"I am doing my job." She said coldly. "And you are in my way." She held up the gun that likely made the hole in the wall behind Phoenix. Nick instinctually grabbed Mia and yanked her to the ground, but there was no sound of gunshots.
"Oh relax, she can't kill you." Miles said calmly. "It would look too much like fowl play. That's not the goal here, now is it?" He got his teas in a satisfactory order and turned around. "Well at least not until she can get you out of the house. Then she can just make it look like you've had various unfortunate accidents."
"Nonsense." The woman replied. "I can cap you both here, thrash the place about, make it look like a robbery. Melissa's red clad prince has enough junk in his system right now no one would believe his eye witness story."
"Well, yes. I suppose there is that." Miles admitted.

"Don't get me wrong. If I don't have to kill you then that's great." The woman kept her gun trained on them as she spoke. "But you two are way too persistent to just threaten and go about my business."
"Well the robbery thing is a bit thin, don't you think? People might poke about, get suspicious, I know a couple of detectives that would believe my story and investigate."
"True." She agreed. "I can't really just go about shutting them all up, can I? Hmmm, this raises a quandary, doesn't it? Let's see. I can always just make your statements less credible. Mr. Wright here is really due for a bit of a break down, and Ms. Fey is still a Fey. A little mucking about, spread some rumors, easy enough to fix really. The woman deftly switched out her guns. "Alright now, be a good boy and hold still. These are expensive little things and I hate having to waste them." She aimed it at Phoenix.

Seeing that gun aimed at Phoenix snapped Mia out of the infuriated stuppor she'd been in. She quickly shoved Phoenix over to the side, away from the woman and taking him out of her cross-hairs for the moment. The woman let out an irritated noise and was adjusting her aim when a wine bottle connected with the back of her head knocking her forward.

"Look at this mess." Miles grumbled as wine continued to drip off the broken bottle neck in his hand. "I'm going to have to clean this up." He walked over to his sink to fetch the supplies. As the woman fell forward the gun was jarred from her hand and skidded across the room. Nick dove for it and had it aimed at her as she grunted and stood up. She did not look pleased, but when her cold blue eyes caught Nick's shaky aim she smiled some. "Oh please. You don't have the-" She didn't get to finish her sentence when a dart from it hit her in the arm. Her eyes widened and she stumbled back. Nick tossed the gun into the sink, grabbed Miles by his jacket, and yanked him out of there as he ran for the door. When he turned to see if Mia was behind him he didn't notice the large man blocking the front door.

Mia quickly followed behind Phoenix and Miles, but a little ways back. She slowed down as she saw the larger man blocking the door. She was about to warn Phoenix until he ran into the man and fell backwards. Mia found herself looking back at the kitchen apprehensively and back to the brick wall of a man guarding the door. Mia grumbled under her breath. "Shit."

Nick glared up at the large man from his place on the floor. Then rammed his foot into his crotch. The man went down like a ton of bricks.
"Really sorry." Nick apologized, snatches Miles again, and jumped over the heap to get out the door.

They were able to find a few fingerprints left on the desk, most belonging to Miles Edgeworth according to the files. Just as Draco thought, this was a dead end. "Val, it's getting late. Head back to the prescint and have the reports filled out. Looks like our arsonist get's another day of freedom."

"All right," Valerie said quizitively. "But...where are you going."

"I'm going to have a little talk with Mr. Edgeworth. He never came to us to file his insurance. Truth be told I'm a bit worried. I'll go check up on him and then get back to you."

"Okay," she said, and kissed him on the cheek. "Just be careful. I've a bad feeling about this."

"That makes two of us," he muttered as she left.
-----------------

Draco took around fifteen minutes finding the apartment complex that Edgeworth resided. He got out of the car, checking his firearm before setting it in his hoister, then proceed to Edgeworth's apartment room. He knocked on the door, only to find it was ajar. Sensing something was wrong, he pulled his Glock from the hoister, held it ready, and kicked the door open. "Don't move!" He shouted, holding the Glock out ready, "Police! Get your hands where I can see them!!" He then noticed Mr. Wright and Mr. Edgeworth, along with an unknown large man curled on the ground groaning. "What the hell?" he hissed.

