Doug sighed deeply without thinking, and then noticed the look on Gregors face.
"Sorry" Doug said, "It's a habit of mine that I really need to deal with." He stood up and stretched; it had been a long night and he was extremely tired. "I need you to come with me; we're going to find them before Dahlia can do anything". He stopped for a second before finishing his sentence with "Unless she already has, and then I'll probably feel guilty for the rest of my life."

"Sounds like a plan," Gregor assented, "But we have several targets and one suspect. It sounds to me like the more efficient immediate measure would be to track Dahlia. If we find some of the others along the way, we could take them with us. Let's see...if I were Dahlia, I'd probably try to herd my targets to a remote location where I could deal with them in relative obscurity, but it wouldn't be very practical to make that too far away. Where does that leave us...? Should we try Dusky Bridge?"

"Took your time" replied Doug, and then gave a tiny smile to make sure that Gregor realised he was joking. "We need to be going now, if not sooner" The new intreped party (of two) prepared their equipment and then began to walk towards the front gate. There was only one problem left: Transport.

Gregor cracked a quiet grin, acknowledging the joke, and with a quick jerk of the head, signaled Doug to follow. They wound their way through the crowded parking lot. On the way, Gregor spied a set of black tire marks on the pavement. Someone was in a hurry...Maybe it was one of them. Moved with a new sense of urgency, Gregor quickened the pace. Thirty seconds later, he reached his destination. Suspecting he may have left Doug a little ways behind, he turned around and was pleasantly surprised to see Doug right behind him. "Shall we go?" He indicated the blue-green minivan which stood in front of them. "It may not be a Corvette, but it'll serve our purposes."

"...sister...please don't leave me..." Iris whimpered in futility as the warmth seeped irreversibly from Dahlia's body. With the world crumbling around her, it took some time to realize someone was standing over her. She removed her attention from her twin for the first time since beholding her fate and peered at the man through her watery eyes. "Someone's coming...right?" she squeaked hopefully, forcing a smile that only called forth more tears. Before the man could respond, she turned back to her sister to report the good news. "You'll be alright soon, sis...please, just hold on a little longer..."

Stefan wandered in the forest, listening to music through his earphones. He occaisonally muttered some of the lyrics under his breath. "The harder it gets for everyone e-else..." He walked through a clearing with his eyes closed, pretending to play his guitar (and being within one or two frets of the places they'd be on his guitar). He slipped, one earphone falling out. Oops, he'd been closer to the river then he'd thought. He stood back up, brushing the dirt from his clothes. He took his other earphone out, any form of actual rhythm lost. He looked around. He saw Iris and Dahlia ((who he doesn't know, but I'm using their names for sake of sense.)), and noticed the red-headed girl had very white cheeks... her chest wasn't moving...

He dialed 911 on his mobile phone. "Hello?"

((Yeah, you lot can predict what he's gonna say now. So, run with it =P))

Things moved rather swiftly once the paramedics were called. Despite the distant location they arrived about thirty minutes after the call was made and Dahlia was loaded onto the back of the ambulance and any other injured were being checked and ushered. It wasn't long after that the police arrived along with search and rescue. Phoenix Wright was still unaccounted for.

Meanwhile Emi had sketched the entire garden and was moving on to other rooms of the manor.

[OOC: How you want the paramedics to deal with your character is entirely up to you. I just threw up the brief summarization to help move things along.]

"No, I don't know anything." "But you reported the crime!" "I stumbled upon the scene - quite literally." "Were you invovled?" "Haven't I answered this?" "No." "No, I'm not involved." "Are you injured?" "No." "Are you lying?" "No." "Are you-" "Listen, why the fuck are you asking me this? I answered you the frist time round." Stefan and a patrolman were involved in a small arguement. Stefan proceeded to get more and more annoyed at the patrolman. "You'll have to make a court statement." "Do I also need to quest for the Sword of Idiotism?"

Eventually, the patrolman finished. Stefan fumed quietly. He then milled around in the crowd, looking for some of the other students. Maybe they'd have ANY form of answer as to what the hell had gone out.

