We have some stuff here, and there are a few big cities, but still D: It's not HUUUUUGE like Boston, which is like...45 minutes from here D:
Richard would like Boston. Very fashionable and big, lots of theaters and places like that, plus it's in Massachusetts. Which means legalized gay marriage. Luke would be thrilled :D

Besides, Richard has like the biggest skewed perception of the world EVER. He probably thinks he has to date rich women to be worth anything, regardless of what he wants personally. And if he had high social status (which it's implied that he does), I'm pretty sure someone like Richard would want to keep homosexuality a secret. It'd be bad for his reputation.