Mia quickly adjusted to the situation and walked up to where Phoenix and Miles were standing. Her voice had a hint of relief in it, even though she attempted to keep an even tone. "Officer, your timing couldn't be better."

"Apparently so," Draco replied, bending down and cuffing the big guy. He pulled out his cell phone and dialed Valerie up. "Val, I'm going to need squad cars down here. Something came up....Great get them here as fast as you can." He clicked his cellphone. "Now, is there anyone else in the appartment I should know of?"

"AAAHH!" The woman jumped out with her gun trained on whoever was in front of her.
"MIA!" Nick didn't have long to react to the situation and when the woman's gun went of he'd tackled her to the floor. In her current state it wasn't too difficult to wrestle the gun away from her and he had the nose of it pressed against her forehead while he sat on her stomach.
"HA! YOU THINK I'M AFRAID OF A BUNCH OF FRENCH DAISIES?!" She laughed. Nick's cold look of determination slipped into one of mild confusion.
"You might want to do something about that, detective." Miles wrapped an arm around Draco with the intention of leading him further into the apartment. "Nick's already shot the girl once."

Draco notice that Edgworth was in a rather drunken state, considering he way his wieght pulled on him as he wrapped an arm around him. While it might of been Mile's intention to lead him into the apartment, Draco was the one who basically had to lead the boy to a chair, sitting him down before focusing his attention on the woman. With a second pair of cuff, he approached her.

"Stand back, Mr. Wright," Draco said. "I'll take her from here."

He moved and grabbed the girl by the arm as Phoenix lept off, pulling her to her feet. She cursed and screamed, clawing at him with her free hand, but Draco kept his hold, he pushed her against the wall, his weight against her back. He snapped the cuffs onto both hands, speaking to her. "You have the right to remain silent (and I implore you to exercise that right). Anything you say can and shall be used against you. You have a right to an attorney (though I'm sure the ones in here will hardly defend you)."

"MY CUPCAKES ARE IN THE TOP SHELF YOU SON OF A BITCH!" The woman argued. Nick was looking a little pale and he was still gripping the woman's gun a bit too tightly.
"I don't remember making cupcakes." Miles observed and got up to check in the kitchen. Nick grabbed the sleeve of his blazer and pulled him onto the nearby couch.
"Stay." He commanded like Miles were some sort of disobedient puppy.

Draco secured the woman so she could run away, then turn his attention back to Mr. Wright and Ms. Fey. "Now that we've secured the area, perhaps one of you could fill me in on what was happening. From the situation, I'm more than willing to believe you. First off," he pointed at the gun in Phoenix's hands. "Tell me what that thing is."

His rush of adrenaline dying down Nick looked at the gun the detective was pointing at.
"Ah!" He quickly let go and it clanked on the floor.
"Well, detective." Miles stretched his arms along the top of the couch. "That woman there was here to plant drugs in my house to make Melissa Park's claims more credible. But then we came by unannounced in the middle and so she felt she needed to shut us up. She'd taken care of me earlier before I went to the bar so she focused her efforts on Nick and Ms. Fey here. Something about using the Fey reputation to discredit the girl and to use some sort of dart or whatnot to make it look as if poor dear Nick had a nervous break down. Seeing as how Nick managed to get the gun away from her and shoot her with it, well you're seeing the effects it would have likely had. As for the second gun on the floor there, well that one I imagine just has bullets in it. You'll want to check the one in the kitchen on the table for more evidence." He gestured to the kitchen. "But first you might want to do something about the brute standing behind you with the gun to your head." He then gestured to the large man who'd gotten back up while Miles was talking and had his own gun aimed at the detective.