[OOC: At this point, there are a few minutes until the paramedics arrive.]

Doug nodded in agreement and they boarded the minivan. Once in the driver's seat, Gregor started the engine and within seconds, they were off. I hope we find her in time... He drove as fast as he could comfortably go: 5 mph over the speed limit. The last thing they needed was to get stopped by a policeman. Thankfully, Eagle Mountain was fairly close. When they reached the bridge, a chill much like what he had experienced in the student lounge swept over Gregor. There's definitely something wrong here. In front of them a man and woman could be seen, apparently dazed. What's more, something was almost imperceptibly pricking his ears. Am I hearing something? He approached the bridge. Gradually he picked up a high-pitched moan in the distance. Why, if I heard that correctly, I'd swear that sound is coming from below! It was then that he first truly noticed the bridge. That's no bridge! That's a gorge! ...Did someone set the bridge on fire? Looking down over the edge, he could not believe his eyes. There on the riverbank were two Dahlia Hawthornes, one apparently mourning the other. "Doug...I think you'll want to see this." Almost immediately after those words escaped his lips, he heard sirens rapidly approaching. "This might be your last chance."

(OOC: This is cooperating with Gregory's post, since I want to have a say in what happens after that too. XD)

Chris stood up, dusting himself off after seeing the two men arrive. As he heard sirens, he quickly reacted by pulling Meghan up gently. "I guess someone called them," he said. He walked up to the man who was looking out towards the gorge, and decided to speak. "Er... who are you, and why are you here?" Before the other man could answer, Chris looked down and saw Iris cradling Dahlia. "So she really is dead... oh man, poor Iris..." Even though he hated Dahlia for what she did, seeing Iris scream in agony made a pang of guilt run through him.

Startled, Gregor turned to the masculine voice that addressed him. Of course. I'd completely forgotten about him. He opened his mouth to answer, but before he could speak, his interlocutor turned and muttered something that hit him like a blow from a sledgehammer.

"So she really is dead... oh man, poor Iris..."
"You know which is which?"

Remembering the man's question, he shook his head and began to introduce himself. "I'm sorry. Gregor Helmer. Doug over there alerted me to a situation involving Dahlia Hawthorne and we drove up here, thinking to find and restrain her before anything else happened. ...Dahlia's dead, huh?" After a short shocked pause, Gregor cracked a wan, wry smile. "Well, I guess that settles our immediate problem. Not the way I would've done it, but...oh well. Anyway, your name?"

"Chris Hall. Nice to meet you." Chris tore his eyes away from the sad Iris and faced the man. "And yes, I do know the difference... I was one of the ones who faced Dahlia on the bridge." He indicated the burned-down bridge. "Dahlia attempted to kill us, and herself, by burning down this bridge. Just to get revenge on me and a few others... it was quite a waste." He sighed. "The rest of it is too long a story to tell here. I'm sure Doug has filled you in, or will soon, about Dahlia herself, but her sister is nothing like her. I felt guilty seeing Iris like this now, Dahlia losing her life to her own plan."

Draco couldn't respond to the girl's reaction, and felt he didn't need to. He simply waited for help to arive and bring them back up. All the while, his mind drinfted back to teh spikey-haired young man. He was unable to retrieve him from the river, and felt it might be too late for him.

When the paramedics arived, he and the girl were lifted back up onto the side, alond with the body of Dahlia Hawthorne. When police came to him for questioning, he told them all he could. About how he saw Dahlia with the lighter in her hand, how she set the bridge on fire, and the man and woman dropped from the bridge. "I was able to save the girl," he stated. "But....the other one, the male, he's still in the river. You need to get a search and rescue team out there looking!"

When Doug first looked over the side of the gorge and saw the scene at the bottom of it, it was like he was in a dream. He just sat down on the edge, silently. He stayed like that until the rescue team had arrived and finished their recovery information. He stood up abruptly and began to stride quickly towards the waiting ambulance, past the suprised people around him.

