAVE to be gay to like yaoi? I have met a fair number of guys who admit they are turned on by certain yaoi pictures, etc. and are straight. But, back on topic. I have never played GS3, I do have a feeling I will like Godot, but who knows? It could be all the hype over his character getting to me. Turns out, I could play the game and completely despise him. But that wouldn't stop him from being a cool, mysterious visor-wearing stud, and it wouldn't make the onslaught of jokes about him stop being funny.

Throwing coffee at Phoenix is ALWAYS justified.

Let's face it : The guy is a living, breathing zombie. His sole reason for existance is defeating Phoenix because of something that nobody could have prevented.

The thing I like about Godot? The character design. He's probably the only prosecutor that dresses CASUALLY. Seriously, he gets a thumbs up for that.

Mental =/= Horrible villain. From what we can see, although we shouldn't be congratulating him, we could at least feel sorry for him. He's no hero, thats for sure but we can't call someone evil if they can't help it. Von Karma made the descision to kill Hammond, infact, he did it in cold blood. Godot saw red (Pun unintended).

GUYS, GUYS, GUYS.

Spoiler:
All you had to do was say that Godot's a baseless character, a pathetic villain made for the sole purpose od Naruhodou's (... And possibly Chihiro's?) character devlopment, and an absolute prick who only took up prosecuting just so he could get his so-called revenge on Naruhodou and Chinami, as well as pathetically making face for failing to save Chihiro by putting Mayoi, Ayame, Harumi, and Erisu in danger just so he could play Leonidas and "save" them from the Persians (Chinami). No need to suddenly turn the discussion into some "ZOMG! Godot's t3h Yaoi sex" thread or something like that. :/

Hard to believe I actually like Godot because of the above post, huh?

Okay. So why do I like Godot despite his stupidity? Four things:

Spoiler:
1. Pricks are awesome, in my opinion.
2. I'm a friggen Souryuu x Chihiro Fanboy.
3. I love coffee almost as much as he does, but I never go overboard.
4. ... I blame D.I.C.E. for making me a Phantom Knight fan. :/

Anyways...

Heh, I finally register here and my first comment is somewhat negative--nice!

I dunno, but Godot never did anything for me. I'm not saying that I think he's the bane of the universe or anything like that but frankly, I just don't like him at all. I think his 'motivation' for becoming a prosecutor is somewhat far-fetched....

After examining Godot and various fans' reactions towards him, I have come up with the two main reasons Godot has fans:

1. His Red Visor
2. His obsession with coffee.

These are the main reasons everyone not named Croik loves Godot.