Draco had no time to ponder ho the man was able to get out of the cuffs. He reacted quickly, drawing he own gun in a flash and fired off six rounds at the man before he could take a shot off. two shots clearly missed, but the third found its mark in the man's thigh, the fourth in his shoulder, and the final two taken in the gut. The man doubled over and groaned him pain.

"You should have stayed where you were," Draco growled, picking the gun from the man, and the second on the floor. He pulled out the magazine and clipped out the already loaded bullets before setting them on the table, away from the cuffed girl. He followed Edgeworth's advice, heading into the kitchen. There he spotted the bags and briefcase. The briefcase he opened and found bottle and a syringe tucked in place, the drup used on Edgeworth, no doubt. He'll getthis stuff analyse when back up come. He locked the case up and came back into the living room. "Looks like we've found what we're looking for." He dialed up Valerie again. "Get on the radio and have a forensic team here. We've got a big lead, Val. A BIG one." He glanced over at the man bleeding. "Oh, and get an ambulance over. Shot's were fired and a suspect was wounded."

"You okay?" Nick looked Mia over while the detective contacted his men.
"Well this was exciting." Miles had a sort of lopsided smile on his face. "Good work, detective." He stood up and dusted something invisible off his sleeves. "Now would someone mind getting me to the hospital? And maybe call an exterminator to take care of all these Japaneses fighting beetles."
The woman in cuffs had stopped babbling incoherently and had opted for passing out.

Aser Amun walked through the apartment complex, his hands in his pockets. He was jingling his keys in one pocket, his other hand fiddling with his lighter. He was careful not to turn the lighter on, but he enjoyed feeling it. It was a comfort thing for somebody who was just a little drunk. He had noted the police car on the way in, and was going to poke around a bit before going to his apartment and sleeping.

He walked up to the floor where Miles' apartment was, with only one bruise on his knee. He walked up the corridor, seeing an open door. He heard talking from int he room. Then six gunshots. He peered around the open doorframe, intrigued.

"Should be here in a minute," Draco anounced, then notice a man standing in from of the doorway. "There's nothing to see, here, sir. Move along." He advanced toward the doorway to shoe the man away, but then reconized him. "Prosecutor Amun." He nodded, and explained the situation. "No doubt you heard the gunfire and came to investigate. Some incident was going on in this gentleman's appartment. While apprehending the suspects, this man..." he pointed at the groaning big guy on the ground, "pulled a firearm on me. I took action, firing six shots. He's badly wounded by still alive. I've called for back up and an ambulance. Which should be ariving..." distant sirens wailed as police care and abulances pulling into the complex. "...now."

"Afternoon, prosecutor!" Miles gave him a slight wave. "Lovely day, isn't it?" Nick quickly grabbed Miles and led him into the kitchen.
"Hey, let's go fetch some tea!" He suggested with a nervous laugh. "And shut-up." He added in a hoarse whisper.

"Harley," Valerie said, running toward the detective. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Draco replied. "Not a scratch. Can't say the same with our friend here." He nodded over to the bleeding man. "Have him taken to the hospital. I want him alive for questioning. As for this lady, he point at the woman who laid passed out. "Have a doctor examine her, and get a sample of her blood. If test goes well, she have the same drugs in her system Mr. Edgeworth had the other night." He added in a low voice. "I'm sure they also have something to do with the arson deal. We'll get this case shut in no time." Speaking out once more, "Is Detective Gumshoe with you?"

"I'd think so," Val replied with a smile. "You know he couldn't stay away from an investigation."

"That's what worries me," Draco grumbled, waiting for the detective to catch up.

"Very well, Detective..." Aser paused, snapping his fingers, trying to remember the detective's name. "...Dragon, is it? No matter. I take it his injuries, and to a lesser extent, that woman being out cold, were in self-defense, or defense of others?"

Aser saw Phoenix drag Edgeworth into the kitchen, and raised an eyebrow at it, but otherwise payed it little mind.