The first thing he did when if first saw Dahlia lying there was recoil at the gruesomeness of her injuries. But then, he realised how peaceful she looked in death; she would never have to struggle with life ever again. "I'd just like to say, that I forgive you for what you tried to do to me" he said quietly. "May God have mercy on your soul... because you're going to need it." The paramedics loaded the lifeless Dahlia Hawthorn into the ambulance, and Doug swallow turned towards where the others were and sank down in the dust.

Eyes down and still sobbing softly but otherwise silent, Iris walked alongside her twin and the man she didn't know, gripping Dahlia's icy hand as the paramedics wheeled her to the ambulance. Hair soggy and wild, clothing tattered, covered in cuts and scrapes from the fall and subsequent climb up the jagged rockbed... She looked absolutely stunning compared to how she felt. Despite the rescue team's swift response, this last hour had been a hellish nightmare, soon to be made worse by the statement given by the man who saved her.

"He's...he's what?" Iris choked, snapping her head up. Her Feenie was missing? No! No, it couldn't be! Even with everything that had happened, how could she have forgotten for so long? He'd just saved her from dying on that bridge, and because of that... What kind of horrible person was she? Instinctively, she screamed his name and dashed in the direction of the river again, but with her own injuries combined with the physical and emotional exhaustion from the ordeal, she only made it a few feet before her legs buckled and she collapsed in a pitiful, miserable heap. "Please..." she snivelled to anyone who would hear her prayer, facedown in the dirt. "I can't lose them both...please..." It wasn't long before she was loaded into the ambulance with her sister.

"That is ironic. It'd be funny if it weren't so sad." Gregor turned briefly to check on Doug. "Boy...poor Doug must be all over the map emotionally, right now. He used to date Dahlia--directly, as far as I know. ...What a mess." Turning back to Chris, he took fresh notice of the woman with him. I probably already know the answer to this question, but I might as well make sure. He indicated Chris's companion. "I take it she was involved too?"

Chris turned to Meghan, who he saw walk over to him. He turned back to Gregor and nodded. "Yes. We were all victims of Dahlia's malice. She poisoned me, attempted to kill Suzumi..." he indicated Suzumi over near them, "and of course, with that, she had hurt Meghan pretty badly because she had nearly lost her friend," Chris indicated Meghan as he said that. "She also tried to kill Phoenix, who is also missing at this time. We also have reason to believe she held a bit of malice towards her sister for some reason." He shook his head. "It's kind of sad, honestly... why she would have held that much malice, that much motivation for revenge... and she knew it would take her life; whether or not it would take ours was thrown in the air."

"S'cuse me..." One of the paramedics interjected on the conversation; a 20-something man, brown shaggy hair of average length, average build, average height, average in virtually every way and interesting in none. According to the patch on his shirt, his name was Wary. "You're friends of the twins, right? My condolences." He pulled a card from his pocket and handed it to Chris. "We're taking them back now, we're worried about the other one doing something desperate if she stays here, and it looks like everyone else is safe..." He paused to consider that last statement. "Besides the missing guy, I mean. Not to sound heartless or anything, but we have to help who we can find so we're going to have to leave him to the police..."

"Mort! Hurry it up already!" a woman shouted from the ambulance cab.

"Right, sorry!" Mort called back, then finished his speech. "Anyway, the address to the hospital's on that card, just in case you don't know where it is. The girl doesn't seem too badly injured, so she shouldn't be in too long, but I thought you might want to visit anyway." The dull man waved to the group before boarding the emergency vehicle and riding off.

Thunk and rush. That was pretty much all Phoenix's body could do until it got caught onto a nearby rock. He hadn't broken anything, which was good considering who found him.
"Oh my!" A small portly woman held her hands in front of her mouth to hide her shock. She did her best to pull him out, but her poor back had seen better days. "Oh, I wish Iris hadn't run off when she did." The women muttered once she had Phoenix out of the water and into the snow. "She could have at least helped."
"Urgh." Phoenix grunted. The hefty woman jumped in surprise. Like she were expecting him to be a zombie instead of a person. Phoenix shakily pushed himself up, but immediately collapsed after.
"Well don't you have a fighter's spirit." The woman smiled down at him. "Now don't you go anywhere! I'll fetch the plow!" She announced and hobbled off.