"Draco, actually," he corrected. "It was both in self defence and defense of others. As you can tell by the wound, I was shooting to disarm, not to kill." He allowed the medical crew in to haul off the big guy, patching his wounds and carrying him out. "The woman, however, was drugged with a solution she was carrying in this gun," he showed him the tranquilzer pistol alone with the dart he pulled from the girl's arm. "The drug and she will be tested by forensics. I've a good guess though that this was the drug used on Edgeworth two nights ago."

Levan walked into the apartment and looked around. She remembered getting a call from an officer and went over to the area a fast as possible. 'Even though it's not my job... Still.' She thought to herself. "Hello." She said as she walked over to Draco.

"If you could help us with the investigation. I'd like for you to check for prints on a case." He led her into the kitchen where the case still layed on the table.

Miles hummed as he browsed his newly sorted tea collection.
"Oh, this one is good." He held a bag over to Nick, who was sitting at the table looking rather tired. He perked up when people entered, but the look on his face was a very forced happy one.
"Ah, detective." He greeted. "Miss." He coughed and got up. "Will you be wanting us for questioning?" He asked.
"I have got to do something about these beetles." Miles muttered to himself.

"I'd say he'd got hit with another one of those drugs," Draco commented. "Well get you to a clinic in a minute Mr. Edgeworth. Right now, we'll need to have a closer look at this case." He lead Levana over to the counter where the case and two bags set. "This is the case with the drugs and syringe in it. The two suspects likely placed it here to throw suspicion on Mr. Edgeworth. Could you check all prints on the case and see what we can find?"

Levana raised both of brows up quickly and followed Draco over to the counter. "Two suspects? Who do you have mind?" She asked him, looking down at the case not touching it. Levana then put some latex gloves on and picked it up and looking at it closely.

"One was the bloodied big man whom they've just taken to the hospital. The second it that woman who laid passed out in the appartment." He nodded over to the bags. "I haven't check the contents in those bags yet. Though I expect more of the same stuff. Anyway, we'll get their prints for analysis back at the prescint.

Levana took a deep breath. "Have you checked anyone else who has known Edgeworth?" She asked him, putting the file into a plastic bag.

"There are only a few people who know him personally, it would seem," Draco said, and jerked a thumb at Phoenix. "Mr. Wright, who is Edgeworth's closest friend, the defense attorney, Mia Fey, who only knows Edgeworth through Mr. Wright, and of course, his father Gregory Edgeworth, who is in Hawaii." He thought for a moment. "However, there is taht other girl, Melissa Parks. She claims to be his wife." Now that he though about it. That woman who got drug looked oddly similar to Parks in many ways.

Aser gave another quizical glance at Edgeworth, and shook his head. "Would you like some sleep, Captain Cravat?" he asked, sarcasm evident in his voice.

He turned back to Draco. "What weapons were used then, Detective? And who is this 'Miss Nirvana'... Oh, I mean Levanna?"

"Ms. Levana," Draco spoke, introducing her to him. "Is one of our newest cadets of the forensic teams. She's good, however, and get's the job done." He drew Aser's attnetion to the guns he set at the table. He pointed at the tranquilizer pistol. "This gun was used to inject a poerful drun into the target's body. With the chimical's tested, I'm sure it will be identified as the drugs used on Mr. Edgeworth. As for the guns." He pointed at the one he took from the big guy. "This belong to the suspect who drew against me, and the other I assume belonged to the woman."

Levana looked at Draco seriously and nodded once. When she heard her name wrong,Levana smiled and shook her head slowly. 'I do get the job done.' She thought, looking up at the ceiling. "Well, I'll see whose finger prints these are and give them back." Levana announced. "Along with the drugs."

Draco nodded. "I'll send Valerie with you to help out if you need it." Once the drugs were gathered and taken, Draco turned his attnetion to Mr. Wright. "Okay, Mr. Wright. You'll need to shed some more light upon what has happened before my entrance, if you please."