"Thank you, Sir." Chris replied, taking the card. "Well Chris..." Gregor began once the paramedic had left, "Now that the most serious crisis is resolved, this brings us to some new questions. First, who else might be unaccounted for? We know Phoenix is missing...is there anyone else of whom we've lost track? Also, Phoenix would seem to be our next immediate concern, but Mr. Wary may have a point--we might want to give Iris some emotional support before we go look for him. For that matter, it looks like the police are looking for Phoenix. Should we search for him or leave that to the police?"

(For the record, I don't like it when people use my character, even slightly, without permission. I remembered to tell Gerk that, but I forgot to announce it here. For now, however, I trust everyone in this RP [I have no reason not to], so everyone may do minimal responses from Chris if I'm gone for long periods of time.

And again, for now, I'll take command of Meghan until LSH is done with her finals. We can't leave her hanging here. She trusts me, and I'll try not to do anything major with her.)

Chris contemplated the situation. "I don't think it's safe to go down that river right now. Someone needs to go back to the Aogirl Manor and bring Emi back to the University. I'm not sure what we should do about Phoenix. I'm pretty sure that river goes to the bank over there," he pointed towards the temple, "and if we go there, we should find him. Then again, Iris does need consoling, and I feel partially guilty for all of this, so I think I will opt to go try and make her feel better. If you wish, you could go find him, and then call me if you do." He handed Gregor his number. "If you find him, call me and I'll try and bring Iris here."

He turned to Meghan. "Are you coming with me?"

She responded by nodding. "Of course I'm coming, Chris. I can't let you go alone... I want to help Iris feel better too. This is a serious ordeal for her, even after what we all just faced..."

The temple sounds like a good place to start. After I check the temple, though, I think I'll stop by Aogirl Manor to check on Emi. Do you have directions there?" He turned to Doug. "Doug, I'm going to look for Phoenix and then check on Emi. You were close to Dahlia, so I'll leave it up to you what you want to do. I wouldn't blame you if you went to the hospital to comfort Iris or simply went somewhere private to grieve. The choice is yours."

Suzumi stared down at the spot where Dahlia had fallen and died, a cold look in her eye.
"Aw, c'mon, m'am...yo-" Mrs Q began.
"Looks like it didn't work out how I wanted...but it seems to have succeeded anyway. She got what she deserved." Suzumi said bitterly.

((OOC: They put Dahlia into the ambulance and carried her off with Iris. Of course, she's still pretty much dead, so she's all up to you.))

Chris turned to Suzumi. "Suzumi, you need to head back to the Manor and check on Emi. Gregor over here's going to go and find Phoenix. Meghan and I are going to the hospital to check up on Iris, and we're going to try and cheer her up."

Before he could do much else, however, he heard a voice. "You're aliiiive!"

"...Oh no," said Chris. He turned to see a dark green-haired girl run to the scene, and tackle him to the ground. "Give me a break! Now, of all times!?"

"What? I just wanted to make sure you were okay!" said the girl, frowning. "After all, the moment I heard the radio report of the incident, I came right over!"

"I'm fine!" said Chris, standing up and brushing himself off. "See? I'm okay!"

"Well, how was I supposed to know that?" asked the girl, who put her hands on her hips in a 'hmph!' stance. "You're my big brother, and I didn't want you to get hurt!"

Chris sighed, and shook his head. "Look, I'm glad you came to check up on me, but aren't you supposed to be in school right now?"

"It ended just a bit ago," said the girl. "And I had nowhere else to go, so I took a taxi and came down near the River... what happened here?"

Stefan's milling around had done him nothing. Everyone there was an absolute stranger. And he was fed up of the officers. "Are you involved?" "Are you involved?" "Are you involved?" "Who are you?" He did notice a 17-year-old girl, with green hair, run towards someonw who he THOUGHT might be from the College he walked in the general direction of them, but not actually showing any attention.

(If Franzise is willing to help, I think a little spirit channeling would be in order with the idea I've come up with. Of course, let's try to keep this OFF Dahlia for a while. End the Dahlia Saga and begin the...whatever Saga.
Well, the Dahlia Saga is ALMOST OVER...I'll need LSH to help wrap up just one loose end...and nothing against you, but I'd think it'd be best if she was in control. I'm not saying you're bad at RPing or anything, you're fantastic, on the contary. I just think it'd play out better this way.)

"Chris...may I ask what your relationship is to this girl?" Suzumi asked, staring at the girl who had now appeared.
"Heh, getting a little lolita action?" Mrs Q grinned.

(OOC: I have to keep control of Meghan until LSH comes back. She's dealing with finals, and until then she said she can't really RP. If you wanna wait until she comes back, you should do so. *nod*)

Chris sighed. "This is my little sister, Jade. Jade, everyone."

Jade waved at everyone. "Hiiii, everyone~!" She gave off a big grin.

Chris turned to Jade. "You should get back home. You know that they'll be worried."

"Ah, who cares? I never get to spend time with my bro anymore!" she responded.

"This is no time for that!" Chris shook his head. "I'm sorry, Jade, but we're in a pretty big emergency right now. Someone's missing, and I have to go talk to someone."

Jade then immediately noticed Chris and Meghan holding hands, as if instinctively. "Ooh, oh oh, is this your girlfriend!?"

Chris facepalmed.

A laugh or two escaped Stefan's lips. He strolled past the group, looking at the male he thought he'd recognized. Nope, not him. He decided to introduce himself then - at the worst possible time.

Chris was about to open his mouth to respond to Jade, but then this other man had approached them, asking who they are. He rose an eyebrow. "It's kinda rude to ask for someone else's name just like that... especially without introducing yourself first."

Meghan, however, was busy flushing red from Jade's repeated verbal poking at her relationship.

"We met her...and well, bridges don't set themselves alight." Suzumi indicated the now smoke covered bridge.
"She did it...but it's a long story..." Suzumi sighed.
"M'am, don't we need to head back to the Manor?"
"Perfectly right...It was nice meeting you."

Suzumi walked across the grass to the car with Mrs Q when she turned to Chris.
"Be strong...for Iris's sake."
She then got into the car, which immediatly acclerated down the rocky road.

"My name is Chris Hall," said Chris. "This here is Meghan--"

Jade jumped in front of them and gave off a huge smile and wave. "Hi! My name is Jade Hall. It's very nice to meet you."

Chris and Meghan merely sweatdropped. How'd I know she would do that...? Chris thought.

"Anyway, we need to get on to the hospital..." Chris nodded at Suzumi as she left. He quickly led Meghan to the car.

"Heeey! What about me!?" demanded Jade.

"Fine, fine... come on, then!" said Chris with a sigh.

Jade got in the backseat, and they drove off.

Gregor watched passively as Suzumi went her way and Chris went his, leaving three men on the rocks--each one an island. Heh. As always, when the crowd gets moving, I get left behind. Oh well. I guess that means one less responsibility on my shoulders. That reminds me: this "Emi" appears to have similar luck with large groups. I wonder if I'll meet her. Doug had almost become one with the stone, apparently rooted in his own Garden of Gethsemane. The last one--the man who identified himself as Stefan--had the air of one present entirely by accident and not likely to be interested in getting even more entangled in this great spider web. Nonetheless, Gregor couldn't bring himself to ignore him. Well, back to work. "Excuse me...Stefan, is it? I felt I owed it to you to introduce myself before I left. My name is Gregor Helmer, and I'm wondering if you'd like to help me search for a missing person. You're free to decline if you wish. I'd understand if you'd rather not get involved. Just thought I should ask."

"Yes, that's my name, Mr. Helmer. I'd be willing to help you find the person if you want me to." Stefan said, taking out his earphone. He put them itno his ears, testing them. The right one was fine, but the left one didn't give any noise at all. Stefan swore briefly, before returning them back to his pocket.
